Quick, tiny post, in between flu medicine. I’ve decided not to continue watching Secrets and Lies, I only watched the opening episode of this season. I really started having mixed feelings for The Good Place after the main character was supposed to get sent back as the ‘hell people’ were extremely annoying. I’m still not sure about Divorce either. Come back tomorrow for a detailed post on that one-scene theatrical Greys, that quite shocking new AHS and many others.

The Middle 8.04

Frankie buys underwear that reads ‘I’d hit that’ after which she admits she’s been an inactive member of a local gym for 22 years. Oh man, I get that. While everyone is snapchatting from their gyms, I sit at home and try to cool off after an annoying second job I just took. I had to cut my hours in my old one, and that part time job feels like a full time, because it’s physically wrenching and I haven’t had the energy to go to the gym since September. Sure, I also moved much further away, and paying 10.99 just didn’t seem like a good idea. Back to the show, Frankie falls on the treadmill and everyone sees her ‘I’d hit that’ underwear. Troy gets on the football team, because he’s big. I don’t know how is it legal for Sue and Lexie to get that dorm room. It has to be a Health and Safety violation and the girls should have sued the school. I know most college rooms are shitty, but not that shitty. Speaking of Sue, a pizza delivery guy pronounces her names as ‘Hack’ instead of Heck. Meanwhile, Brick realizes how hard it is to pretend to be a social guy and actually have a high school experience. Let me tell you, I was exactly like Brick when I was in junior high and high school, sure I had better social skills than Brick, but It all seemed like a ton of work. No one was as into TV shows and good films as I was and to be honest, I do have two friends from those years and all the new people interested in TV and cinema I’ve met didn’t exactly ‘stay’ in my life, if you know what I mean. Even though film was my major, all the friendships ended after university. I guess it’s true what they say, we do meet our best friends in high school. And that though is scary. I guess the lesson here is try to be sociable, I know it seems like a waste of time and you don’t want to inhale all that smoke fumes, but maybe all those sociable folks are onto something. And you are definitely left out.

Anyone else not really digging Frank’s new family? And the whole homeless shelter storyline? Definitely the weakest episode of the season.

They’ll be good earners someday.

Gosh, this season am I right? So bad it hurts. Why can’t all the episodes be about Frank beating up Bonnie’s dad or Annalise and Eve? Going home in an hour to watch yesterday’s episode, but I wasn’t very interested in it yesterday.We learn Asher is alive, so at this point the dead man could either be Wes, Connor or Frank, or maybe Nate, but doubt it. Annalise is eating chips in the bathroom.

The Goldbergs 4.06

One of the best episodes I’ve seen this fall.

His acting gets slightly better in every movie.
Arnold says 6 lines in this movie and your dad talked over every one.
He’s not from Austria like Arnold or Belgium like a Van Damme or wherever Segal is from.
He’s clearly having some sort of an episode, get everything you can.
Just take my 80 bucks.
Dear Lord, this is a big budget movie! I’m making a big budget movie!

I just had to capture the moment, so I can remember it forever.
It’s just a store.
Not to me, I’ve had my best memories there. Just think of all the coupons I’ve doubled there, all the managers I’ve made cry, all the clothes I’ve worn for a decade and then returned no questions asked.
It looks cheap as hell. It’s all dark and hard to see. The camera shakes like crazy. Also, it sounds like crap. Like a washed out crammy public access show that’s on at midnight.

I just realized that most of the shows will go on their Christmas hiatus in two or three weeks, so I better catch up with my reviews. Posting a few today and then I’m off to watch new Greys. Expect a massive post tomorrow.

Shameless 7.02

Shameless was just added on Netflix UK! In the newest episode Frank disinherits the whole family and all of the kids are actually relieved. Also, Frank washing himself up in the toilet.

Beverly summing up exactly what the show is about had me in tears! Unfortunately, the episode itself wasn’t too good.

American Horror Story 6.06

I am never more excited than when it comes to murder. What a bloody episode. Best this season, and unfortunately the last good one as well. I absolutely loved the ‘Blair Witch’ warning in the middle. What did you guys think of Sarah’s British accent? I thought she’s doing a great job, especially compering to Evan’s really bad one a few episodes ago. I loved that Kathy Bates’s character went full on ‘Mysery’ and killed some. Also, OJ Simpson and Martha being friends in this episode made me so damn happy. I know every teenager everywhere plus one of my good friends are mourning Evan’s character, but he played just really shitty this season and his character was unnecessary in the first place.

