Parenthood 6.03

So much preparing for the worst, a big deal with the ring, rumours of one of the Bravermans dying was enough to make me believe this wouldn’t go well.

We can watch the squirells fornicate. That will be a scoot.
What?!
I’m pregnant.
I’m going up there with you.
Dad’s still doing paperwork.
We’re going to the drug store.
Box of twizzlers.
Red is for old people. You should get the red.
I don’t want to give you my wedding ring.
You look really pretty.
Adam sent this to scare the crap out of everyone un the family.
We’re gonna win this one, son, cause you’re not getting my truck.

We need to take your ring, Mr Braverman.
Tell him to turn it down.
What’s the score?
If you get bad news they take you to the bad news room, so you can break down in private.
She’s gonna be looking fine when they wheel dad out healthy.
Why are you taking me to the bad news room?
It’s like dad. You think you’re gonna fix him. You can’t help him. If you were gonna help, it would have already happened.
I’m not leaving you in Wyoming.

Greys 11.03

I realize that I said yes to being your new person now.
She’s what?
Why aren’t you taking notes?
I’m not that tight.
If anyone asks, I’m sick.
The only thing you inherit in this family is Alzheimers.
Wow. Dark.
Good one though.

Bailey taking a selfie.
Yeah, I bet.
Mer’s yeah it’s great.
I’m the sun and he can go suck it.
I will stop screaming in the hallways.
You’re a very different person.
That’s illegal.
That’s when she tried to kill herself.
Speaking of which, Avery has a history of making bad choices.
How are you on the board and I’m not?
You knew I had a sister, you had a daughter and you haven’t told me?
You didn’t tell her?
I would have liked to do it 30 years ago. I would have liked to have a daughter.
How sobby do I look?

Revenge 4.01

Only Victoria can leave psych ward in such style and so much grace.

To die, to live and to be reborn.
Maybe you better off alone.
Maybe we all are.
You know what they say about a girl who gave up revenge? She lived happily ever after.

I’ll buy you a new one.
The old Grayson house.
Look at you solving conflict without a red sharpie.
I may as well hang myself.
This is Victoria Grayson, I’m being held captive.
I want my childhood.
For the record, Conead slaughtered Pascal, not me. As for everything else, I would do it again.
Sorry you wasted your call.
Every queen needs a throne.
Who’s your in here?
Emily Thorne.

That’s why you can’t get rid of Emily Thorne.
It’s the truth. I don’t know who I am without it.

Am I right, Amanda?
How did you get out?
With a little help from my friends.

10/10

Revenge 4.02

I told myself Conrad was the master mind and you were a victim as much as I was.
All I could hear was the sound of my revenge free summer being strangled by a web of thorns.
Emily is an ex con?
I’ve waited too long for this. There’s no way I’m gonna lose you again.
I suggest you follow her lead and disappear.
This isn’t primary school.
My muse.
I’m telling you Nolan, she’s not.
Jumper’s been apprehanded.
I had no choice so I became the good wife.
I still love you, I always have.
She owes you her life.
Actually she owes you.
She’s the only person in the world you need to be listening to right now.
I’m your sister Charlotte, I’m Amanda.

I wasn’t able to do it for Amanda.
You kidnapped me and you say you wanna pick up where we left off?
I understand, duty calls.
At a certain point I could only see one way out.
You dropped your steak knife?
I killed Conrad.
Thank you.
You’ll be landing in Heathrow.

American Horror Story 4.01

Favorite opening credits and they changed the theme song.

To see the monster?
What pretty girls you are.
So fortunate to have a sister.
Shut up, what’s wrong with you!?
Complicated, no?
Tell me has anyone tasted your cherry pie?
Oh Dear God. She’s a psycho pervert.
Shut your disgusting mouth, you filthy whore.
Mr Hitchcock had some kind of nervous break when he casted his picture.

