I’m so behind on film reviews, I owe you almost 200 titles. Here are some of them, and now I’m onto 10 more.

Don’t Tell Mom the Babysitter’s Dead

Oh, The 90s and family films. It’s as hard to find an aboninable one, as to find a stupendous one nowadays. This one was funny and cute, and wouldn’t we all wish to get a stable job without anyone checking our credentials? I am glad the older brother got his act together, but he should have gone to work too, so the film does not come off as sexist. A little over dramatic, a little dark-comedy-ish, but overall a 90 min you definitely won’t want back. Thanks Netflix.

4.5/10

Paper Towns

As much as I enjoyed it as a whole, I thought that leaving town before graduating was an extremely immature behaviour. It looked like she didn’t think she would have to go to work. How do you expect to start over when you’re not going to college and it does not look like you’re going to work either? You can’t just say ‘screw it, I hate this town, I don’t need a high school diploma, and I am not going to work’. How is she going to support herself? I haven’t read the book, but I would rather see Looking for Alaska than this again.

5/10

The Man Who Knew Too Little

Absolutely adored the parts where he didn’t have a clue, which frankly was throughout the whole film. My favorite scene was when he got stopped by the police after running over all the cones and the guy who was chasing him said to his men ‘he’s good, he clearly has connections’ when it was the first time he met the cop. The greek dance was a little long, but none of the less entertaining when he danced with the bomb. This is one of Bill Murray’s quieter projects, but he should do even more comedies like this one.

6/10

When Calls The Heart

Why would they invent a fake aunt, when they could have just done exactly what they did in the series of the same name. They should have introduced Elizabeth as who she was in the book, not her niece finding her diaries and following her footsteps.

2/10

Hidden

Best horror/thriller I have seen in months. Entertaining, claustrophobic, the only problem is the weak ending. I told you Emily Alyn Lind was going to have an amazing career after playing the little Amanda on Revenge, and she really is.

7/10

The Visit

More funny, than scary. I am very glad I could relate to this film on a personal level due to Ed’s character’s obsessive compulsive disorder. But why didn’t he wash his hands after peeing rather than throwing a fit over the tissues being gone. And no OCD person would run around on their hands and knees under the house. The owen scene reminded me of Case 39. A friend of mine watched it before me, and when I asked him he said he can’t tell me as he didn’t want to spoil it for me, but the moment, when thy find out -spoiler- that these people were not their granparents is the absoulte best from the whole film. I don’t think the kids would have dropped their cameras when running out of the house when carried their cameras everywhere with them.

4/10

The Gift

A friend mentioned above said to me he thought the gift would be an actual gift, not rape. The film was a little too long, and lacked action, I really thought it would be more similar to The Purge, but they got a gift as a form of a child, in a creepy pervy ‘The Resident’ way, but they did. The thing is the wife didn’t do a thing to the assailant and she was the one raped and the main character could just as well leave her with the child. If the ending was different, the film would be simply awful.

5/10

The Gallows

It was a little better than the trailer at the cinema suggested. The haunted play takes lives of students involved in the ressurection of the play. Looked low budget and sometimes that’s all a horror film needs.

5/10

Sharknado 3

The first one was entertaining, the second one laughable, the third one, disastrous. I know that Aubrey Peeples is doing great on Nashville but they should not have recast her character. Best scene, when the guys head is bitten off at Jaws Shark Park while taking a picture.

All the remaining episodes are here, now back to weekly tv reviews and film reviews too.  Expect the next post next Saturday, now enjoy!

Greys 12.06

How are we supposed to like Derek’s killer. I hope they’re not gonna make her a series regular. She killed Derek and now she took Arizona’s place.

And you didn’t find that reason enough?
Is there any part of this job that you can handle?
I’m talking to Derek.
And you came in. The spitting image of your mother.

6/10

Greys 12.07

I can’t believe the finale is next week. And yet another 4 month break. This episode they did a skull transplant. Webber being Arizona’s wing man was almost as good as the elevator scene, where Mer told the new McDreamy that her story is too long to tell and when she told Owen she promised Cristina she wouldn’t let him go all dark and twisty. Also Maggie explaining racism and white privelege to Amelia.