I know Younger is from the Sex and the City creator, but it annoys me how sex centered the show is getting. This shitty episode fo example was all about period sex.

Our shows are back! What do you guys think about the new fall shows? I hated Notorious, I watched two episodes and it may be one of the most boring TV shows ever made. I think I’ll just stick with The Good Place. And I still need to see This is Us and The Exorcist!

SVU 18.01

I was running on reruns and holding on to the last straw. Season 18 started off with an intense Central Park scene, where Liv had to calm down a little child who pointed a gun at her and her son Noah. What a season opener. The episode went more into a terrorism side, than what the show is all about, but Olivia didn’t give in and did everything she could to help the abused Muslim woman. SVU covered recent mass shootings, while staging a Central Park shooting. Throughout the whole episode she had a lovely ‘fed up with perps’ attitude and Mariska was an absolute scene stealer. Here are some quotes I loved, you know the drill.

I am in the park with Noah.
I found him in Central Park, he had a gun.
Rita, you’re representing terrorists now.
Hell of a ride to get on.
She was raped and tortured by him and his brother.
Your job cost my son his life.
Rape or no rape she is a killer.

A teenager was obsessed with Amanda and lied to please her and Amanda said it was not her fault he has a crush on her and that was the best part of the episode. A man rapes the only daughter of a woman who accused him of raping her years ago as the prison ‘made him a rapist’.

The girl was raped, beaten and stabbed.
She was pretty, like you.
Plus Detective Rollins…

Shameless 7.01

Woah, season 7, what are you doing? I disliked most of the episode for the first time in the history of watching this show! It started off okay and then it got…boring! I didn’t know nurses had to wash coma patient’s genitalia, so thanks for that Shameless. I’ll tell repeat that to my best friend who’s finishing nursing school now. Another reason not to go into medicine. And I hated that Carl’s girlfriend practically bullied him into having a circumscription at 15, what the fuck. Not everyone is a jew, you know? The only thing I liked about this was that Lip will work at Fiona’s diner and I really enjoyed Debbie stealing these baby strollers and getting a nanny. I still don’t understand why Fiona got to keep her ex fiancee and boss was the one who moved away.

When I heard The Goldbergs were doing The Breakfast Club episode, I thought it would be epic. Hell, I was expecting tears running from my eyes. I usually hate when shows act out the famous scene from this teen classic. I loved their tribute to The Goonies! And many other films, including Dirty Dancing or The Ghostbusters, etc. The only show that honored and celebrated The Breakfast Club well enough was Cougar Town a few years back.

Aww The Breakfast Club. Truly the ultimate teen movie of the 80s.

Scream Queens 2.01

I guess now we all know why they invited Uncle Jesse to the show. Yes, my favorite scene was the one where Emma Roberts took her clothes off the minute she saw John Stamos naked. I also enjoyed that a Netflix documentary exonerated the Channels. And we all know people who went to med school even though they didn’t study enough and then there are people who really should be doctors and had to retake their exams even though they were much higher than the rich ones the first time. Don’t even get me started with online med schools and doctors who can’t diagnose the simplest things and check everything online while you’re asking them questions. Is everyone else loving Kristie Ally in this as much as I am?!

Even though I love Amy Brenneman and Brad Siberling (hello, Moonlight Mile!) I am not starting Heartbeat. The pilot felt like Grey’s wannabe and we remember how Melissa George’s character got kicked out of the program. It’s Sunday, my notebook is full of notes and reviews, so here we go.

I was so happy when I saw Mandy! But she’s an escort now and killed a man. Lip being shocked about her driving a jeep and Ian not telling him where Mandy works, so he can be proud of her was absolutely incredible, and one of my favorite scenes this season. What’s with the commune living though?

It took me a while to watch the finale April 9th to be exact, and it was disappointing just like the whole season.

Eve’s’Did he hurt you?’ were the exact words Alex used 3 weeks later when he got 911 call from Maggie about Meredith on Greys.

Pretty Little Liars 6.18

This half season is excruciating. I honestly have 5 episodes to watch and no desire to sdo so. I have also accidentally ruined the spring ending for myself – thanks TV Guide, so now I’m even less excited about watching them. I will try to watch them on Netflix when I’m off tomorrow.

