I am giving up Scandal. I am really mad, because us little people cannot do shit like that. I hate shows I cannot relate to. I should have not started it, I was mad about Shonda taking time to write it, and leaving Private Practice for death. Lately she is doing the same exact thing to Greys and I cannot see it go, because of some show, I only started watching because  I was bored. Since I only relate to the killing parts, I am saying goodbye to Scandal. I have not yet picked up any new shows this fall, even Masters of Sex, which I found very good.I have never felt more relieved to give up a show. Scandal, I am not watching you again.

Greys 10.06

Did I say last episode was bad, this one was much worse. The weakest episode of the series, without a doubt. How bad your imagination and creativity must be if you base an episode around a mug? I am mad at Shonda for focusing on Scandal and giving up Private Practice and now Greys.

4/10 – what the hell Shonda?

SVU 15.06

Highly disapointed this week.

Bones 9.06

My babies got married! I’ve waited 8yrs for this. Couldn’t stop crying. So many beautiful memories. Can I go back to all those early mornings? I’ll be reminiscing for the rest of the week and rewatching the wedding. I remember the rush this show used to gave me, miss those times. What a spectacular episode.

‘Look, hey, do you remember the last time that we were here? Standing right around this spot, it was right in the beginning before we really knew each other. I was trying to get away from you because you were irritating me and you chased me down and you caught up to to me. I said to you, ‘Listen, I just have to get all my ducks in a row,’ and then you said to me, ‘I can be a duck!’ We have been chasing each other for a long time. We’ve been chasing each other through wars and serial killers and ghosts and snakes. Chasing you has been the smartest thing I’ve ever done in my life and being chased by you has been my greatest joy. But now, we don’t have to chase each other because we caught each other.’

‘When Hodgins and I were buried alive, we each wrote a message to someone we loved in case our bodies were ever found. Hodgins wrote to Angela and I wrote to you. ‘Dear Agent Booth, you are a confusing man. You are irrational and impulsive, superstitious and exasperating. You believe in ghosts and angels, and maybe even Santa Claus and because of you I’ve started to see the universe differently. How is it possible that simply looking into your fine face gives me such joy? Why does it make me so happy that every time I try to sneak a peek at you, you’re already looking at me. Like you it makes no sense, and like you, it feels right. If I ever get out of here, I will find a time and place to tell you that you make my life messy and confusing and unfocused and irrational and wonderful. This is that time, this is that place.’

‘You ready, Booth?’ ‘I’ve been ready for years.’

‘What you and Temperance have, it’s the reason we draw breath.’

‘We’ve waited long enough.’ ‘We have.’

10/10

Castle 6.05

The Carrie Diaries 2.01

The stain of defeat is a mafe little easier by a great place to live, a great summer job, an awesome new look and a whole new attitude.
Its Saturday.
Than why did you wake me.
Who’s miller?
I don’t have time for regrets, only fun.
And impersonating her mother.
That purse is a part of who I am.
What are you looking at? You never seen anyone sweaty before?
Is the cake okay?
No I didn’t realize there are 20 murders a week in Manhattan. That’s good to know.
Drug diller can’t reach if the line is busy. Tea would be lovely thank you.
You promised no whining.
Hello officers.
Say nothing.
Everyone is just been laughing about you.
There’s no money for me to go to college. If I wanna go, I have to pay for it myself.
I just feel so lost. Everyone hates me.
If I don’t go to college, I’m stuck here.
We all lose things. Stuff comes and goes, who cares.
Yeah that is stupid.
If you ever need anything, you know where I live.
Can I stay here for a couple of days.

Greys 10.05

Probably the weakest episode of the whole series. I knew this would happen if we leave it to the interns. I hope Dexter’s father isn’t going, wasn’t he supposed to stay for more episodes? The final voiceover and what Cristina said relate so painfully much to me at the moment, it hurts.

‘You and I started running down the same road, at the same time, and at a certain point, you let up. You slowed down. You made your choices and they are valid choices. And don’t say that I don’t support that, because I do. But don’t pretend they don’t affect your skills. We’re in different places now, and that’s okay.’