Wilson, I have three kids. Three. Do you know how little sleep I get?
Are any interns interning at the lesbian bar?
I wanted to punch her in the face.
Guess where I’m from.
Australia.
Wrong, New Zealand.
I made a promise to Cristina that I wouldn’t let you go all dark and twisty.Just tell me. Do we hate him?
We hate him.
And they’re telling me they’re not boarding coach yet.
Your name is on all the walls. What’s the story there.
It’s too long to tell.
So you wanna grab a drink?
I’m a friend of Owen Hunt’s, so no.

10/10

SVU 17.07

Right on top of my notes it says, ‘The pastor, right?’ and indeed that was the case. One of the best episodes this season, but I really thought brother was the rapist just like in the Dugglars’ case.

I had sexual activity.
You didn’t to anything wrong. You’re still a good person.
That’s what he told me.
How about you write it down?
These issues don’t just go away.
He got her other sister pregnant.
I’ve been binge watching this show.
I’m usually right.
Rollins, you’re alright?
I really screwed up. I won’t be able to do this.
We’ve got family, camera crew, and that pastor.
He gets them away from home.
Married?! She’s 13!
She’s legal.
He is Tate’s baby’s father and I believe the other child’s too.
You need to stop talking to her.
He told me that’s what people in love do.
I want him put away!
Most rapists don’t hunt on the streets, they hunt where they’re trusted.

10/10

Downton Abbey 6.06

I’ll miss this show dearly. It still does not register it’s ending.

Matthew died in a car crash.
Marigold is sweet but why would any man take her on. She’s so stupid to have settled herself with a child.
Could this be love?
Oh shut up.
Shouldn’t we shake out his pockets?
Have you found anyone to hit with it yet?
If I had it my way, I would have hit a lot of them.
No you may not.
My word is still not good enough after all these years.

10/10

Downton Abbey 6.07

So happy for Mr Moseley! Now I just hope he marries Miss Baxter in the Christmas Special.

This is the first place that I’ve laid down some roots.
Nobody is always friendly.
I’ll be very glad If you’ve joined the teaching staff at the village school.
Well done, Mr Moseley.
I can’t give you up.
You will be hurt again, but that is not the reason to give up on the man who is right for you.
What’s so funny?
Just life, Mr Carlson, just life.

8.5/10

Downton Abbey 6.08

Beautiful finale, but they should have went deeper into Thomas’s suicide attempt. I know he’s just the help, but It would be nice to see the emotional fallout. I hope Barrow will be Little Goerge’s Carlson. Sprout will write to Edith’s magazine, under a female nickname. Can’t wait for the Christmas episode.

A house of its repute.
Edith would outrank us all.
She’s quite handful.
You ruined Edith’s life today.
Mrs Pattmore has been loyal to this house and now this house has to be loyal to her.
He said he hoped I made more of myself.
Barrow slit his wrists?
Thomas has cut his wrists.
Do you still think dismissing Barrow was a useful saving, Papa?
And Barrow tries to end his.
Tom says he is in love with you and you’re in love with him.
I can’t be a crash widow again.
Sprout?
I’ll be best man at both of your weddings.

10/10

The Good Wife 7.05

Oh Howard. I haven’t seen him represent one client over the last 7 years, but okay.

I’m doing it alphabetically.
That’s convenient. That’s code for old. That’s code for Jewish.
Old fart. Gargoil.
I call Diane Lockhart to the stand.
I see you’re running an adult day care now.

7.5/10

The Good Wife 7.06

She’s black. She suffered. Like my people.

3.5/10

Scream Queens 1.06

Funny and I don’t get all these stuck up people who think this is crap. Every time they reference The Silence of the Lambs, The Shining or Texas Chainsaw Massacre my day gets a little better.

