I have so many shows, I haven’t watched a single film since they came back from the winter break. I will cry when Parenthood ends. American Horror Story and Bad Judge just ended. Eye Candy made the list. Greys, Scandal, How to Get Away with Murder are all back next week. Then Nashville, and Bates Motel and Bones are back in March.

Parenthood 6.12

Lauren Graham performed Joni Mitchell’s The Circle Game and that’s all I’m gonna say. Kristina looking at her latest accomplishment – which was probably the last scene at Chambers. I cried I cried and I went to the store and bought mansize klinex for next week’s finale.

That didn’t stop you before going into music business.
It’s gotta be you, Mr. Braverman.
I have some serious doubts about success of this school if you’re gonna tach cooking.
I always thought I’d get married at a volcano.
Did he just say volcano?
I always thought I’d have my second wedding at a volcano.
Excuse me? What’s happening? Are we going?
Of course I’m with you. I’m always with you.
Where’s the baby?
Yeah, that text was confusing.
There’s no rush.
What was special about it was Adam and I.
You slept with people? How many people? For a record, I didn’t sleep with people.
You’re beautiful to look at. Very beautiful. But also on the inside.
It doesn’t matter what you cook, since you’re gonna end up unemployed anyway.
Hey, you’re playing our song.
Something shifts and you’ll figure it out.
You’re my hero.
You still got it.
Mr Gangi, what exactly are your intentions with my daughter with those teeth?
If you hadn’t stolen my knife in the first place, none of it would have happened.
I just wanna make sure that my dad is there.
Don’t cry, I don’t like when you cry.
Amber, you’re a mommy.
I want you to meet your great grandson, Zeek.
Hi, Zeek.

SVU 16.12

I hate when SVU is not really SVU. We need SVU cases to know it’s gonna be okay, not some Amaro’s father bullshit, especially if he got away with it.

In order to heal, we have to let go.
Oh so you’ve forgiven your father or William Lewis?
Wow.
I’m sorry.
Daddy come quick they’re fighting.
So she deserved it. Just like you did.
Maybe this is just another nightmare from your childhood.
Detective would you say you have your own anger issues?
He’s my son. He has his issues.
The jury’s back.
After 20 minutes?
Finally stood up to your old man.
I would never lay a hand on her. I’m not you.

Revenge 4.13

Victoria offered her life for Emily’s! I see I wasn’t the only one stunned when that happened. It’s all revenge fandom can talk about on Tumblr. Well, this and Nolan’s wedding, but I don’t mind it Nolan and Louis turned out to be great friends even though they’ve known each other for two weeks or so. Why does Victoria say she has nothing left? What about Charlotte and her other son? Where is her other son anyway? Conrad is dead so he can come back and I know they’re trying to sell us Nolan’s bisexuality, but no one is buying it. The whole episode I kept thinking, If they beat Emily up, Victoria has no chance of survival.

Who as it turns out is Emily.
Who would have thought after all that was said and done, you and I would die together.
To stage a greving mother’s suicide.
I thought I’d sacrifice myself to buy you and Emily more time.
Revenge is a dangerous game.

10/10

American Horror Story 4.13

What a beautiful finale. Glad to see a happy ending, very similar to the Haunted House’s, and not a depressing one like Asylum and Coven’s.I knew all of the freaks would die and Elsa too. That’s why we had Dandy. But with every shot my heart wss breaking and I kept saying ‘Come on’ through a tight throat. Elsa comitting a suicide by performing on Halloween was so fitting. They could not have written a better ending. But why would the film that portrays her as a victim hurt her? Why would she be ruined? The film didn’t show her as a masochist, I think they started rolling when she was lying in the bed completely out of it and then having her legs cut off. I know it’s the early 60s, but I think the only think that would change is that everyone would feel sorry for her but I don’t think any less people would watch, even though we all know in the 50s-60s you had to be perfect to make it.

Audiences want a new type of freak.
You’re boring. You’re never be one of us.
What kind of place is this?
Hollywood.
My name is Elsa Mars.
Showtime.
I always thought babies to be boring, but freak babies!
You didn’t think we’d lay in bed with you after you’ve massacred our entire family.
Were you poorly trained? You’re not allowed to sit at the table with us.
It’s got to be theatrical.
I felt so blessed to finally have friends and you took them all.
You’re the biggest freak of them all.
I hate you. I hate you. I hate you.
First of all, this coffee tastes like shit.
I said I will not perform on Halloween.
I’m bored and I’m alone.
I’ve always been cursed. First by having my dreams ripped away and now I’m cursed by having them all come true.
I’ll become just some sad footnote in Hollywood’s history?
They’re all dead.
What? All of them?
Some kind of massacre. Bodies found in a mass grave.
I’ve changed my mind. I will perform on Halloween. Why not? I may as well go out with a bang.
Why she stopped singing?
This is a suicide. How deep your pain must be, my love.
I’m the biggest freak of all.
Your place is not with us.
It’s like you’ve always said, sweetheart. Stars never pay.
Am I to perform?
The brightest and the best there ever was and will be.

Bad Judge 1.13

Just when I got used to these characters. I love that it ended exactly the same way it started – with Rebecca being a complete mess. Goodbye, Bad Judge, I’ll miss you.