‘What if your focus splits? What if you can’t be all in? Are you left with nothing at all? Maybe you just need to find a different path. Here’s what’s horrifying. What if you can’t give 100%? Maybe you just need to go back to the beginning and start all over again.’

Revenge 3.03

‘Some believe confession helps a guilty soul find peace. Releasing us from the shame and regret of our mistakes. In the face of mortality many feel the need to seek this closure to make things right. Because if death doesn’t kill us our demons will.’

‘I’m turning myself in to authorities.’ ‘So your psychosis has progressed.‘

‘You’re going to be hand-delivering all 400 wedding invitations? Surely you have enough money for postage.’

‘There’s so much you don’t know about me, Victoria.’ ‘I’m learning more and more each day.’

‘I was always drawn to the Old Testament. God… the one who avenges.’

10/10

American Horror Story 3.02

Again, the weakest episode.

5/10

Scandal 3.03

‘This is not a fairy tale. This is not the happily ever after. If you’re still alive, it’s because he still owns you. It’s because you’re still useful to him, and he’s going to find a way to use you against me…He still owns me too.’

The Breakfast Club

I still hate that we did not get to see what happened on monday and that none of the actors had really great carriers.

Saturday, March 24,1984. Shermer High School, Shermer, Illinois, 60062. Dear Mr. Vernon, We accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did was wrong. But we think you’re crazy to make us write an essay telling you who we think we are. What do you care? You see us as you want to see us – in the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. You see us as a brain, an athlete, a basket case, a princess and a criminal. Correct? That’s the way we saw each other at 7:00 this morning. We were brainwashed.

We’re all pretty bizarre. Some of us are just better at hiding it, that’s all.

10/10

Terms of Endearment

I have always hated that the daughter dies. Incredible performances.

You are not special enough to overcome a bad marriage.

I like the lights on.
Then go home and turn them on.

8/10

Lost and delirious

Lesbian? Lesbian? Are you fucking kidding me, you think I’m a LESBIAN?
You’re a girl in love with a girl, aren’t you?
No! I’m PAULIE in love with TORI. Remember? And Tori, she is, she IS in love with me because she is mine and I am hers and neither of us are LESBIANS!

She’s the only person who ever loved me, you know?

I think I’ll die without her.

Have you ever been really thirsty? And you open a carton of milk and you pour it in your mouth… and it’s… sour. That happened. Inside me. Forever.

I felt like a gray mouse heading straight for the mouth of a cat, and there was nothing, nothing I could do about it.

7/10

The Departed

I know I should love it, and I did, but It felt too long, and I wish it had more Jack Nicholson.

When you decide to be something, you can be it. That’s what they don’t tell you in the church. When I was your age they would say we can become cops, or criminals. Today, what I’m saying to you is this: when you’re facing a loaded gun, what’s the difference?

Why is the last patient of the day always the hardest?
Because you’re tired and you don’t give a shit. It’s not super-natural.

8/10

Insidious 2

In my line of work things tend to happen when it gets dark.

10/10

Mama

A ghost is an emotion bent out of shape, condemned to repeat itself time and time again.

Daddy, look! there’s a woman outside the window. And she’s not touching the floor.

6/10

Cracks

Girls, we are angels, eagles! To dive is to fly. Set yourself free of the shackles of conformity. Let nothing hold you back except the air itself. You are between heaven and earth. The rules no longer apply.

The most important thing in life is desire. You can achieve anything you want. The world is yours for the taking. Nothing is impossible for you, my girls. All you need is to desire it.

Dear team, please don’t be cross with me for leaving you in the lurch. There is no place here for me now. And I feel with great certainty that I must chance to make a discovery of my own. I’m not sure I will come across elephants or crocodiles immediately, but I shall write to tell you the minute I do. You must look after each other now, and do your best to be fearless and true. Carry these notions forth into the world, because without you they will simply disappear. Don’t fret, I will write soon. And PS, make progress to replace the short bread. Love, Di.