We have gathered here today because a backstabbing little bitch got exactly what was coming for her.
Like a bunch of hobbos.
This dumb dead bitch.
Have fun being dead.
Will you please go kill some people?
Are you having sex with a goat.
Cops finger Dean Munch.
You wanna play quid quo pro Clarice?
It’s a lawsuit.
No, hooker.
For saying Chad was having sex with a goat.
Liquid laxative.
To young girls getting what’s coming to them.

7.5/10

Nashville 4.07

Jeff is dead and they’re having a concert and Scarlett cut her hair. One of the best episodes this season. Julliette finally asked for help and got sent to a rehab centre.

10/10

How to Get Away with Murder 2.07

Bonnie’s past and Asher covering up rape is all I care about this season. Is Annalise Wes’s mother? Is that what they’re tryng to say? Is that why he got added to the program from the waitlist? Was Annalise checking all her potential students and then saw him and added him from the waitlist. What are the chances that a son would follow his mother’s footsteps without knowing anything about her? Also, the lady who committed suicide was not his biological mom. Are they saying Annalise got pregnant from rape when she was a little girl?

She’s blafing, you idiot.
Who is she? You’re blushing!
Cause I get to see you again.
We run off together.
Four guys took one girl upstairs so don’t you dare say you didn’t know what they were going to do to her.
She went to a party and her life changed forever.
You just keep on being you.I can’t look at you the same anymore.
She told you, didn’t she?
That’s no problem, I’ve got Sam’s money.
He’s not just some student, that’s him.
You exposed me!

10/10

How to Get Away With Murder 2.08

Get on board or you’re the next dead body out there.
Bonnie crying in the shower.
Stop. Call it in.
Bonnie would have already been at the lab.
I need you to be my new Bonnie.
Sinclair has been tapping our house!
Maybe Mr Millstone should be my new Frank.
Speak.
Another one for Mr Millstone.
Miss Castillo could be me one day.
He’s a part of an incest. And she only had one brother.

7.5/10

Scandal 5.07

SVU case. Bill Cosby case.

To tell the president he just hang a medal on a rapist.
The fact that you rape women.
You knew? Did you give him the drugs because you knew what he would do with them?
So if he rapes a few, then it doesn’t matter.
Liz is gonna be the vicepresident’s chief of staff.
He’s not the President anymore. You are.

7/10

Scandal 5.08

First he leaves Mellie, now Liv.

Kill me now.
Olivia is judge, jury and executioner.
Helen of Troy.
I’ve read it throughly.

5/10

Bones 11.05

What is it with Bones this season!?

It tastes like metal.

Bones 11.06

Hi guys. I know I haven’t been reviewing films, (or writing proper reviews of shows either) since summer, but I will once the year ends. I have seen 253 films this year, and I want to make it to 300 by 2016. Here are some reviews I had time to rewrite today, some are missing, but will get posted on the weekend.

Greys 12.05

Oh the ugly dinner. Why are we keeping Derek’s killer on? And the bitch had the audacity to come back and pee in Mer’s bathroom. Shonda is making such a mistake hiring her. Best episode this season.

I like the whole where the wall was.
You’re smiling, like you’re in a hostage video.I like drunk Robbins.
Calliope. I used to call her that.
She’s going to join the program at Grey Sloan Memorial.
It’s where Derek died.
Perfect Penny killed my husband.
Derek was my brother.
Penny killed Derek.
Meredith said she killed him.
Penny was just going to tell me how my brother died.
So tell us how. I wanna know what happened. Tell me what happened.
Tell me the rest. Tell me all of it.
Did he say anything to you before you killed him?
Get her out of my house!
We’ll fire that bitch.
She killed Derek.
You should have told me.
Get her out of here before I kill her

10/10

SVU 17.06

Amanda’s sister is now a hooker. When she said ‘you were raped on the job’ I wished I could punch her through my screen. She never would have been raped if she didn’t have to protect your stupid ass. Also their mother is not much better as it turns out with her ‘maybe by then you’ll learn the value of family’. Important to point out: Kimmy convincing their mother it’s her agent calling her not her pimp. The new sergant is annoying and does not know anything.