I don’t go to the movies much.
Refill!
My monsters wouldn’t hurt a fly.
What happens when she sees you, all of you.
Oh darling, it’s on the house. Stars never pay.
Don’t call us freaks.
Life on Mars.
‘But the film is a saddening bore.
He doesn’t know he’s in the best selling show.’

10/10

Bad Judge 1.01

And somebody get me some gatorate.
Sorry if my line of questioning doesn’t work with your hangover.
Let your junk breathe, you may wanna have kids someday.
Someone’s been looking into travel.
I know what I’m doing. Oh is this going up?
Red hot chilli peppers, uninvoluntary.
Personal space, dude. That one is on you.
I just think his head looks like a dong.
I’ll be happy to do portraits of your family.
That’s the best advice someone gave me in a long time.
Wow, I’m sorry, please continue.
What? How am I gonna pick up girls?!
Nope, I think you’re a mess.
You’re really taking this cougar thing to a new level.
Drinks on the house! Judge’s paying!

9/10

Bad Judge 1.02

Dude, seriously.
911, I forgot how to breathe and there’s giant fruit!
Wink wink.
What’s the matter, cat got your hashtag?
Yeah, we’ll need more handcuffs.

Castle 7.03

Dude, you’re supposed to be on call. Why do you smell like vino?
The devil came and got his due.
Our killer is not Spiderman.
Agreed, cause he’s the devil.
Clearly the killer’s the Invisible man.
We didn’t get a good look at the assailant.
He ran of with my credit card.
I got a job bouncing at a club.

The Simpsons 26.02

They did everything they could to stop us.
Freeze nudity!
I don’t know what that site blocks.
That better not be what it means when I say it.
You poor woman. Dealing with Bart has turned your ketchup to water.
Milk? That’s for babies and old dudes who can’t sleep at night because of what they did in war.
Now I’m never eating broccoli.
You are definitely eating that broccoli.
You lick this table clean.
I’ve gotta take out the Wifi.
She’s under a lot of stress. Her husband’s at the sea.
That doesn’t match my phone!
You critisised me. That’s all I ever wanted, honest parenting.

The Simpsons 26.03

You won’t hire me cause I’m pretty?
Now I’m running to the unemployment office.
Are you wroking two jobs here?
Some fat blob wants to see you.
You wanna make American kids work?
If I’m gonna do this when I’m 40, I might as well start now.

Faking It 2.03

I guess I just assumed since you fell for me that you were a lesbian.
So you can see yourself having sex with the guy?
I saw a guy guessing a girl’s weight for prizes.
My life is not a movie. You are not a director anf you cannot fast forward.
I fell in love with my best friend and I finally got the guts to tell her and everything got weird and now she can’t wait for me to fall in love with someone else. But everytime I look at her I get that sour feeling and my stomach gets these I think I’m gonna barf feelings and as much as I want then to go away I kinda don’t.

I really wanted that stuffed banana.
For what? Being the school’s slut?
What do you think you’re doing, Nancy Drew?

Barely, and with many obstacles, I have survived the last two weeks of finales, and most importantly,  the cancellation week. Suburgatory cancellation came with a shock and a bit of sadness, as I am forced to say goodbye to a show that brought me many laughs for three, thoughest years of my life. It was a great companion on my journey to adulthood and a great relief for a tense week. I am going to miss it dearly, definitely the most of all the shows that ended this year. Surviving Jack was the second of my shows that recieved bad news that awful and stressful week, after airing just seven episode. Till this week I was certain there was going to be eight episodes as was reported earlier in the year and I fully pushed the signs away as the official instagram account was telling for three or so weeks that episode seven was to be the absolute finale. It was a sweet show, and I will miss seeing Chris Meloni on my screen, it is a shame I have to say goodbye to him yet again. The third show that was taken away from me was one of the very last teen shows I watch, The Carrie Diaries. It came as a surprise, and to quote myself and my first reaction ‘I thought the whole point of watching teen shows is that they never end, hint Pretty Little Liars’, and truly, what is so great about teen shows is that we do not pay much attention to them, they are there when we come home from a twelve hour shift and manage to ease the pain and aftermath of work related confrontations. That is why I will have a teen show as a back up show on my list for at least couple of years I think, till I settle in as a person and learn to fully grow up, shame one of these shows will not be The Carrie Diaries. I will not know what happened to Carrie and how she met Charlotte,  unless, of course, I read the book. I am relieved I am only losing three shows this year, last year, none of my shows got cancelled but three of my absolute favorite ended, I am speaking of Private Practice,  Dexter and The Big C, of course. Nashville got a third season, even though we all sweated about its fate for a couple of weeks. I am extremely furious that the next year will be Cougar Town’s last season. I love this show and it has been with me for five years and it helped me in many ways, it entertained me and brought hope and light to my life. Greys, SVU, Revenge and Castle,  I could not be more proud and ecstatic to have you with me for at least one more year.