7/10

We’re the Millers

Hilarious, I loved that they got into the witness protection and went by the Miller name. The kissing scene truly uncomfortable. I cried when they played I’ll be there for you at the end of the bloopers.

You know what I’m sayin?
Well, I’m awake and I speak English, so yeah I know what you’re saying.

You’re making $500,000 and giving me only $30,000?
$30,000? I’m only getting $1,000!
You guys are getting paid?

7/10

You’re next

Disappointed big time, the posters and all the people saying it was a genre changing piece. It really was not, and I did not think the Purge was a masterpiece either, but it was much better.

3/10

Don’t say a word

Everyone was watching and no one helped him.

She heard.
How do you know?
She stopped breathing.

6/10

I Spit On Your Grave 2

A disgrace to an incredible movie and it’s satisfying remake.

5/10

The Interpreter

Definitely not recommending it, it was a drag, I slept 3 hours and was more exhausted after watching it. There was no shocking twists and everyone was just sitting, doing nothing. It was so slow I just kept playing pool and Simpsons Tapped Out on my phone.

4/10

Something Borrowed

I can’t take this ‘daddy beats me because he loves me’ excuse.

No, I didn’t pull my vagina! I just pulled… near my vagina.

4/10

License to Wed

It was cute, I absolutely loved the weddung vows in sand and Robin Williams was incredible. Oh and the mechanic kids were amazing, they even moved their eyelids and face muscles. Never to fart sounds so much better than Never to part. My mom is still talking about this one.

So Ben, what do you do, besides little Sadie here.
Oh, please. Please. You go to a liberate college, you have a bisexual rommate, you forget about God. Don’t sweat it. He doesn’t forget about you.

Bad news, guys. Next available date is in two years.

Reverend Frank is everywhere, remember?

The moment you told Joel that Sadie wasn’t a fish, I knew it was meant to be. Besides, anybody who kicks a reverend’s ass for his woman, you’re A-okay in my book.

8/10

Resident Evil

You’re all going to die down here.

I’ve been a bad, bad girl.

I don’t want to be one of those things. Walking around without a soul.

All the people that were working here are dead.
Well, that isn’t stopping them from walking around.

6/10

Made of Honour

Nobody in the world makes me laugh the way you do. You’re my best friend. I just wanna be with you.

6/10

Perfume: The story of a murderer

If someone told me this had Dustin Hoffman and Alan Rickman in it I would have seen it sooner. I know it is an uncommon opinion, but I was not impressed by it and I thought the ending was terrible. Up until after he killed Laura the film was inspiring, but when everyone was under the charm of the perfume and started taking off their clothes, I found it a little too despicable.

I have to learn how to keep smell.

For the first time in his life, Grenouille realized that he had no smell of his own. He realized that all his life he had been a nobody to everyone. What he now felt was the fear of his own oblivion. It was a though he did not exist.

He still had enough perfume left to enslave the whole world if he so chose. He could walk to Versailles and have the king kiss his feet. He could write the pope a perfumed letter and reveal himself as the new Messiah. He could do all this, and more, if he wanted to. He possessed a power stronger than the power of money, or terror, or death – the invincible power to command the love of man kind. There was only one thing the perfume could not do. It could not turn him into a person who could love and be loved like everyone else. So, to hell with it he thought. To hell with the world. With the perfume. With himself.

Within no time, Jean-Baptiste Grenouille had disappeared from the face of the earth. When they had finished, they felt a virginal glow of happiness. For the first time in their lives, they believed they had done something purely out of love.

7/10

A Fish called Wanda

That was one crazy movie.

5/10

This Means War

3/10

Scary Movie 5

I’ve only watched this monstrous movie for Kate Walsh, who was in one scene.

1/10

Albino Farm

3/10

Train

1/10

Fun Size

4/10

Liz & Dick

Not that I’m counting, but if I’m not mistaken you just ended what, your fourth marriage?

Oh, who’s counting?

3/10

Dark Tide

3/10

Kraken

Enjoyed the killing and underwater scenes, everything else was terrible. Shame the octopus didn’t attack them too much, it basically took what was in the water.