No, that could be DNA.
What happens at SVU, stays at SVU.
Help Amanda and her baby.
You were raped on the job.

10/10

SVU 17.08

The new seargant is clearly not SVU material. He messes every case up and doubts Liv all the time! Come on, Liv knows what she’s doing!

He’s successful.
For your facebook page?
Its for Rollins. She’s gonna be pissed she missed it.

4/10

Downton Abbey 7.05

You’ve read too many novels, you’ve seen too many movies.

8/10

Switched at Birth 4.19

Do I really want to work for free?
Who cares what your mom does for a living?
Who said they need to be fixed.
What’s wrong with being abnormal.
Why is it that you tell her everything?
You chose her. Like always. Right now it feels like the last 4 years never happened.
You’re taking my job?

7/10

Switched at Birth 4.20

John being jealous and being mad at Katherine for wearing a tight but not so revealing dress. 10 months later Bay is a tattoo artist. And the last line that reminded me of Lost, ‘we have to go back’. I am said the second halfof season 4 flew by so quickly. I know I would have appreciated this show more If they played it as always, during summer, so no other shows get in the way. And I’m disapointed, as it may mean that we won’t get new episodes in January, but March or something.

You’ve got to let her go.
Your boyfriend payed 400 for the night.
In that dress.
You will be the artist you want to be, someday.
Go on your own.
I’m gonna do that.
But it gets better. I promise.
You should come with me.
To China?
You’ll bring your sketchbook. Get inspired.
The Switchters.
He’s perfect. He’s absolutely perfect.
Look at us honey, we are grandparents.
Carlton now. Carlton forever.
10 months later.

9.5/10

Bones 11.04

Booth stresses over Bones killing off a characted based on him.

You can’t kill Agent Andy. He’s based on me.
Thanks for the spoiler alert.
He’s easily replaceable. Just like agent Andy.
You’re killing Agent Andy? But he’s your husband.

4/10

Castle 8.05

Who knows, you guys. All Castle cases are the same.

6/10

Grandfathered 1.05

Gerald (Son).
Move the freaking car, man!
I think Vanessa has the car situation handled.
He was blasting Taylor Swift.
She was crying. He was loving it.

3.5/10

Grandfathered 1.06

You’re taking advice from a prepubescent kid.
Hacking into your mainstream.
That woman who tamed George Clooney.
And you are attractive.
I already told everyone in the bus over here.
Fake enthusiasm.
I’m binging on ice cream.
That’s not ice cream.
My sweat is staining up my shirt.
Are you using me for shade.
You were blessed with a big head, share your gift.
It’s locked it’s locked it’s a push.
I don’t play baseball. Did you bring it from your house.
My Amal is out there somewhere.

7/10

Nashville 4.03

Deacon’s sister dies.

3/10

Nashville 4.04

Yes idiot. I know.
I’m upset because I can’t be the way I am with you around people.
If I didn’t work with people with complicated lives, there would be no one to write with.

5/10

Nashville 4.05

Maddie sang with Juliette and lost her virginity to Colton all in one episode.

5/10

Nashville 4.06

Why is Dean’s sister from Gilmore Girls being a dumb groupie? Maddie is acting out. I guess they had to kill Jeff off as he joined Scream Queens.

What you wear what song you choose leaves a mark about who you are as an artist and as a person.
What is it, drugs, booze?
You are so talented.
You’re practically her father.
She was a born performer.
I would like to sing you one of her songs. She used to close every show with that song.

7/10

Scream Queens 1.05

I’m gonna look like a skinnier Angelina Jolie.
Someone always goes lesbian.
It’s super weird that you sleep with so many old people.
A panic room. Jodie Foster’s was small and gross.
I’m about to get murdered.
The only thing we can do is watch him die.
There wa snever any food in there. Just laxatives.
You and I are gonna outlive that nerd.
Thank you for making that announcement that no one cares about.
What a great way to pretend all those people we knew were not brutally murdered.