Greys 10.23

Great first part of the finale and ‘I’ve gained 8 pounds this week’ is the most relevant description of my anxiety about Cristina leaving. I loved how graciously Leah took the news, she knew she would not be a surgeon. Stephanie did some good for the very first time, and if we are to be stuck with her for the next couple of years, all I can say is finally. ‘I chose not to honor their wished’ reminded me of Pete in Private Practice or should I say Cooper. Derek being a selfish bastard that he apparently is and Owen begging Cristina to stay. I am very happy about Amelia possibly staying. Last words of wisdom for this episode ‘Give them the poop diary’.

10/10

Greys 10.24

I have not cried this much since the plane crash. The whole weekend I was replaying the ‘let’s dance it out’ and ‘what do you need I love you or something? I love you’ scenes in my head. I am exhausted from crying for so many hours and cannot get enough sleep. It was a beautiful exit, I loved how they finished Cristina’s storyline, but also hers with Meredith and hers with Owen. Ross going with her, and Leah coming in for the last time, all great. Ellis Grey giving up a child she had with Webber for adoption shocked me to the bones.

10/10

SVU 15.22

SVU managed to join Allen and Polanski’s cases and make a brilliant episode.

10/10

SVU 15.23

After three years with Amaro, I still do not like him, great episode, Josh Malina guest stars.

9.5/10

Revenge 3.21

Shocking and so revealing.  Conrad is finally in jail and Emily was the one who kidnapped Charlotte. The way Conrad confessed to his sins was one of my favorite scenes of any show this year.

Before I share my thoughts on this weeks episodes, I want to talk about some of this years shows in general and explain why i wasn’t around every week. Let me just start off by saying, I finally found a job I like, but my rota has been insane. Since March 3rd I have had 4 days off and I have 12 h shift.  I barely find time to watch anything, but my shows. I cannot use my phone at my desk, so i did not have time to update anything. Since I’m at home barely 8h a day, and in march exactly 4h a day, I stopped rewriting my notes on the shows. Why am I back now, not in a month then? Next friday we’ll know which shows get renewed and which ones we’re gonna have to say goodbye to, I wanted to write some very brief reviews a couple more times this year, in case Nashville gets cancelled. It’s a great show and I wish I started it last year, but even though we all struggled with Teddy’s storyline, It’s been 6 amazing months filled with many memorable songs. I hope it gets a third season and I am sad they cannot cut it to 13 episodes, like they did with Suburgatory, which has a million more viewers than last year and is doing so fine, by the way, but Nashville is not a 21 min comedy the network can take a risk with and put it wherever they find space. It’s a show that already struggled last year and desperately needed people to watch it this season. I really hope ABC gives the singing drama another chance and does not send so many talented people home. Fingers crossed! I also started watching Surviving Jack, but the ratings are plain low, and I no longer see a chance of NBC renewing it, which is ridiculous, as the show and Chris Meloni are funny and brilliant. This month I tried to start so many shows I have put off for years and none of them spoke to me, which means, for the first time in years I will have no shows to start in summer. I am a little disappointed,  but happy as I think of all the films I will see. And last, but the most important, I am starting to get really depressed about Sandra Oh leaving Greys, it’s all I can think about. I rewind all the twisted sisters scenes from 10 years in my head and cannot imagine my life without Cristina Yang. I grew up with these characters. It’s my show, it’s my everything. I am not ready to say goodbye. I will keep my fingers crossed for all the shows I watch to survive this terrifying week, but now, let’s move on to this week’s episodes.