1/10

It’s time to figure out which new shows I will follow this year. I’s time to make decisions.  Am I in or am I out? It turns out none of the new shows intrigued me. I only made it through this week’s episode of Masters of Sex, but couldn’t handle watching another episode of Hostages, because I simply could not care less about the characters, and only enjoyed the beginning, the being held hostage thing; The Originals, because let’s be honest, I have never been a fan of vampire shows and it is just another teen show. Back in the Game, feels like a kid show, but I enjoyed the granpa’s rules and the girl from Sugar Rush, or even The Crazy Ones, which is a show of Robin Williams being surrounded by people of no comedic feeling. I am not sure, maybe it’s the growing up thing. I think from now on the only shows I will follow are going to be those that focus around the actors I love the most, like this summer’s Camp with Rachel Griffiths. I am exhausted trying to find new talent who’s carrier I’d follow, but hell I am not Simon Cowell. I am starting to become sceptic about new shows, I think I am getting my sarcasm back too, and I finally realized that I should be watching films that I haven’t seen yet, not waste my time on mediocre shows. I have made my decisions, I am also thinking of quitting Scandal, I love Jeff Perry and Kate Burton’s performances and they are the only reason I started watching this show this summer. I feel like I need some major changes in my life, and I need to start with the shows, so this is it. I tried quitting The X Factor USA this week, but could not. I hate reality tv and shows, but we all end up watching some of them, and I watch this one, so what? I know it’s not very good, but I know I woud not make it through watching The Voice or American Idol, so whatever. Everyone needs a break, and I find this show really relaxing after a hard week.

Shows I am quitting:
Masters of Sex
The Crazy Ones
Hostages
Back in the Game
The Originals

This leaves me with no new shows added to my list this fall. I am now waiting for Surviving Jack and other new propositions.

Greys 10.04. SVU 15.04. Bones 9.04. Castle 6.03. American Horror Story 3.01. Revenge 3.02. Scandal 3.02. Masters of Sex 1.03. The Simpsons 25.02

Greys 10.04

What a lovely way to celebrate 200th episode!

Overture, curtains, lights. This is it, the night of nights. No more rehearsing and nursing a part. We know every part by heart. Tonight what heights we’ll hit, on with the show. This is it!

10/10

SVU 15.04

I love when Amanda goes undercover. I am so sad Richard is leaving the show.

‘What did you think? That he was gonna leave his wife and his kid for you? You spent the last five years sitting in that car hoping that one day he would look over at you and suddenly realise that you were the woman that he couldn’t live without.’

9/10

Bones 9.04

First of, remember when all the episodes were this good.

To hell with the FBI.
I have to go do scientific things to catch a serial killer.
Oh here we go down the rabbit hole.
You and I are destined to die together.
Think about all the innocent lives you’re saving by doing absolutely nothing.
That’s what you call a tortured soul.
Up until the moment he discovers that she’ll never have him.
I’ll take that as a yes.
That son of a bitch left her a love note, that only she can understand.
Who cares, we were here for the big happy ending.

10/10

Castle 6.03

She’d be sleeping on the couch with him.
Nobody tells you how it feels like when it’s gone. Plenty people around you to help you spend it though.

5/10

Revenge 3.02

Can’t wait to see Victoria and Aiden join forces!

Freelancing is not a profession, dear. It’s a hobby one has between bartending shifts.
Convince Conrad to confess. To everything.

10/10

American Horror Story 3.01

Apparently I’m a witch, it runs in my family. It doesn’t show up in every generation, or in every girl. My cousin Amanda’s just bulimic.

“It’s a cliche. But like all cliches, it’s the truth. Your life can change overnight.”

“When levees broke the people of New Orleans were tested. Those who stayed stayed for a reason. With that came a sense of purpose and community. That’s what happens in a crisis. All the bullshit falls away and what’s left is just so raw and vulnerable. It’s agony to let people see you so exposed. It takes a huge amount of trust and for most of us, that trust was shattered long ago. But like it or not, we need each other and we need each other desperately. My mother was right. The world isn’t safe for a girl like me but maybe I’m not safe for the world either. And since I’ll never be able to experience real love, I might as well put this curse to some use.”