Car wash.
There we go.
May just ask your name?
It’s spelled…
Hopefuly we can get address till lunch.
I’ll call one of my orher friends. You know, my friend Ross, Monica’s cool, Chandler, god, could he be so funny?
We’re grown ups. Punching is called battery and they’ll take you to jail for it.
The woman has enough alcohol.
It’s like an emergency tent at Coachella.
If she serves anything, it definitely has herpies.
What!?
No you can’t arrest me today!
The next day, you are the authority, the van’s gone.
I need you to cover a case for me.
Objection. We get.
Sustained.
Did you eat for the food, didn’t pay for the food?
Be seated.

10/10

Cougar Town 6.03

Great episode. Reminded me of the great ones from the early seasons when everything was Jules/Ellie.

They’re screwed.
Actually, I’ll take the compliment.
What’s the challenging part?
Oh, I’m not hearing a problem.
S’up Perv’stach.
I had to use both hands.
It might have been the alcohol.
Yeah! And we gve it to them.
We’re out of 3 grand.
Bless you.
Are you calling me a liar?
Are you ready to sex up this joint?
Sure is, baby.
Is that right?
It’s you. My new Bobby. It’s you!
Why you’re being creepier than usual?

8.5/10

Castle 7.12

Witty, but very average. Brad from Gilmore Girls plays the hotel personnel.

And not see Castle.
I’m looking for a private detective.
She’s absolutely right a d completely unbiased.
Canvasing? Or you mean that thing you let Ryan and Espo do.
What was the strange thing you’ve noticed.
That smoking hot detective was asking about the same thing too.
But this UBS drive.
I have my operative looking into other clues.
Maybe your opinion’s not so objective.
This is not my limo.
What’s her name?
Havier.

5.5/10

Shameless 5.02

What an episode, hands down, Shameless is back. Fiona proved she is chaos. Getting punched twice in the same day by two diffrent strangers may be the exact definition of chaos.

Did you leave either kid on the porch and went on a drug run?
Just like these asholes who don’t speak English are doing.
Let me get my pepper spray.
He’s one block over at Sheila’s.
More butter.
Apologise to my waitress.
I think Chucky is moderly retarted. Someone should tell Sammy.
I hope it’s better than his sad display of mentally disabled art.
He was with two very clean lesbians.
Double? It has scam written all over it.
Terrible fucking idea.
Did they offer cash upfront? Cash today?
She has a good nose for scam.
I don’t think you’re invited.
Why you done with the public pool? Someone shit in it? Someone shit om you?
I don’t know this feeling. It’s hate. I hate your daughter, Frank.
You look really pretty, Mandy.
Hi, I really need to talk to the priest.
Did you take something?
A job for illegal immigrants and ex cons.
I need to go to the alibi. Job requirement.
I’m gonna want you for that.
You’re a chaos junkie.
Why was there a hooker’s tit in mu baby’s mouth!?
It’s just hair. It’ll grow back.
It’s a starbucks.
Gentrification.
Genital what?
14 will get you 20.

Switched at Birth 4.03

I almost cried and rewinded three times when Daphne introduced John as her dad. I feel for Iris, she made a great point, she helped Daphne study and found her an interpreter, yet she didn’t get help in return.

What’s your favorite horror film?
Psycho.
Happy 50ish birthday.
Have you ever been convicted of a fellony?
Forensic evidence? Are you a criminology major?
Charity work?
Environmental clean up.
I didn’t know that made sound.
How do you know John Kennish?
He’s my dad.
I’m just the dumb hearing girl wno no one wants to slow down enough to talk to.
This kid has a future in baseball and I’m gonna help him.
It’s ASL, when everyone’s together, I’m all lost.
Stop it.
Make me.

6.5/10

Pretty Little Liars 5.16

Isn’t it hilarious how this show used to be just something to watch in the background for four years and now it’s the only way to get through Wednesday? How boring my life must have gotten over the year that I’m actually looking forward to every new episode? I watch it before Cougar Town and Switched at Birth. I almost cannot say a bad word about it anymore. The show is satisfying without Alison. I really hope Mona is in that barrell, as I did not see it coming.

Aria, this is the letter you wrote to Jackie.
You’re mad that I bailed or that I walked in on your wild college weekend.
Oh you can’t find the copy of the invoice?
So your boyfriend’s a cop.
From Mona Vandervaal.
You sound really echoey, like you’re in an airduct.
That’s because I am in an airduct.
He’s keeping it to build a case against one of us.
That she’s in there.
Mona was a lot of things, but she didn’t deserve this.
I like him and like him with you.
It’s just a bunch of kids sitting on bunk beds trying to figure out what yo do with the rest of their lives.
Hanna, it’s rented in your name and I’m pretty sure that Mona’s body is hidden inside of it.

Two shows mentioned Sophie’s Choice this week, coincidence?

Parenthood 6.11

Let’s go home. There are no words to describe how much I’ll miss this show.

10/10

SVU 16.11

Very disapointed with this case. A 15 year old meets up with a movie star she has a crush on and ends up hooking up with another movie star.

Something happened to me?
The driver pulled over and got into the back with me.
That’ll get you trending.
The waiter saw him do body shots off of her.
Hello, somebody had sex with a drunk and drugged 15 year old girl.
Motherhood gas really changed you, Liv.
Call me Big G.
I believe you’ve met Big G.
Life umitates art, I get that.
I didn’t want Scott to find out I cheated on him.
Definitely not, but nice try.
Check please.

Revenge 4.12

I don’t know what they’re doing or why I keep giving it a 10. I desperately need to see Victoria in action instead of watching David screw everything up for our characters.

