This is going to be a lot of episodes. Since it’s Easter and the uni library is closed, I have pretty much nothing to do, and I have already planned the next three days, or actually 10 days, this post is on the list. I do not have any films left to watch, I do in fact, but this can wait three months. As for today, I decided to take a little break, and listen to the lecture in the evening. I ended up watching the pilot of Greys for the 40th time probably and the rewatching 7.09 episode where everyone is drunk and Meredith and Alex are the last ones standing. But I’ll cut to the case.

Grey’s Anatomy 9.17

Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital. I love that we’re done with d Mercy West part in d name, and I am really happy but I will miss Seattle Grace.

That Arizona/Callie scene was all I’ve been waiting for. Jessica was spectacular. Exactly how I would write it. Best scene since ‘I like the girl who has the sandwiches’. Just kiddin’ they had many amazing scenes. So damn perfect. ‘No, Callie, don’t.’ Oh the pain, perfection.

Everyone goes undercover. Does every cop have to be dirty, or suspected of being dirty? Why does Liv go out with Brian (who even knew that was his name? Sounds weird, right?) after he slept with prostitutes and I really did not want to have an image of Liv going down on him in my head, damn you, SVU.

I have no idea why we no longer have child victims, when these cases are most disturbing and simply the best. Anyway that was fine, very SVU, good. I was waiting for Liv to tell the girl or the jury she’s the product of rape.

This week, surprise, surprise, yet another Julianne Moore marathon.

The End of the Affair

All the jealousy, ‘He killed me with jealousy, you’re killing me with love’, blaming God for talking her away from him. A sensational film. One thing I don’t understand is, if she died of tuberculosis, he does know he’s gonna die too, right? Why was that was mentioned? Or have I seen True Women too many times as a kid?

Hannibal

What I love about this sequel is that there is more action than in the first part. In The Silence of the Lambs, I was not intrigued by the side story of that girl from Greys getting kidnapped, but absolutely fascinated with the Clarice/Dr.Lecter relationship. It must have been really hard for Julianne to live up to Jodie Foster’s creation of Clarice, but she did a great job in the end. What I really liked was that after all those years both Clarice and Lecter still obsessed over each other. The last act is psychopatically good, starting with Hannibal dressing Julianne into this dress (off scren, you pervs) and serves the brainy meal. How her hair gets stuck in the fridge and they finally kiss and he chops off his hand instead of hers and finally the scene by the water where she identifies herself as Agent Clarice Sterling.

Psycho

Why do they keep doing remakes of the best films ever made, what is the point? Classic stays a classic, no remake is needed, as no remake is going to be better than the original. The sister and the boyfriend were my favorite characters, no doubt. I really do not see Vince Vaughn as Norman, in some scenes he was good enough, in most just average. I would have not watched it if it did not have Julianne. Remake like any other remake, nothing more, but not disastrous.

Crazy. Stupid. Love

For more than a year I have been telling myself, I’m not watching this, even on the plane three weeks ago I could have watched it and did not. Somehow I did end up watching it, as I had a need for a light romantic comedy type kind of film. First of, we all knew she was her daughter, why would you put Emma Stone with Julianne Moore in the same film when there is no other lead female characters. The fight outside their house was absolutely hilarious, I rewinded it two times, Julianne’s ‘Jessica!’ killed me, so has the parents meeting where we find out he slept with 9 women. I was actually nicely surprised with this one, not the dating part, for a 21st centry romantic comedy, it was really decent and I definitely recommmend it.