7.5/10

Scream Queens 1.07

I love Jamie Lee Curtis in this, but I do love her in everything.

And i do best to try to pretend I listen.
I saw that movie 50 times.
Just cause some damn hoe got murdered in it.
You know a woman’s face was burned with it?
We dont really eat around here.
This university can survive a series of killings.
You know why I never went into therapy? Beause the less we know about ourselves, the better.
Two babies?
That unusually weird girl with weird candle fetish.
You toothless inbreds.
Stupid foreign assholes.
Grace is the killer and this thing proves it.
You can stop killing everybody.
Why are you the same size as a 40 year old woman.
We all have mommy issues.

7.5/10

The Leftovers 2.03

Amy Brenneman centric episode. Finally. Laurie ran off some Guilty Remnants, and broke into some people’s house to get her laptop back from a kid.

I just need a file off that laptop.

7/10

The Leftovers 2.04

Evangeline as in Evangeline Lilly. Nice touch Lindeldolf.

Did it happen again? Are the people gone? Are they gone?
And then there are people who really wanna fucking die.

6/10

The Leftovers 2.05

Definitely my favorite episode this season, with Matt not being able to go back to Miracle and signing himself up for public punishment, by ‘carrying a cross’ just like Jesus did.

We live here.
I wanna free him. Because it’s my turn.

9.5/10

The Leftovers 2.06

Why so little Amy Brenneman this season? We’re halfway through and she’s been in 2 episodes.

Did you touch her that day?
Yeah its called lensing.
Because we asked them for help and they banished your brother.
I’m a lens?
Yes.
Demon has chosen you.
Say it again and say it slow.
It’s Laurie Garvey.

3.5/10

Scandal 5.05

Weirdos, focus.
A criminal, a whore, and idiot and a liar.
You fired Elizabeth?

6/10

Scandal 5.06

I don’t recall.
Olivia Pope’s band of lawbreakers.
Harrison Wright.
We’re all going to hell.
I didn’t say kill, you really have to let that go.
How sick is this. How sick are you?
He killed your son. My father killed your son.
Please hold for senator Grant.
You are my freedom.
You are going to make me the President of the United States.

10/10

The Good Wife 7.04

This is not To Kill a Mockingbird or Anatomy of a Murder.

6.5/10

The Simpsons 27.04

My friend actually did this, asked the police if he has the right to restrain a guy who attacked him a few days prior.

24 years trying to kill a 10-year-old boy.
Let’s move on to the next suspect.
Yes, there are intruders in my basement. Do I have the right to shoot.

3.5/10

The Simpsons 27.05

You gave money to this idiot?
Homer something.
You got into a fight with her because she wanted to give you a bike?

3.5/10

Faking It 2.20

What an awful finale, remember how good the season one finale was or the first half of season 2? When Amy told Karma about her feelings? Lauren can’t leave to Texas, she’s probably my favorite character, with her constant ‘What the fuck is this?’

You can tell me that kiss meant something.
I can’t.

Here are some quick October reviews. Look out for the remaining 15 episodes this Thursday.

Greys 12.04

Derek’s killer is Callie’s new girlfriend.

Who screws the interns?
The father of my children.
I’m a widow, I’m dead inside. I’m widow Grey, I’m all okay.
Yours is the face they will remember for the rest of their lives.
I’ve had that great amazing love.

9.5/10

Downton Abbey 7.04

Robert better not die. This is not Parenthood. Moseley and Baxter better end up together, and they better show us. Rose came back and acted weirdly. The writers need to understand that none of us cares about the hospital.

Trying to get through life the best that we can.
And you’re wrong about me, I mind what people say.
But he hasn’t ruined you, has he? And the proof is you’re standing here.

10/10

Castle 8.04

As I asked myself where the f do I recognise this guy from It got to me that it’s Gabby’s pervy stepfather from Desperate Housewives.

No, no. Well, yes, yes.
Pathological liars anonymous.
The blind priest just ran away.

6/10

How To Get Away With Murder 2.04

This season seems much less planned out.