Death for Victoria would me merciful.
The devil can have it.
My other partner in crime.
You’ll spare Victoria’s life again.
I’m really gonna miss you.
This may become your farawell takedown.
What if yiur friend finds out about your obsessive tendencies?
That their father died assaulting an innocent woman?
You gave her criminal file?
Okay, Louis may be crazy.
I questioned Emily myself.
I’m sure you did.
Actually, I think you have.
I need to start with a damaged little girl called Amanda Clarke, also known as Emily Thorne.
Look what I found. This is so much better.

8/10

American Horror Story 4.12

I hate where this show eneded up this year. I was actually surprised when tjey killed Maggie off and that they changed Stanley to Meep. Or that they wanted to kill Elsa! What on Earth is happening this year. The only thing I like is that Dandy’s the new owner now. I wondered how he’s story’s gonna end and this seems fitting. The finale’s next week and I’m more scared about what they’ll pull off than how sad I am that it’s ending. I hope Jessica does one more season.

You tried to kill my dreams, but they cannot be murdered.
You came.
Of course.
But I asked myself, Dandy, how can you be of help?
You look like shit.
Maggie’s next. Elsa’s next.
Looks like you’re gonna have a shot at normal life.
But where would I go?
I’m the new owner.

8.5/10

Bad Judge 1.12

If only every episode was this good. At episode 12, I’m starting to grow to this family. Sad the series finale’s next week.

Let’s a game. Secrets.
You obviously skied on acid.
It was Sophie’s choice.
Because my number 4 was in high school.
Young hopeful and stinky.
What is she George Clooney’s wife?
Wallets get paid more than that.
They’re making Toy Story 4.
I am the law and I’m going for it.
It’s awesome, isn’t it?
The only relationship that end mutualy are those when two people die in the same car accident.
Soy sauce?
Garbage dog’s getting bath.
Of course.
Is it bra food?
It’s almost like I sensed that you and Jim are having problems.
Have you told Jim how you feel?
Having a baguette.
It’s brilliant.
Yeah sure, that too.
This would make a terrible episode of Law and Order.
She toured with The Black Eyed Peas but just briefly.
Bank is gonna be closed for a while.
Are you fucking kidding me?

10/10

Cougar Town 6.02

This show used to be so good. Remember when Shonda Rhimes was freaking out about the Penny Can and how happy she was about some advanced episodes that Bill Lawrence sent her? And how she was taking about Wednesdays with wine and Cougar Town? Well that was me too. I won’t complain anymore because I know I’ll be sad not once when It ends. I’ll look back and remember only the good things. Happy Birthday little Bobby Cobb! Can you belive Laurie has a kid with Travis? I can’t! I go back to season one in my mind and just can’t believe it.

Move dude, emergency.
Obviosly, you’re pregnant.
Said no.
Did we have awful public schools.
Fancy pants.
I feel so.
Can we mke her wear the dress?
But move this car.
I need to be with people I love, where nothing changes.
Are they for a girl or a boy? Yes. Shut up, Tom.
Bobby, meet Bobby.

7/10

Castle 7.10

We haven’t had an episode this funny in years! And how can the case not be good when the dog is the witness! A little competition never harmed anyone and it might have been what the show needed.

How a woman so astud could marry a man like Castle?
I’m now Richard Castle, Private Investigator.
I’m sorry that’s confidential too.
A private investigator!?
Who are you and what are you doing with a dead woman’s dog?
Bitch, I know where you live.
I’m just making sure you filled it out correctly.
I was just discussing it with the writer you married.
Welcome to Richard Castle Investigations.
You said married people tell each other things.
My God, I’ve missed this.
We’re definitely on top of him.
When she took something beautiful we had together and shared it with another man.
Oh thank god, now what are you doing here?
The dog is the witness!?

8/10

Shameless 5.01

Shameless came back poorly. I always expect this show to blow my mind and this week it simply didn’t. I enjoyed Sheila’s problems with Frank’s daughter, but other than that, it was disapointing. But in the end, Frank’s back living with Sheila and that’s all I need.

Yoy’re lying to your notebook.
Are you expecting a loss of appetite?
Are you my father?
Don’t think so, kid.
And dry humping that man on my couch.
Plus it’s free.
Forgot that argument.
Screw those bitches.
We’re gonna party up Gallagher style.

5/10

The Simpsons 26.11

The show that never disapoints and keeps me sane on crazy Mondays. A very good episode. ‘Stay 10 forever’ is what I’d like to wish to all of us.

That would explain a lot.
If I was Fred Flinston.
It’s such a big ass.
For the first time I actually have to do my job.
It’s called a double standard.
I could direct films like Angelina Jolie.
Look back at the elephant.
What if those clowns parked in the same lot as us?
Maybe there’s a better Wifi in the freak tent.
Oh not again.
I’m not? Good. Am I sick?
Is that a grown man going between the children’s legs?
It’s on page one of the rule book.
Homo too.
I’ve been emotionally dealing with it the whole week so yeah.
Bye, Bart. Stay 10 forever.

7.5/10

Switched at Birth 4.02

Far from good, the only thing that kept me through the episode was the thought of the teacher being the Claire Danes’s mom in My So Called Life. God, I loved this show. Why didn’t we find 5 minutes for Marlee Matlin, yet we focused on Regina and East Riverside bullshit again. I can’t imagine how hard it must be for Daphne to go to all hearing college. Bay’s drama is so overrated, the show insists on reminding us it’s a teen show.