Fall season, thank god you’re back. I hate that the summer is gone and I haven’t seen many films I wanted to. It’s like I’ve wasted the entire summer doing absolutely nothing. I did start watching Bates Motel, and The Killing and Switched at Birth and rewatched Daria, because I haven’t seen it in 10 years. I still think this was the most unproductive summer of all. I will try to catch up with everything I’ve left aside last winter. I’ve started with dvr-ing some 70s films. I am glad I am not watching horror movies excessivly but that is probably the case because I finished watching everything important a few years back, but I still haven’t chosen the movies for Halloween. Is there some horror classic I’ve missed over my darkness obsessed teenage years? Speaking of classics, back to the list Jo, seriously. Get your shit together. And please for God’s sake stop spending so much time on tumblr.

Greys 10.01

‘We’re all going to die. We don’t get much say over how or when, but we do get to decide how we’re gonna live. So, do it. Decide. Is this the life you want to live? Is this the person you want to love? Is this the best you can be? Can you be stronger? Kinder? More compassionate? Decide. Breathe in. Breathe out and decide.’

10/10

Greys 10.02

‘They say your life flashes before your eyes right before you die. The important moments, the moments that tested you, the moments that made you who you are. I don’t know about my life flashing before me. I was thinking about my white coat and how I’m glad I had it on me now. It’s the moment my life started, seems fitting it should be on me when it ends.’

You make a decision and then the world has it’s turn. The consequences unfold out of your hands. There’s only one thing that seems clear in those quiet moments while you wait. You chose wrong.’

9/10

Greys 10.03

Webber’s all suicidal, saying Mer is not his family and he only chose her to help him die, fully understandable.

In the game of mercy, when one kid cries out, the other one listens and the pain stops. Don’t you wish it was that easy now? It’s not a game anymore and we’re not kids. You can cry mercy all you want but nobody’s listening. It’s just you screaming into a void.

8/10

SVU 15.01

Liv’s alive. She’s a survivor.

‘I think I want you to suffer first. Maybe I can burn you, or cut you, or I can use the blowtorch, but you might enjoy that too. I want to shoot you in the head right now. Watch you bleed out, but maybe that’s too easy.’

‘My old partner, he’d know what to do. He wouldn’t question himself after what you’ve done. He would kick your teeth in, break your legs, break your arms, break your back, break your face. Maybe I should call him. Maybe I should get him to use that metal bar on you and make you beg for your life.’

10/10

SVU 15.02

‘You know what I’ve seen, is that people who have gone through unfair, horrific experiences, is that they have this will, and when they get support, a chance, they can not only survive, they can thrive.’

10/10

SVU 15.03

SVU is without a doubt the best show there is at the moment, the writing is just superb and the show has never been better.

Welcome to ReviewThisFilm

This website started as weekly reviews on movies and tv episodes, and a diary of the 700 new films I watched every year. Today it’s a place for me to write a few words on films and tv shows that leave some sort of impact on me. I no longer write in depth reviews, partially thanks to bad habits gained by spending many hours a day on Letterboxd, and partially because of my demanding day job.

If you have a film you would like me to watch and review,  please leave a comment.

Enjoy!

About the Author

I just really love movies and watch 700 new ones a year.

My favourite actresses have always been Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore.

Favourite actors: Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Henry Fonda, Jack Lemmon, Vincent Price and John Candy.

Favourite Directors: Brian De Palma, Alfred Hitchcock, Paul Thomas Anderson, Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieslowski and Wes Craven.

dysfunctional families | troubled childhoods

psychological | independent | drama | horror

At the pictures 10 times a month. I rate films within genre. I watch all interesting titles about to expire on Netflix and HBO Go. I’m nostalgic and reminisce a lot. Over the years I’ve seen 140 TV Shows.