Greys 10.22

All I have in my notes is ‘You’re leaving.’, which tells all about this episode. The chocolates that Cristina did remember about, the moment in which Meredith realized her best friend is leaving, will forever be stuck in my mind. I was extremely excited and emotional about Burke being back after 7 years, but I did not see him as Cristina’s biggest love. Imagine my surprise when the story went into a completely different direction. When Burke was saying that he finally understands that one person has to stay home with the kids and its okay to love someone who does not want surgical greatness, I thought of Owen and that him and Cristina could work if he stayed home and let Cristina do her thing, but then again, he dumped his girlfriend when she was saying the exact same thing, so there is no hope left for Crowen. Richard is so right to fight the foundation, but it was nice to Kepner standing up to someone for once. I do want to see Amelia in Seattle permanently, even though I want her to stay with Addie and the gang in LA and for her to be safe and sound and avoid any future disaster that Shonda’s already plotting. Which intern is getting kicked out and which one is dying in the terrorist attack? Leah’s out, Ross dies.

10/10

SVU 15.21

Oh the aftermath. It was all I thought it would be. When Liv said ‘I told him to rape me.’ to IAB and described why she chose not to resist, I felt so proud of her and couldn’t calm myself down. Despite everything that has happened to her, she found the strengthand pace to tell the truth. Captain Lewis earned more respect from fans in one episode than Cragen did in 15.5 years. Everyone making the case even worse for Olivia, even the little girl Liv saved, bug Captain Lewis.

Revenge 3.20

Another spectacular episode of this amazing show. Conrad pushed Pascall preventing Victoria’s happiness once again. Victoria all miserable calling the number finding out it was fake and probably linking it to Emily. Why the heck didn’t she change the name completely? Did she really have to use Rebecca? Victoria has her figured out now and I cannot wait for the moment she discovers the final piece of truth. Charlotte getting kidnapped? By all means take her, she is the most useless and most fake character this show had, even Ashley was more bearable.

‘Am I supposed to believe my father tripped and fell?’

10/10

Nashville 2.20

Between Juliette being the taxi service and Rayna being the only ond to calm Scarlet down, we had Deacon saying sure we do drugs and booze, it’s a real party’, 3 songs, Gunnar writing a song about Scarlet, miss Claybourne dropping out of Rayna’s label, because she hated the pressure of being famous, and many more, and I’m asking how come more people don’t watch yhis amazing show? Also, no Teddy in this episode, but unfortunately, no Stella sisters either.

10/10

Bates Motel 2.09

The show is not doing as good as the first season as I bet no one cares about the drugs trade and Norma trying to fight the road, and Norman drinking with some skanky friend. But what this episode had was Norman remembering killing the teacher and most importantly hearing his mother telling him to. Norma fully trusting the cop, that she’s eventually gonna end up with, amazing, but can we just get rid of the whiny Emma and everyone drug trade related but Dylan.

10/10

Surviving Jack 1.06

It’s a fun show and this was another fabulous episode. Rachel answering to Jack’s question about making herself more attractive to college admissions  ‘Good, I lost 3 pounds and got highlights’ and signing up for wrestling and Joanne calling varsity guys ‘stupid weiners’ hilarious.

‘It was pretty damn funny.’

10/10

Castle 6.21

It was mainly good because Esposito and Ryan were trying to get chosen as Castle’s first man, but he chose Alexis over them. Other than that I do vaguely remember the strip poker and Kate beating Castle in scrabble. Other than that? Another case I don’t remember the moment I turn the episode off. Ryan and Esposito earned 6 out of the 9 points I gave this episode.