You let the door slam after you.
Thanks so much!
It looks like you’re saying end of peace, but I know that’s not right.
They’re meeting without you.
You had to fight their battles.

2.5/10

Pretty Little Liars 5.15

I am really enjoying the college talk. I don’t mind Ashley sleeping with Jason, she deserves to be appreciated and we never see the priest anymore. Aria got into a mediocre college and somehow isn’t too sad about it. I loved her letter to Jackie. It was potentially a very atupid move, but exactly what I would have done. Write a killer personal statement. They wanted personal? They got personal. I was surprised to actually see a grown up version of Jackie instead of the unforgiving and childish one we met a few seasons back. Spencer and Caleb duo is something to look forward to.

Whatever happened to a thank you card?
How many schools did you get into?
Did I miss something, when did you become a professional chef?
I know it hurts. It’s a temporary setback.
I don’t need a dramatic reading of it. I wrote it.
I made these. Eat one.
Because somebody was burried in it.
There’ll be no rest for the wicked.
Burn your life down.

5/10

The Good Wife 6.12

I know it may be one of the shows best seasons, but I honestly don’t feel it most of the times. I couldn’t be happier about getting David back! He brings absurd humor which this show needs.

I don’t even recognise these people.
I’ve missed this. All usul disasters.
What does that have to do with my married life?
You know you can tape whatever you want.
I don’t have feelings for you.
We want you back, David.
The governor’s stepping in for the mayor.
I’ve came home Alicia. We’re partners again.
I’m gonna win.

5.5/10

Eye Candy 1.01

Following R.L. Stine’s every project since the 90s. I am very upset about The Haunting Hour cancellation. The pilot was good enough, I will watch the series.

Sarah!
Filthy crooked teeth. Now I have to kill you.
He must have known I’ll be able to do this.
Too love me. Stalk me. Kill me?
She’s hacking their phones.
No, that’s not legal.
He’s at the apartment with you, get out!
Say it or he’ll die without knowing.

Congrats to Julianne Moore on winning a Golden Globe for her startling performance in Still Alice!

Shameless is back next week! What’s with shows and Taylor Swift this week? SVU’s ‘Welcome to New York.’ ‘Aww just like the song’; Parenthood’s ‘We’re not out of the woods yet’ The Simpsons’s ‘Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet?’ Not Taylor Swift really, but got me thinking of ‘Are we out of the woods yet? Are we out of the woods yet’, and finally I watched the new Disney version of Into the Woods yesterday and I swear I waited for the song to be used in the closing credits.

Parenthood 6.10

All the Braverman mothers talking about motherhood was everything I wanted. Hank finally showed he is good enough to be Sarah’s match. The writers focused on showing us Hank adapting in a stressful and uncomfortable situation when he wants to help, but his Aspergers robbed him from certain social skills, to see him evolve and figure out what’s right or not to talk about was magical. Drew was feeling guilty about the Paris trip. And like I said in the intro, when the doctors said ‘We’re not out of the woods yet’ I smiled and automatically thought of Mae and how obsessed she, Sarah and Miles were with this Taylor Swift song. Also, Jesse Marchant’s Remembers Defeats from the incredible opening scene is still on repeat. Plus, I obviously cried through the entire episode, but my father teared up at three scenes, and that says something as he usually says ‘they’re not real, stop crying’, but for some reason, never when we watch Parenthood. I know we’ll both miss the show deeply.

No! Damn it.
Walk of shame.
We’ll get there on time. I mean.
Also, rip off someone who can afford it.
Grandma’s 94 or sth and dad’sin ICU.
Zeek, we’re all here.
I’m sorry, It’s family members only. He’s my husband.
That’s all we know.
Life is short, baby. You gotta hang in there.
He doesn’t even eat right. I saw him by the candy machine buying tweezlers.
Favorite loser.
Thank you for being there for me. For my family, for my dad.
That’s why we probably should be vegetarians.
That’s why we should get married.
Amber, Drew. I love you. I love you too.
Don’t ever give up on your own dreams.

10/10

SVU 16.10

Just imagine none of this would hape if Amanda didn’t feel this sibling need to protect her little sister. After what happened to her in Atlanta she should have never helped her siater again. She brought so much trouble on Rollins back in season 13. And what on earth happened to Liv? I was really hoping she would apologise for never asking what happened in Atlanta, and for being so harsh on Rollins after what she did last year. But most importantly, I wanted to see her take Amanda to her psychiatrist, make sure she gets help and won’t put herself in any more mess.

Is Liv already in?
The vic is that young detective from Atlanta.
I’m sorry I need to take this.
It isn’t just going to go away.
Yeah it will.
You can never tell who’s capable of anything.
I think Amanda Rollins put her and you up for this.
Just leave me be.
She’ll get over it. She’ll pretend like it never happened. If you pretend long enough, after a while It’s like none of it happened.
He thinks he’s entitled.
You think you’re Patton’s first good girl?
So everything they said about you is not true?
No.
No piece for your old friend Sam?
NYPD won’t bend over.
Bend over?
That girl got what she wanted. Just like Rollins did.
Amanda, you know I don’t take no for a answer.
He pinned my hands above my head and he told me I wasn’t going anywhere and no one would believe me. I gave up. He raped me.
Are you talking about Amanda Rollins? I didn’t rape her or that other girl.
Does that include any other blond young detectives you mentored?
You’re only as sick as your secrets.
Can you go back to that detective?