Did they abort the baby? Or was it just a false alarm, I don’t remember at this point. What is wrong with being a cop? It’s a perfectly respectable job. I know that Toby did some one month long Mickey Mouse course, that would never pass as a cop course, but still, he’s a cop. Who needs college is they want to be a cop? Aria getting burned was just too predictable and fake. Makes me realize what everyone has been saying for the last two years at least, that this show has been on too long. I don’t know why I gave this episode so many points. I must have been tired.

There’s probably one of your beanies still in there.
Cause being with a cop is not good enough?

Hi guys, welcome back after Easter. My new 8 month old laptop died, which means I will have so much more time to post this week, as I won’t be busy watching films. Here are some reviews.

Greys 12.12

I am so happy they didnt kill Mer’s first patient. I was scared theoughout the whole episode that that was gonna happen. Her death would ruin the pilot we love so much. It would mess with the past and make us feel like there is no point in leaving since something we believed for 11 years now would have changed. There is no messing with the past. It’s our holy ground and I’m hlad Shonda gets it.

Someone said that. Wait that was me.
Guys, this room is full of dead people, show some respect.
She was my first patient.
They still let you be a doctor here?
She was a trainwreck.
So he thinks you should have been on that helicopter.
I work in peds. I figured it out.

After 17 years at SVU Olivia got kicked out. What are you guys thinking of Olivia and Tucker?

There is no way that girl is 18.
Underage girls are being raped and trafficked.
They’re not cops, they’re rapists.
They forced me into a room and took turns raping me.
He’s raping 16 year olds while supposedly undercover.
So you don’t mention that you two are sleeping together.
He had everyone at SVU in kuffs.

I tried to do a lot, and I still have to review so many episodes! Good thing I have 7 shifts this week, so part 2 tomorrow.

Greys 12.09

This episode wasn’t exactly necessary. Meredith has been through enough. I was really scared Shonda would make an SVU episode out of it, but thank god, knock on wood she didn’t think of that. But you have to admit, that opening narration did suggest it. Zola was being a little brat and I felt so sorry for Mer when the kids didn’t wanna see her. Alex was either crying or about to cry through the whole episode, which is exactly how every fan of the show felt. Ellen crushed it, her performance was incredible this week. I honesntly couldn’t even look at the screen, because of her pain was just too hurting.

Or the silence will kill you.

Shameless is back! Who else is really happy? How are you liking this season? I think it’s a little weaker one. And what happened to Deb? Why does she insist on having that kid? She was supposed to be the one Gallagher that actually accomplishes something. And now it looks like it’s gonna be Lip.

Castle 7.09

Finally a Martha episode, they don’t show her often enough. A Pitch Perfect kind of episode with accapella groups. I like how protective Espo and Ryan are of Beckett. I know that Swetlana is one of the most common Russian names, but I hoped Castle would reference Shameless.

Castle, what’s the 911?!
Or someone! You cheat on her. You cheat on us!
He told us about Swetlana.

The Middle 7.11

Sue wants to join a sorority, but as always, no one wants her. She finds her first college friend in the process. We rewatched the episode where Sue spends the whole day in the sun holding her hand on the car to win it. And even though she wins, she doesn’t get the car, as it’s another Frankie’s ex boss’s scam, and she wins a trip to Disney World instead. Sue is not crashed at all. My dad said this is exactly what we should do with our lives. Strive to be this happy. Mike being clueless about Twitter, is just like my dad is with the computer.

Angelina Jolie was never in a sorority.
Like murder mystery with poop.
You seem like you’re really into being happy.
I can call them myself, you just need to tell me who sets it up.

The Good Wife 7.11

Yes, The Good Wife is ending with this season. Are we sad? Not really as the last two season weren’t interesting at all. I mean they tried to make Peter a president, what? I’ll miss Eli, that’s for sure. Everyone else, not so much. The show isn’t addictive. You can’t obsess over it like some other dramas, so sure I’ll miss it, but it won’t be a struggle, like with so many other shows, Private Practice, Dexter, The Big C, Desperate Housewives or even Lost to name a few. I thought of another Sunday show today, Revenge, as I was watching The Middle and Axl mentioned it a couple of times. There are 8 more episodes, so don’t worry we’ll get to say goodbye. Episode nine was probably this season’s weakest.

Alicia broke all the plates and wears sunglasses all episode.

They moved 5 years forward, to avoid them being separated. This way it’s much easier to put them all in one place. The first episode after 5 years ended just like the pilot did., with a funeral.