9/10

Suburgatory 3.11

Tessa talking about her extra curricular activities that would not really count in any college admissions office and saving herself, mostly and Dalia talking about her various hobbies that have nothing to do with school, hilarious. Great episode,  like I said the show is doing so well, if only George and Dallas got back together already.

This is exactly the amount of episodes that should premiere each week. Imagine what would happen if Greys and Scandal premiered too and if I haven’t seen Shameless last week already. There were so many episodes I could not catch up with them during the week with my 10 h shift, which meant 4 shows on Saturday, now, that’s a perfect day. I only managed to watch Revenge, Suburgatory, Nashville, Switched at Birth and Pretty Little Liars the morning after they premiered. On Friday I watched Cougar Town, rewatched Suburgatory. On Saturday I dug into The Carrie Diaries, Bones, Castle, SVU. Dropped exhausted and watched American Horror Story and Ravenswood on Sunday. Then I rewatched Revenge and Nashville. Then I turned into SAGA and CCA. Best weekend in a long long time.

Revenge 3.12

You really want people to think you are a gold digger?

10/10

SVU 15.11

The only thing wrong with this episode is that it did not have an SVU case.

10/10

Bones 9.13

The last two episodes, this is why Bones is so excellent. I was getting really annoyed with all the bad episodes.

8.5/10

Castle 6.12

This show needs better cases.

10/10

Nashville 2.11

Happy Peggy died, she was drugging the shown down.

9/10

Suburgatory 3.01

Happy to see it on my TV! Thank goodness it stayed on air.

8.5/10

Switched at Birth 3.01

So happy SAB is back!

7/10

Cougar Town 5.02

Grayson, Monica.

10/10

American Horror Story 3.11

Feels like a teen series.

7/10

The Carrie Diaries 2.11

This show is doing so fine this season, sad it’s only 13 episodes.

8/10

Pretty Little Liars 4.15

Seriously? Hanna and Aria’s brother? Running out of ideas there? The writers do anything to prolong the series as much as possible. So many useless plots and this one is the stupidest of all.

2/10

Ravenswood 1.07

When will I stop torturing myself with this show?

3/10

The Simpsons

That was the worst episode I’ve seen in years, probably the worst Simpsons episode of all.

Revenge Season 3 so far

Season 3 is even better than season one. I hated Charlotte, she tried so hard to act like Victoria and failed so deeply. The queen Victoria is as brilliant as always. I do not like the return of Lydia, hopefully it is just so we can frame her for something. Sarah messing with Daniel is obvious and cliche, probably the only mistake the writers did this year. The midseason ended perfectly.

Welcome to ReviewThisFilm

This website started in 2010 as weekly reviews of movies and tv episodes, and a diary of the 700 new films I watched every year. Today it’s a place for me to write a few words on films and tv shows that leave some sort of impact on me. I no longer write in depth reviews, mostly thanks to bad habits gained by spending many hours a day on Letterboxd.

If you have a film you would like me to watch and review,  please leave a comment.

Enjoy!

– Joanne

About the Author

All I do is watch movies, the good, the bad and the ugly. Sometimes I make my own.

Check out my latest film (120K+ views on Youtube):

www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP3Iz23hD7M

I’ve seen over 6000 films and 220 TV shows. I have a degree in Film Production, and wrote my dissertation on Italian neorealism. I mostly gravitate towards social issues films, anything Ken Loach, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Roberto Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica or Jafar Panahi, etc.

I rate films within genre. I watch a lot of films on Mubi, Filmbox Arthouse. My favourite directors are Yasujiro Ozu, Ken Loach, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Zhang Yimou, Roberto Rossellini, Ingmar Bergman, Brian De Palma, Vittorio De Sica and Andrzej Wajda. My favourite actresses have always been Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. I’m nostalgic and reminisce a lot. I’m at the cinema 10 times a month. And I’m a Polish-British millennial.