10/10

Revenge 4.11

Victoria seems completely harmless without Conrad. I hate where the story is going now. Did we really have to turn Daniel to a villain? Wouldn’t it be easier to just kill David? He brought his own trouble to the Hamptons and he’s starting to get really annoying. Also, he wants to kill Victoria and I simply won’t watch when Madeleine leaves, so they better stay away from her. I really hope the writers will bring the order back to where it was at the end of the season and Victoria back to the Grayson manor. I am starting to like Margot, she’s making it her life mission to avenge Emily. I just hope they won’t kill her off. Why is Jack taking personal days? You don’t look suspicious at all.

Daniel! Daniel!
Wait what did they say?
Basement it is.
You left the key in the rear door.
What kind of monster would that make me.
Dude, who you’re talking to?
Victoria’s gonna stay here.
Are you out of your mind?
I’m so…
You’re welcome.
Sorry, did you just say a father.
What?
Underneath all the scar tissue.
The night of our wedding.
Someone is headed for Disney world.
I’m sorry about Daniel.
I know.
I’m going to make it my life’s journey to see you pay for what you’ve done.
No but she can.
Soon you’ll be teaching your own son how to do it.
Would you destroy it please. That way we won’t have any more funerals.
It’s always the little things that get ya.

10/10

American Horror Story 4.10

This season is very messy. I just want to see Elsa make it in Hollywood already and be done with it. I really hoped she would sing in every episode, without it it’s just Dandy killing people and a bunch of nothing. I hate that they have already killed the best characters. Did we really have to kill Dandy’s mother off? I couldn’t care less about the twins looking for someone to deflower them. At least they brought Nun back. They should have done everything I’m their power to get Lily Rabe.

If you don’t get an ambulence now!
We are where we belong.
Imagine that. Being a freak for being normal.
How’s he going to defend himself without his hands?
You can’t get it up without a doll watching you.
Let’s tear this place apart.
Again.
What a psycho. Tell me. How did they die?
We should have been included.
You’re a magician. You’re gonna saw thslis in half.
Homo erectus nonsense.
That’s all I needed to hear.

I cannot figure out why this show chooses to sabotage itself on every possible occasion, when it had so much potential.

If things don’t go your way, you may never see a woman again.
Is it true you have a sextape?
There was never porn on it before.
He’s never seen a woman naked, has he?
She’s done a lot worse.
How low? A squirrel came to my house.
Feels so much later in my heart.
Is this the group sex thing?
You don’t see me walking around judging people.

5.5/10

Cougar Town 6.01

The final season started very poorly.

What? Fat.
Baby socks with nickles.
Just tell your atupid story, Tom.
Imaginary hat.
I have so many strechmarks on my ass.
My garage is completely sound proof.
On the other hand, secret wine bar.
Should have worn a condom.
You’re not 40.

4.5/10

The Simpsons 26.10

I really thought I was gonna hate this one, but it was so funny. President Coin was read by the same person who read Mockingjay’s audiobook? Lisa made me want to go back to veganism.

Are we there yet?
This time I’m gonna write down where I parked. ‘Parking lot.’
You planted that on me, man.
Don’t get off the bug.
Welcome to the bug, welcome to the bug.
Acid.
I don’t like the end sound of that.
Tooton Abbey.
Come on, start this thing, I’m not impressed.
Potato chips. D’oh. D’oh! Stupid kid, you ruin every trip.
Sure pick the only two times in history when thinga got messy.
Can I turn my phone on yet?
Homer, you have to stop dropping your pants in front of everyone who claims to be a doctor.
In Sophie’s Choice she chose the boy.
Kid’s got talent, but come on.
The Hunger Games.
Silence.
That all will be eaten.
Hommus and rice cakes.

9.5/10

Switched at Birth 4.01

This may be one of my favorite episodes of the show. We’re in college now and I have to admit, I did get emotional very quickly and stayed that way till the end. I absolutely adored John’s reaction to the news of Bay taking the blame. I am not sure if I am happy about Daphne not going to Galudett when they have a real pre med program, but as long as we’re keeping Marlee Matlin on the show, I’m happy. Just imagine how average the show would be without her. I can’t wait to see Daphne at college, the show it’s gonna get better just because of that.

I saved my sister’s life and I feel lucky.
That is brilliant!
Bay Kennish, you’re under house arrest.
Melody, some parents want to meet you.
Yeah, I heard that.
With some dude who arranged to have a brick thrown at your mother’s head?
A family feel.
She said as long as I’m in college she’s fine with it.
You redit it.
What deaf program?
You’re hard of hearing?
Fully deaf.
Someone fluent in ASL and chemistry before Monday?
Her other mom.
She just gave me a 100 days more of community service.
How would you like to make a hell lot of money this semester?
I can’t believe there’s even one of you.
So you can go off and make films for your community from your perspective.

Pretty Little Liars 5.14

I don’t know, sometimes I think I’m 15 or sth, cause I cried when Ali finally got arrested and the detective told Spencer they dropped the charges and they now think Ali killed both Mona and Bethany. How could I not cry? Bitch is behind bars and that’s all that matters. Even though she’s not A, she still deserves pain for being mean and bitchy to everyone. The girls are finally talking about college, It’s annoying how they stretched out 2 years to 5 years. The police playing the tape of Mona’s murder was my favorite part of the episode. Also, they got Mrs Grunwald back, but she couldn’t tell us more than that Mona’s in purgatory. The arrest scene was excellent as well, felt proud the girls were there. It’s surprising how I finally stopped complaining about the show and now actually think my life would be missing something without Rosewood.