26. Polish-British and proud of both of my citizenships.

About me

I am the dark and twisty Meredith Grey, the mad Dexter Morgan, hoping to grow up to be a little more like the wise, but fun Nora Walker. I am an aspiring filmmaker. My favorite actresses are Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. Favorite genre – psychological drama. I watch anything with a sexual or mental abuse plot. I used to be a horror freak. I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, SVU and many more. My other interests include making oil and pencil portraits and wildlife conservation. I cannot say no to beautiful landscapes, travel, Aussie accent, TV/film quotes and avocados. I have recently moved back from Australia to the UK. I’ve been running this blog for the last 9 years. Here I comment on films and episodes I watch. Enjoy! – Joanne

favourite film and tv quotes

‘When I lived in Porpoise Spit, I used to sit in my room for hours and listen to ABBA songs. But since I’ve met you and moved to Sydney, I haven’t listened to one Abba song. That’s because my life is as good as an Abba song. It’s as good as Dancing Queen.’ (Muriel’s Wedding)

‘I used to think about
your life in New York. I tried to imagine your room. I kept track of the time difference, so I  knew when you were awake and when you were asleep.’ (Disobedience)

‘Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?’ (The Aviator)

‘No, I’m not quitting. I don’t quit things.’
‘No, actually you do. Your mother quit your father. Your father quit you. You quit your boyfriend and if I read your hospital chart correctly you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It’s what you know how to do.’ (Greys)

‘Where the hell was I that year?’
‘Your were watching television’. (Everybody Loves Raymond)

‘It’s impossible to worry about anything else when there’s blood coming out of you.’
(Short Term 12)

‘I wanted it to happen. And when we were girls… Even then, it was the same. It’s always been this way! I have always wanted it.’ (Disobedience)

‘Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a moment when our lives change forever. The moment we admit our weaknesses, the moment we rise to a challenge, the moment we accept a sacrifice, or let a loved one go. And sometimes the change in our lives is an answer to our prayers.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Yesterday I went to the movies all day by myself. One after the other. I’ve never done that before. I had a really happy day.’ (Doing Time for Patsy Cline)

‘I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are going to change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed a feel like I might die today.’ (Greys)

‘She saved me my whole life. Without her, I’m nothing.’ (The Favourite)

‘Don’t wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don’t. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.’  (Greys)

‘Bree sobbed quietly in the restroom for five miutes, but her husband never knew, because when Bree finally emerged, she was perfect.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘I am not food, you cannot just eat and eat.’ (The Favourite)

‘I don’t love him.’
‘Of course you do.’
‘No!’
‘Don’t take me for a fool Olive,  I’m many things but I’m not a fool.’
‘I know that, you’re brilliant.’
‘Don’t you see, it’s over. Whatever this is, was, it’s over.’
‘I love You.’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing, is reason enough to celebrate.’ (Greys)

‘Many years ago, a neighbour and a good friend of ours took her life, and that left us all heartbroken and perplexed. But somehow, when I was alone in that hotel room, I forget about all the pain that she caused. In those awful moments, I thought maybe she had the answer.‘ (Desperate Housewives)

‘What happened last year when you fell in the water?’
‘I almost drowned. Do you think I did that for kicks?’
‘You put your hand in a body cavity that contained unexploded ammunition.’
‘I was trying to save a patient!’
‘Why is it that every other person in that room had the sense to hit the deck? You know people run away from this line between life and death. You seem to stand on it and wait for a strong wind to sway you one way or the other. You’re careless with your life. You’re not slitting your wrists but you’re careless. Probably because your mother told you you were a waste of space on this planet. The problem is you believed her. And if you don’t want out one of these days you’re going to die because of it.’  (Greys)

‘This is the street where I used to live and these were the people with whom I shared my life. I met them the day they moved in. And I saw what they brought with them. Beautiful dreams for the future. And quiet hopes for a better life. Not just for themselves, but for their children, too. If I could, would I tell them what lies ahead? Would I warn them of the sorrow and betrayal that lie in store? No. From where I stand now, I see enough of the road to understand how it must be traveled. The trick is to keep moving forward, to let go of the fear and the regret that slow us down and keep us from enjoying a journey that will be over too soon. Yes, there will be unexpected bends in the road, shocking surprises we didn’t see coming, but that’s really the point. Don’t you think?’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Was your life not working when you let that slip out from under you?’
‘When are you going to stop suggesting that I’m suicidal?’
‘When you start acting like someone that wants to be alive.’
‘Give me my chart.’
‘Why?’
‘Because I’m not suicidal, and if it says that I am, then it’s wrong.’ (Greys)