Do you actually think that murdering someone is not a big deal?
I think about it a lot. Killing myself. Have been since I was a child.
If I don’t deserve to die, than you definitely don’t.
Let’s all find a cliff and go out in style.

4/10

How to Get Away with Murder 2.05

We finally got Bonnie’s back story and it was painful, and the show is finally getting more valuable again.

I found Wes and Nate last night?
Screwing?
That man is her father.

1.5/10

How to Get Away with Murder 2.06

I see what you’re saying, Asher is dating Bonnie who as a child was sexually abused by her father. Asher on the other hand gang raped a girl as a teenager. This is good. Who cares about all the other storylines this season, none of them are worth our time.

Contamination the crime scene. Let’s make a note of this officer not wearing gloves.
Tiffany was gang raped.

3.5/10

Grandfathered 1.03

Paget’s character reminds me of me a little more each week.

The age I lost my virginity. 13.
Thanks to you he’s one step away from being Norman Bates.
Mother in Parenthood.
Which Friends character are you?Come on, I’m Monica!
You delay, delay, delay and suddenly it’s too late.
What’s this, a cheesy rom com.

4.5/10

Grandfathered 1.04

Come on, Stamos you do know who Big Bird is, remember how obsessed Michelle was with him on Full House? Posting fake reviews and lying about leaving home on point. Other than that, weakest episode of the season.

Anonymous 2023.
Almost there. Traffic is awful.

2/10

The Good Wife 7.02

Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins the cast! An SVU case about mom taking naked pictures of their kids and selling them as art.

Have you seen the movie It Follows?
That’s when I got my first email from a pedophile.
After I came back from school, these men would wait for me.

8/10

The Good Wife 7.03

Grace working as Alicia’s assistant/secretary is my new favorite thing about the show. Interns caring about their boyfriends was hilarious too. Don’t go to law school if you want a normal life, simple as that.

Do these new summer interns seem less concerned to you? They worry about their boyfriends and having easier work days.

10/10

Scandal 5.03

How can Fitz still treat Mellie like crap?

Shut it down or get fired, people.
We’re running, people.

10/10

Scandal 5.04

Quinn has recruited a new gladiator.

Gladiators don’t ask questions.

2/10

The Leftovers 2.02

What is it with this season? Pure boredom. Miss Patty and where the heck is Amy Brenneman? So Kevin is a part of rapture number 2?

1.5/10

Switched at Birth 4.18

Were we supposed to be surprised that Daphne’s tutor was gay? Wasn’t that obvious? A very weak episode.

Faking It 2.19

Karma is just jealous that Amy does not pay attention to her anymore that she may actually try to be with her for a while, ruining Amy’s feelings.

The real you is so fantastic.

Welcome to ReviewThisFilm

This website started as weekly reviews on movies and tv episodes, and a diary of the 700 new films I watched every year. Today it’s a place for me to write a few words on films and tv shows that leave some sort of impact on me. I no longer write in depth reviews, partially thanks to bad habits gained by spending many hours a day on Letterboxd, and partially because of my demanding day job.

If you have a film you would like me to watch and review,  please leave a comment.

Enjoy!

About the Author

I just really love movies and watch 700 new ones a year.

My favourite actresses have always been Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore.

Favourite actors: Jack Nicholson, Robert De Niro, Henry Fonda, Jack Lemmon, Vincent Price and John Candy.

Favourite Directors: Brian De Palma, Alfred Hitchcock, Paul Thomas Anderson, Andrzej Wajda, Krzysztof Kieslowski and Wes Craven.

dysfunctional families | troubled childhoods

psychological | independent | drama | horror

At the pictures 10 times a month. I rate films within genre. I watch all interesting titles about to expire on Netflix and HBO Go. I’m nostalgic and reminisce a lot. Over the years I’ve seen 140 TV Shows.