Showing up to your victim’s funeral. Classy.
It was her, Alison, alive.
We all wanted to stuff Ali in that empty coffin.
It all seems to go back to Radley, doesn’t it?
Whistle.
I want you to help me find the body of the girl that’s suppossed to be in that box.
I know she’s your sister, but so am I.
I see, but through a glass, darkly.
There’s no peace. Only fear.
Sure ali has an alibi, but how strong can it be when Ali’s DNA is found at the crime scene.
Okay. Teach me.
You guys tell Mona’s mom she has cameras in her house.
Mona put them in herself.
Shut up, Ali.
Alison DiLaurentis, you’re under arrest for the murder of Mona Vandervaal.
The Mona you knew. The real Mona.
I bought a 69 dollar ticket to Atlantic City.
The police thinks Alison set you up.
She got out.
No gates, no dams, no barriers.
No I do not accept this.
They don’t allow fireworks in prison, right?

10/10

The good wife 6.11

Kalinda got herself Into some serious mess. I wish they showed us more scenes of Diane killing it. Weren’t we just shipping Alicia with Palmer? Why is she kissing the head of her campaign? I haven’t seen an episode the entire Christmas break but wasn’t she having accidental dates with Palmer? I’m glad Cary’s out but at what price. Also, that was quick. I really thought Cary would go to jail.

Yeah, he’ll call you. Like it’s the first day of school.
Now let’s find you a white friend.
Export not import.
Judge doesn’t like you.
Take her phone. Hide it.
6hours.
We’ve had worse.
What the hell?
This is very dramatic.
Less talking. More sex.
Chew like this.
How about you show me how to make it hypothetically.
I can’t figure anything out.
We pulled it from his computer.
Sit down and stop lying.
You’re free to go Mr Agos.

The Theory of Everything. Boyhood. The Imitation Game. Unbroken. Whiplash. Big Eyes. Into the Woods. Selma. Inherent Vice.

Congrats to Julianne Moore on winning a Golden Globe for her fantstic role in Still Alice. Here are the remaining Golden Globe nominated films this year. Plus Unbroken, which should have been nominated.

The Theory of Everything

…was everything. Eddie outshined everyone in the lead actor category. If he doesn’t win an Oscar, the Academy’s wrong. Felicity’s competition is too tight to leave her with a statuette next month. A beautiful story, like all of the nominated ones. I wish It could win best picture.

10/10

Boyhood

From the director of Dazed and Confused comes a story that feels like a teen film, but for some reason feels profound. Must me the 12 year shooting period? Nah, it’s the kids and Patricia and the directing and the coloring and the ‘Now it’s only death left scene’. It will probably win all best film awards.

9.5/10

The Imitation Game

My dad argues with me it isn’t historically correct, and I’m not in a posision to argue with a history fanatic. Benedict did a fantastic job. I love that it touched homosexual plot just slightly and wasn’t over excessive. I loved the casting and the flashbacks.

Six minutes… is that even possible?
No, it takes me eight. You’re finished?… Five minutes forty-eight seconds.
You said to finish under six minutes.

8/10

Unbroken

This film is incredible, It should get so much more recognision. So should Angelina Jolie. It’s her third picture and by now we can see she’s on the right way to being a genius director.

9/10

Whiplash

It could only be better if it was a true story. J.K. Simmons will win all the awards. Should have been nominated for best picture.

10/10

Big Eyes

With your Big Eyes and your big lies…
How come Lana didn’t win best song? And why wasn’t it nominated for best comedy? I have already seen it twice. I always loved Margaret’s Ulbrich’s work and wished this part of her life was portrayed. I am not sure if throwing the matches through a key hole was what actually happened, but It had me stunned. All the terpentine mentions for someone who was an oil painter and art major in high school and for whom terpentine was the one smell that stuck for months, I admired all the mentions. Christopher’s acting throughout the whole scene and the ‘I’ll have you whacked’ made this film my fourth favorite film this year.

10/10

Into the Woods

Doesn’t bring anything new to the famous musical, and barely anyone can sing and yet everyone would kill to be a part of this film.

I was raised to be charming, not sincere.

6.5/10

Selma

Good, but not 12 years of slave. All the bridge scenes are impressive, the story should have been more detailed and they should have defenitely strech it to Dr. King’s death. Unfortunately, it was boring at times. I truly thought a story this great could have been shown more significantly. And they definitely should have hired more famous black actors and not just Oprah, especially since they gave her only an episodic role.

7/10

Inherent Vice

This was without a doubt Paul Thomas Anderson’s most messed up film. I have worshipped Magnolia and Boogie Nights for years. Films like The Master, There Will Be Blood, Hard Eight or Punch Drunk Love were all mastepieces. And yet this one, I just could not swallow, even when Paul teamed up the Walk the Line duo Joaquin Phoenix and Reese Witherspoon.

Rest in peace, Edward Herrmann, a man of many talents. We’ll remember your fantastic roles in countless films. And maybe, just maybe, one day I’ll watch Gilmore Girls and instead of crying buckets of tears of grief and feeling honored to have fallen in love with your Richard Gilmore, I’ll only feel honored and proud. I hope your work will forever be loved and aknowledged.