‘There is nothing wrong with me.’
‘Then show me your arm.’ (Degrassi)

‘Look, my whole life, I have been the freak. The girl who nobody picked for dodgeball. The girl who didn’t have a mom. The girl who dressed funny because it was her dad buying her clothes. And then, tonight I looked at these people, and I thought maybe there’s a future where I don’t have to be a freak. Maybe I can be who I am and that’s okay.’ (Everything Sucks)

‘Dr, I have been this way since…since I can remember. There is no cure.’ (American Horror Story)

‘He was so crazy about me, I couldn’t breathe. So we tried drinking our way back into love, but it never made sense in the morning. So I ran. And every time I came back, he was here. And he was still crazy about me.’ (My Blueberry Nights)

‘Bree van de Kamp had always wanted to live her life with elegance and grace. That is also how she wanted to die. Her plan was to pour herself a glass of her favorite chardonnay, put on her most stylish nightgown and leave behind a note on embossed stationery.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘All we have is this moment. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So be… here…. now.’ (Six Feet Under)

‘On the train coming here, we were in the same cart, I saw you, you were reading and you feel asleep. I didn’t dare to look at you, you were so beautiful, it was scary. Afterwards,  I couldn’t stop thinking about you. It made me smile. Then I thought of all the men who would get to hold you, who’d make you laugh. How lucky they were.’ (Enemy at the Gates)

‘It was a good day. Maybe even a great day. Even when it was hard, I was the me in my head. There was a moment when I thought I cant do this, I cant do this alone. I close my eyes and imagine myself doing it, and I did, I blocked out the fear, and I did it.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a time when we must expose our weaknesses. When our secrets can no longer remain private, when our solitude can no longer be denied, when our pain can no longer be ignored, but sometimes we feel so alone that a weakness we thought we’d overcome suddenly becomes too strong to fight.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Why did you get married, Esti? Why didn’t you just leave? So everything was all right when I left?’
‘No. I was ill.’
‘What sort of ill?’
‘In my head.’
‘If I had to sleep with a man, why not with our best friend?’
‘Oh, Esti…’
‘It hasn’t been a complete disaster.’
‘And that’s enough?! Do you have to have sex every Friday?’
‘It’s expected.’
‘It’s medieval. What happened to you?’
‘Nothing. You happened to me. And then I started teaching and that became important. I give them ambition.’
‘To do what? Push out seven babies and be a good wife?’
‘Don’t. Don’t. I help them to value themselves.’
‘Okay, but what about you?’
‘That is me. And you? Are you happy?’
‘Yes, I am.’
‘Have you been with other women?’
‘No. Not really. And you?’
‘No.’
‘But, Esti… Do you still
only fancy women?’ (Disobedience)

‘OK, then, listen. Let’s not get caught.’
‘What are you talkin’ about?’
‘Let’s keep goin’!’
‘What d’you mean?’
‘Go.’
‘You sure?’
‘Yeah. Yeah.’ (Thelma & Louise)

‘She let me live at Nora’s house. She let me believe that I was a part of their family. I fell in love with that family. What am I supposed to do, just sit there, pretend I’m related to them? I was happy. For the first time in my life I was happy.’ (Brothers and Sisters)

‘You will be left all alone with your bitterness and your rage and your knowledge that you loved her and she loved you and you threw it away for them.’
‘Do you love her?’
‘Yes.’
‘And Have you always?’
‘Yes.’
‘So then ask her.’
‘Olive, will you forgive me?’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘No razors, no scissors, no fucking freedom.’
(Short Term 12)

‘You can’t take a picture of this. It’s already gone.’ (Six Feet Under)