26. Polish-British and proud of both of my citizenships.

About me

I am the dark and twisty Meredith Grey, the mad Dexter Morgan, hoping to grow up to be a little more like the wise, but fun Nora Walker. I am an aspiring filmmaker. My favorite actresses are Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. Favorite genre – psychological drama. I watch anything with a sexual or mental abuse plot. I used to be a horror freak. I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, SVU and many more. My other interests include making oil and pencil portraits and wildlife conservation. I cannot say no to beautiful landscapes, travel, Aussie accent, TV/film quotes and avocados. I have recently moved back from Australia to the UK. I’ve been running this blog for the last 9 years. Here I comment on films and episodes I watch. Enjoy! – Joanne

favourite film and tv quotes

‘When I lived in Porpoise Spit, I used to sit in my room for hours and listen to ABBA songs. But since I’ve met you and moved to Sydney, I haven’t listened to one Abba song. That’s because my life is as good as an Abba song. It’s as good as Dancing Queen.’ (Muriel’s Wedding)

‘I used to think about
your life in New York. I tried to imagine your room. I kept track of the time difference, so I  knew when you were awake and when you were asleep.’ (Disobedience)

‘Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?’ (The Aviator)

‘No, I’m not quitting. I don’t quit things.’
‘No, actually you do. Your mother quit your father. Your father quit you. You quit your boyfriend and if I read your hospital chart correctly you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It’s what you know how to do.’ (Greys)

‘Where the hell was I that year?’
‘Your were watching television’. (Everybody Loves Raymond)

‘It’s impossible to worry about anything else when there’s blood coming out of you.’
(Short Term 12)

‘I wanted it to happen. And when we were girls… Even then, it was the same. It’s always been this way! I have always wanted it.’ (Disobedience)

‘Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a moment when our lives change forever. The moment we admit our weaknesses, the moment we rise to a challenge, the moment we accept a sacrifice, or let a loved one go. And sometimes the change in our lives is an answer to our prayers.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Yesterday I went to the movies all day by myself. One after the other. I’ve never done that before. I had a really happy day.’ (Doing Time for Patsy Cline)

‘I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are going to change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed a feel like I might die today.’ (Greys)

‘She saved me my whole life. Without her, I’m nothing.’ (The Favourite)

‘Don’t wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don’t. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.’  (Greys)

‘Bree sobbed quietly in the restroom for five miutes, but her husband never knew, because when Bree finally emerged, she was perfect.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘I am not food, you cannot just eat and eat.’ (The Favourite)

‘I don’t love him.’
‘Of course you do.’
‘No!’
‘Don’t take me for a fool Olive,  I’m many things but I’m not a fool.’
‘I know that, you’re brilliant.’
‘Don’t you see, it’s over. Whatever this is, was, it’s over.’
‘I love You.’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing, is reason enough to celebrate.’ (Greys)

‘Many years ago, a neighbour and a good friend of ours took her life, and that left us all heartbroken and perplexed. But somehow, when I was alone in that hotel room, I forget about all the pain that she caused. In those awful moments, I thought maybe she had the answer.‘ (Desperate Housewives)

‘What happened last year when you fell in the water?’
‘I almost drowned. Do you think I did that for kicks?’
‘You put your hand in a body cavity that contained unexploded ammunition.’
‘I was trying to save a patient!’
‘Why is it that every other person in that room had the sense to hit the deck? You know people run away from this line between life and death. You seem to stand on it and wait for a strong wind to sway you one way or the other. You’re careless with your life. You’re not slitting your wrists but you’re careless. Probably because your mother told you you were a waste of space on this planet. The problem is you believed her. And if you don’t want out one of these days you’re going to die because of it.’  (Greys)

‘This is the street where I used to live and these were the people with whom I shared my life. I met them the day they moved in. And I saw what they brought with them. Beautiful dreams for the future. And quiet hopes for a better life. Not just for themselves, but for their children, too. If I could, would I tell them what lies ahead? Would I warn them of the sorrow and betrayal that lie in store? No. From where I stand now, I see enough of the road to understand how it must be traveled. The trick is to keep moving forward, to let go of the fear and the regret that slow us down and keep us from enjoying a journey that will be over too soon. Yes, there will be unexpected bends in the road, shocking surprises we didn’t see coming, but that’s really the point. Don’t you think?’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Was your life not working when you let that slip out from under you?’
‘When are you going to stop suggesting that I’m suicidal?’
‘When you start acting like someone that wants to be alive.’
‘Give me my chart.’
‘Why?’
‘Because I’m not suicidal, and if it says that I am, then it’s wrong.’ (Greys)