First films of year 2015. I promised not to watch any bad or mediocre ones and I kept the promise so far, well not really, but It could have gone much worse.

The Goonies

One of my favorites of Steven Spielberg. It has everything, wit, friendship, adventure to begin with. Shame only one of the kids had great carreer, they were all incredibly bright and talented. I could simply rewatch it straight away.

8/10

The Apartment

No one is surprised about those 5 Oscars. Simply genius. So are performances of Jack Lemmon and Shirley MacLaine, but that’s no surprise either. It was funny and sad and it had the right amount of romance.

9/10

Jaws

I could not stop myself from rewatching it for the 10th time. I always loved that the show off dies, this scene remains my favorite.

10/10

Along Came A Spider

Or the first Alex Cross book. It was just as good as Kiss The Girls. I remember how mesmorised I was by James Peterson’s Kiss The Girls when I read it when I was ten. And then I saw the film and it was lacking something, but I don’t think Along Came A Spider is. Morgan Freeman is Cross and I tried to watch the new Alex Cross and I couldn’t make it past 15 minutes. I will never be able to see anyone else as Cross, as Morgan did that Morgan thing where he aces his roles every single time. It also features young Monica Potter and If you haven’t read the book, you’re in for a surprise. By the end of it I started getting nostalgic already, and all I could think of was, why aren’t all thrillers this good.

8/10

Death Valley

I watched it in honor of Edward Herrmann, sadly his character sang only in one scene. A movie itself was very mediocre. I admired the first half when the boy was the main character.

3/10

Wind Chill

I can’t explain this one, I wanted to watch a horror similar to Dead End, as I’m still not over how good it was. Even though the ending was predictable, it had so much charm. Wind Chill, though a similar storyline, fell apart really quickly. Why didn’t she go to the phone tower earlier?

Favorite episode? The winter season finale, because of the wonderful speech about Amy realising she’s been in love with her best friend for all these years and how painful it was to fake it. It dropped below 5 at episode 8. I shouldn’t be watching a show that’s this average, but I can’t stop watching.

The show I have recently come back to. I do think the whole Cary in jail arc is unecessary and we should have just focused on being Florrick Agos and Lockhart. I would love to see how they work with Diane now that they’re partners.

Welcome to ReviewThisFilm

This website started as weekly reviews on movies and tv episodes, and a diary of the 700 new films I watched every year. Today it’s a place for me to write a few words on films and tv shows that leave some sort of impact on me. I no longer write in depth reviews, partially thanks to bad habits gained by spending many hours a day on Letterboxd, and partially because of my demanding day job.

If you have a film you would like me to watch and review,  please leave a comment.

Enjoy!

About me

I am the dark and twisty Meredith Grey, the mad Dexter Morgan, hoping to grow up to be a little more like the wise, but fun Nora Walker. I am an aspiring filmmaker. My favorite actresses are Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. Favorite genre – psychological drama. I watch anything with a sexual or mental abuse plot. I used to be a horror freak. I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, SVU and many more. My other interests include making oil and pencil portraits and wildlife conservation. I cannot say no to beautiful landscapes, travel, Aussie accent, TV/film quotes and avocados. I have recently moved back from Australia to the UK. I’ve been running this blog for the last 9 years. Here I comment on films and episodes I watch. Enjoy! – Joanne

favourite film and tv quotes

‘When I lived in Porpoise Spit, I used to sit in my room for hours and listen to ABBA songs. But since I’ve met you and moved to Sydney, I haven’t listened to one Abba song. That’s because my life is as good as an Abba song. It’s as good as Dancing Queen.’ (Muriel’s Wedding)

‘I used to think about
your life in New York. I tried to imagine your room. I kept track of the time difference, so I  knew when you were awake and when you were asleep.’ (Disobedience)

‘Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?’ (The Aviator)

‘No, I’m not quitting. I don’t quit things.’
‘No, actually you do. Your mother quit your father. Your father quit you. You quit your boyfriend and if I read your hospital chart correctly you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It’s what you know how to do.’ (Greys)

‘Where the hell was I that year?’
‘Your were watching television’. (Everybody Loves Raymond)

‘It’s impossible to worry about anything else when there’s blood coming out of you.’
(Short Term 12)

‘I wanted it to happen. And when we were girls… Even then, it was the same. It’s always been this way! I have always wanted it.’ (Disobedience)

‘Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a moment when our lives change forever. The moment we admit our weaknesses, the moment we rise to a challenge, the moment we accept a sacrifice, or let a loved one go. And sometimes the change in our lives is an answer to our prayers.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Yesterday I went to the movies all day by myself. One after the other. I’ve never done that before. I had a really happy day.’ (Doing Time for Patsy Cline)

‘I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are going to change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed a feel like I might die today.’ (Greys)

‘She saved me my whole life. Without her, I’m nothing.’ (The Favourite)

‘Don’t wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don’t. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.’  (Greys)

‘Bree sobbed quietly in the restroom for five miutes, but her husband never knew, because when Bree finally emerged, she was perfect.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘I am not food, you cannot just eat and eat.’ (The Favourite)

‘I don’t love him.’
‘Of course you do.’
‘No!’
‘Don’t take me for a fool Olive,  I’m many things but I’m not a fool.’
‘I know that, you’re brilliant.’
‘Don’t you see, it’s over. Whatever this is, was, it’s over.’
‘I love You.’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing, is reason enough to celebrate.’ (Greys)