I will watch anything:

psychological | arthouse | foreign | independent | drama | horror | lgbt | strong female characters | female centred films | dysfunctional families | sexual assault | troubled childhood | mental health issues

About me

I am the dark and twisty Meredith Grey, the mad Dexter Morgan, hoping to grow up to be a little more like the wise, but fun Nora Walker. I am an aspiring filmmaker. My favorite actresses are Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. Favorite genre – psychological drama. I watch anything with a sexual or mental abuse plot. I used to be a horror freak. I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, SVU and many more. My other interests include making oil and pencil portraits and wildlife conservation. I cannot say no to beautiful landscapes, travel, Aussie accent, TV/film quotes and avocados. I have recently moved back from Australia to the UK. I’ve been running this blog for the last 9 years. Here I comment on films and episodes I watch. Enjoy! – Joanne

favourite film and tv quotes

‘When I lived in Porpoise Spit, I used to sit in my room for hours and listen to ABBA songs. But since I’ve met you and moved to Sydney, I haven’t listened to one Abba song. That’s because my life is as good as an Abba song. It’s as good as Dancing Queen.’ (Muriel’s Wedding)

‘I used to think about
your life in New York. I tried to imagine your room. I kept track of the time difference, so I  knew when you were awake and when you were asleep.’ (Disobedience)

‘Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?’ (The Aviator)

‘No, I’m not quitting. I don’t quit things.’
‘No, actually you do. Your mother quit your father. Your father quit you. You quit your boyfriend and if I read your hospital chart correctly you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It’s what you know how to do.’ (Greys)

‘Where the hell was I that year?’
‘Your were watching television’. (Everybody Loves Raymond)

‘It’s impossible to worry about anything else when there’s blood coming out of you.’
(Short Term 12)

‘I wanted it to happen. And when we were girls… Even then, it was the same. It’s always been this way! I have always wanted it.’ (Disobedience)

‘Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a moment when our lives change forever. The moment we admit our weaknesses, the moment we rise to a challenge, the moment we accept a sacrifice, or let a loved one go. And sometimes the change in our lives is an answer to our prayers.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Yesterday I went to the movies all day by myself. One after the other. I’ve never done that before. I had a really happy day.’ (Doing Time for Patsy Cline)

‘I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are going to change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed a feel like I might die today.’ (Greys)

‘She saved me my whole life. Without her, I’m nothing.’ (The Favourite)

‘Don’t wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don’t. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.’  (Greys)

‘Bree sobbed quietly in the restroom for five miutes, but her husband never knew, because when Bree finally emerged, she was perfect.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘I know that, you’re brilliant.’
‘Don’t you see, it’s over. Whatever this is, was, it’s over.’
‘I love You.’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing, is reason enough to celebrate.’ (Greys)

‘Many years ago, a neighbour and a good friend of ours took her life, and that left us all heartbroken and perplexed. But somehow, when I was alone in that hotel room, I forget about all the pain that she caused. In those awful moments, I thought maybe she had the answer.‘ (Desperate Housewives)

‘What happened last year when you fell in the water?’
‘I almost drowned. Do you think I did that for kicks?’
‘You put your hand in a body cavity that contained unexploded ammunition.’
‘I was trying to save a patient!’
‘Why is it that every other person in that room had the sense to hit the deck? You know people run away from this line between life and death. You seem to stand on it and wait for a strong wind to sway you one way or the other. You’re careless with your life. You’re not slitting your wrists but you’re careless. Probably because your mother told you you were a waste of space on this planet. The problem is you believed her. And if you don’t want out one of these days you’re going to die because of it.’  (Greys)

‘This is the street where I used to live and these were the people with whom I shared my life. I met them the day they moved in. And I saw what they brought with them. Beautiful dreams for the future. And quiet hopes for a better life. Not just for themselves, but for their children, too. If I could, would I tell them what lies ahead? Would I warn them of the sorrow and betrayal that lie in store? No. From where I stand now, I see enough of the road to understand how it must be traveled. The trick is to keep moving forward, to let go of the fear and the regret that slow us down and keep us from enjoying a journey that will be over too soon. Yes, there will be unexpected bends in the road, shocking surprises we didn’t see coming, but that’s really the point. Don’t you think?’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Was your life not working when you let that slip out from under you?’
‘When are you going to stop suggesting that I’m suicidal?’
‘When you start acting like someone that wants to be alive.’
‘Give me my chart.’
‘Why?’
‘Because I’m not suicidal, and if it says that I am, then it’s wrong.’ (Greys)