‘There is nothing wrong with me.’
‘Then show me your arm.’ (Degrassi)

‘Look, my whole life, I have been the freak. The girl who nobody picked for dodgeball. The girl who didn’t have a mom. The girl who dressed funny because it was her dad buying her clothes. And then, tonight I looked at these people, and I thought maybe there’s a future where I don’t have to be a freak. Maybe I can be who I am and that’s okay.’ (Everything Sucks)

‘Dr, I have been this way since…since I can remember. There is no cure.’ (American Horror Story)

‘He was so crazy about me, I couldn’t breathe. So we tried drinking our way back into love, but it never made sense in the morning. So I ran. And every time I came back, he was here. And he was still crazy about me.’ (My Blueberry Nights)

‘Bree van de Kamp had always wanted to live her life with elegance and grace. That is also how she wanted to die. Her plan was to pour herself a glass of her favorite chardonnay, put on her most stylish nightgown and leave behind a note on embossed stationery.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘All we have is this moment. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So be… here…. now.’ (Six Feet Under)

‘On the train coming here, we were in the same cart, I saw you, you were reading and you feel asleep. I didn’t dare to look at you, you were so beautiful, it was scary. Afterwards,  I couldn’t stop thinking about you. It made me smile. Then I thought of all the men who would get to hold you, who’d make you laugh. How lucky they were.’ (Enemy at the Gates)

‘It was a good day. Maybe even a great day. Even when it was hard, I was the me in my head. There was a moment when I thought I cant do this, I cant do this alone. I close my eyes and imagine myself doing it, and I did, I blocked out the fear, and I did it.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a time when we must expose our weaknesses. When our secrets can no longer remain private, when our solitude can no longer be denied, when our pain can no longer be ignored, but sometimes we feel so alone that a weakness we thought we’d overcome suddenly becomes too strong to fight.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Why did you get married, Esti? Why didn’t you just leave? So everything was all right when I left?’
‘No. I was ill.’
‘What sort of ill?’
‘In my head.’
‘If I had to sleep with a man, why not with our best friend?’
‘Oh, Esti…’
‘It hasn’t been a complete disaster.’
‘And that’s enough?! Do you have to have sex every Friday?’
‘It’s expected.’
‘It’s medieval. What happened to you?’
‘Nothing. You happened to me. And then I started teaching and that became important. I give them ambition.’
‘To do what? Push out seven babies and be a good wife?’
‘Don’t. Don’t. I help them to value themselves.’
‘Okay, but what about you?’
‘That is me. And you? Are you happy?’
‘Yes, I am.’
‘Have you been with other women?’
‘No. Not really. And you?’
‘No.’
‘But, Esti… Do you still
only fancy women?’ (Disobedience)

‘OK, then, listen. Let’s not get caught.’
‘What are you talkin’ about?’
‘Let’s keep goin’!’
‘What d’you mean?’
‘Go.’
‘You sure?’
‘Yeah. Yeah.’ (Thelma & Louise)

‘She let me live at Nora’s house. She let me believe that I was a part of their family. I fell in love with that family. What am I supposed to do, just sit there, pretend I’m related to them? I was happy. For the first time in my life I was happy.’ (Brothers and Sisters)

‘You will be left all alone with your bitterness and your rage and your knowledge that you loved her and she loved you and you threw it away for them.’
‘Do you love her?’
‘Yes.’
‘And Have you always?’
‘Yes.’
‘So then ask her.’
‘Olive, will you forgive me?’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘No razors, no scissors, no fucking freedom.’
(Short Term 12)

‘You can’t take a picture of this. It’s already gone.’ (Six Feet Under)