‘Many years ago, a neighbour and a good friend of ours took her life, and that left us all heartbroken and perplexed. But somehow, when I was alone in that hotel room, I forget about all the pain that she caused. In those awful moments, I thought maybe she had the answer.‘ (Desperate Housewives)

‘What happened last year when you fell in the water?’
‘I almost drowned. Do you think I did that for kicks?’
‘You put your hand in a body cavity that contained unexploded ammunition.’
‘I was trying to save a patient!’
‘Why is it that every other person in that room had the sense to hit the deck? You know people run away from this line between life and death. You seem to stand on it and wait for a strong wind to sway you one way or the other. You’re careless with your life. You’re not slitting your wrists but you’re careless. Probably because your mother told you you were a waste of space on this planet. The problem is you believed her. And if you don’t want out one of these days you’re going to die because of it.’  (Greys)

‘This is the street where I used to live and these were the people with whom I shared my life. I met them the day they moved in. And I saw what they brought with them. Beautiful dreams for the future. And quiet hopes for a better life. Not just for themselves, but for their children, too. If I could, would I tell them what lies ahead? Would I warn them of the sorrow and betrayal that lie in store? No. From where I stand now, I see enough of the road to understand how it must be traveled. The trick is to keep moving forward, to let go of the fear and the regret that slow us down and keep us from enjoying a journey that will be over too soon. Yes, there will be unexpected bends in the road, shocking surprises we didn’t see coming, but that’s really the point. Don’t you think?’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Was your life not working when you let that slip out from under you?’
‘When are you going to stop suggesting that I’m suicidal?’
‘When you start acting like someone that wants to be alive.’
‘Give me my chart.’
‘Why?’
‘Because I’m not suicidal, and if it says that I am, then it’s wrong.’ (Greys)

‘There is nothing wrong with me.’
‘Then show me your arm.’ (Degrassi)

‘Look, my whole life, I have been the freak. The girl who nobody picked for dodgeball. The girl who didn’t have a mom. The girl who dressed funny because it was her dad buying her clothes. And then, tonight I looked at these people, and I thought maybe there’s a future where I don’t have to be a freak. Maybe I can be who I am and that’s okay.’ (Everything Sucks)

‘Dr, I have been this way since…since I can remember. There is no cure.’ (American Horror Story)

‘He was so crazy about me, I couldn’t breathe. So we tried drinking our way back into love, but it never made sense in the morning. So I ran. And every time I came back, he was here. And he was still crazy about me.’ (My Blueberry Nights)

‘Bree van de Kamp had always wanted to live her life with elegance and grace. That is also how she wanted to die. Her plan was to pour herself a glass of her favorite chardonnay, put on her most stylish nightgown and leave behind a note on embossed stationery.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘All we have is this moment. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So be… here…. now.’ (Six Feet Under)

‘On the train coming here, we were in the same cart, I saw you, you were reading and you feel asleep. I didn’t dare to look at you, you were so beautiful, it was scary. Afterwards,  I couldn’t stop thinking about you. It made me smile. Then I thought of all the men who would get to hold you, who’d make you laugh. How lucky they were.’ (Enemy at the Gates)

‘It was a good day. Maybe even a great day. Even when it was hard, I was the me in my head. There was a moment when I thought I cant do this, I cant do this alone. I close my eyes and imagine myself doing it, and I did, I blocked out the fear, and I did it.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a time when we must expose our weaknesses. When our secrets can no longer remain private, when our solitude can no longer be denied, when our pain can no longer be ignored, but sometimes we feel so alone that a weakness we thought we’d overcome suddenly becomes too strong to fight.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Why did you get married, Esti? Why didn’t you just leave? So everything was all right when I left?’
‘No. I was ill.’
‘What sort of ill?’
‘In my head.’
‘If I had to sleep with a man, why not with our best friend?’
‘Oh, Esti…’
‘It hasn’t been a complete disaster.’
‘And that’s enough?! Do you have to have sex every Friday?’
‘It’s expected.’
‘It’s medieval. What happened to you?’
‘Nothing. You happened to me. And then I started teaching and that became important. I give them ambition.’
‘To do what? Push out seven babies and be a good wife?’
‘Don’t. Don’t. I help them to value themselves.’
‘Okay, but what about you?’
‘That is me. And you? Are you happy?’
‘Yes, I am.’
‘Have you been with other women?’
‘No. Not really. And you?’
‘No.’
‘But, Esti… Do you still
only fancy women?’ (Disobedience)

‘OK, then, listen. Let’s not get caught.’
‘What are you talkin’ about?’
‘Let’s keep goin’!’
‘What d’you mean?’
‘Go.’
‘You sure?’
‘Yeah. Yeah.’ (Thelma & Louise)

‘She let me live at Nora’s house. She let me believe that I was a part of their family. I fell in love with that family. What am I supposed to do, just sit there, pretend I’m related to them? I was happy. For the first time in my life I was happy.’ (Brothers and Sisters)

‘You will be left all alone with your bitterness and your rage and your knowledge that you loved her and she loved you and you threw it away for them.’
‘Do you love her?’
‘Yes.’
‘And Have you always?’
‘Yes.’
‘So then ask her.’
‘Olive, will you forgive me?’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘No razors, no scissors, no fucking freedom.’
(Short Term 12)

‘You can’t take a picture of this. It’s already gone.’ (Six Feet Under)