Savage Grace

One of my favorite Julianne Moore movies, though the plot does not stick to what we read about the family presented in the film. The incest scene was the best scene of the whole film, but there were many unconsistencies. I knew the threesome was made up, as that did not make sense at all. The mother wanted to fix him, by having women sleep with him, she would not allow him to make out or maybe even sleep with her boyfriend, I am not surprised they got sued for going too far. The next thing that was absurd was that the murder happened a few mintes after the incest, they made it look like he blamed her for forcing him to do this, when we read that the affair was an ongoing relationship and even if they wanted to go this way, he let her, there is no way he would have killed her right after this scene. What is more, we did not see any signs of his madness, she was outgoing, butnot crazy, and so was not he. The should have focus on his disease. The film does not say that he has played with knives before. The bathroom scene, though one of the best, it was nicely implied he had sex with this boy, but the mother was not angry, though later, she could not stand his homosexuality. The last point is casting, I know the character was a beautiful woman herself, but it would be easier to understand the issue if the mother was played by a less attractive actress, no man feels sorry for the son when Julianne plays the mother. Despite all the flaws and plot holes it was an incredible film.

The Morning After

I loved every second of it, till we find out who framed her. I have no idea why she didn’t stand up for her ex husband, I know he tried to kill her, but I think she would besides that.

The China Syndrome

I was very into the story all the way. Jane was spectacular, and looking really well in red, and Jack Lemmon gave wings to the film, I still wish his character would not die. I wish she stood up for him more confidently, cause it was really sad to look at everyone calling him a lunatic or drunk, when he was the good guy.

Interiors

If there actually was rape, the film would get a 9. All the existential thoughts and the screw-up Joey, and the final suicide, were very intriguing.

What a marvelous film, I really wished we knew what happened to the dad, but other than that absolutely incredible film, the burying the kids, truly compelling.

The Day After Tomorrow

I was blown away with the special effects, for 2004 they were better than in 2012. I do not remember 2012 that much anymore, but I do think this one was better, nothing beats the scene of War of Worlds when they are transporting people by prom and people kept jumping and falling into the water, that was spectacular, good thing I have it on dvd. The thought of another ice age happening because of global warming, this is probably how we are all gonna die, and that is beyond scary.

Megan Is Missing

The ridiculousness of this film does not end. The last 22 minutes were the only part I should have watched, it is not possible the rape lasted that long. Which serial killer first keeps the victims under the bridge for a few days, then rapes them, and then starves to death and buries alive? What would be the point of that, he should rape then just bury. Why the hell did he stay on-line and kept talking to the girl, what kind of a serial killer does that? The girl showed absolutely no reaction to friend’s death. How is this possible that her parents would let her even walk outside, when her best friend just went missing. The lesbian friend blamed Amy, though she was the one who introduced Megan to Josh, what the? The whole camera thing, she did not play it and haven’t seen a guy in the background? I have noticed him immediately. What about him? He record everything, but does not keep the tape to get off on it? He leaves it in the woods? What is the point of making the video then? I could go on and on.

I have been planning this for almost three months, and now’s the time to say goodbye. After Friends ended, I haven’t been a comedy girl anymore. I guess it’s the growing up thing. Sometimes you have to make decisions you should have made a long time ago, but somehow you kept hanging on the thought that the shows will get better.

Cougar Town

I do not know where should I start. I used to obsess with this show and somewhere in the beginning of the previous season, I stopped caring. Okay, I did care, but I was not really that much into the story. The funny parts were not that funny anymore, and I think It started getting to me last year, I just did not realize it. When the show came back I was occupied with the exams and when they ended, I did not rush to watch it. I waited two months till It aired on TV, and I was not really into the cul-de-sac crew adventures anymore. My parents were all why are you watching this show, from the very beginning, though they knew I was obsessed with Courteney and I should have seen that the season three was nowhere near season two. I will try to remember the good Cougar Town, of season 1 and 2. I will always remain a huge Courteney Cox fan, but my story with Cougar Town ends here.

Go On

The jokes got worse, Ryan is sleeping around and I really am not interested in the sport part of the show. I will miss Anne and the group therapy parts.

Suburgatory

Oh, yes, Suburgatory, and the terrible season two. Absolutely disastrous for my taste, not at all funny, even Dallas’s lines are no longer witty. I will never forget the ‘Stronger’ scene from season one, but the bad show needs quitting.

Now that Private Practice has finished, and I have decided to quit three shows, my tv schedule is poor, but somehow I am proud of how limited it is.