‘There is nothing wrong with me.’
‘Then show me your arm.’ (Degrassi)

‘Look, my whole life, I have been the freak. The girl who nobody picked for dodgeball. The girl who didn’t have a mom. The girl who dressed funny because it was her dad buying her clothes. And then, tonight I looked at these people, and I thought maybe there’s a future where I don’t have to be a freak. Maybe I can be who I am and that’s okay.’ (Everything Sucks)

‘Dr, I have been this way since…since I can remember. There is no cure.’ (American Horror Story)

‘He was so crazy about me, I couldn’t breathe. So we tried drinking our way back into love, but it never made sense in the morning. So I ran. And every time I came back, he was here. And he was still crazy about me.’ (My Blueberry Nights)

‘Bree van de Kamp had always wanted to live her life with elegance and grace. That is also how she wanted to die. Her plan was to pour herself a glass of her favorite chardonnay, put on her most stylish nightgown and leave behind a note on embossed stationery.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘All we have is this moment. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So be… here…. now.’ (Six Feet Under)

‘On the train coming here, we were in the same cart, I saw you, you were reading and you feel asleep. I didn’t dare to look at you, you were so beautiful, it was scary. Afterwards,  I couldn’t stop thinking about you. It made me smile. Then I thought of all the men who would get to hold you, who’d make you laugh. How lucky they were.’ (Enemy at the Gates)

‘It was a good day. Maybe even a great day. Even when it was hard, I was the me in my head. There was a moment when I thought I cant do this, I cant do this alone. I close my eyes and imagine myself doing it, and I did, I blocked out the fear, and I did it.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a time when we must expose our weaknesses. When our secrets can no longer remain private, when our solitude can no longer be denied, when our pain can no longer be ignored, but sometimes we feel so alone that a weakness we thought we’d overcome suddenly becomes too strong to fight.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Why did you get married, Esti? Why didn’t you just leave? So everything was all right when I left?’
‘No. I was ill.’
‘What sort of ill?’
‘In my head.’
‘If I had to sleep with a man, why not with our best friend?’
‘Oh, Esti…’
‘It hasn’t been a complete disaster.’
‘And that’s enough?! Do you have to have sex every Friday?’
‘It’s expected.’
‘It’s medieval. What happened to you?’
‘Nothing. You happened to me. And then I started teaching and that became important. I give them ambition.’
‘To do what? Push out seven babies and be a good wife?’
‘Don’t. Don’t. I help them to value themselves.’
‘Okay, but what about you?’
‘That is me. And you? Are you happy?’
‘Yes, I am.’
‘Have you been with other women?’
‘No. Not really. And you?’
‘No.’
‘But, Esti… Do you still
only fancy women?’ (Disobedience)

‘OK, then, listen. Let’s not get caught.’
‘What are you talkin’ about?’
‘Let’s keep goin’!’
‘What d’you mean?’
‘Go.’
‘You sure?’
‘Yeah. Yeah.’ (Thelma & Louise)

‘She let me live at Nora’s house. She let me believe that I was a part of their family. I fell in love with that family. What am I supposed to do, just sit there, pretend I’m related to them? I was happy. For the first time in my life I was happy.’ (Brothers and Sisters)

‘You will be left all alone with your bitterness and your rage and your knowledge that you loved her and she loved you and you threw it away for them.’
‘Do you love her?’
‘Yes.’
‘And Have you always?’
‘Yes.’
‘So then ask her.’
‘Olive, will you forgive me?’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘No razors, no scissors, no fucking freedom.’
(Short Term 12)

‘You can’t take a picture of this. It’s already gone.’ (Six Feet Under)
