Most of our shows are now on a hiatus (thank God for Shameless and The Middle). I was shocked to hear SVU is on a hiatus without any prior announcement. Same with The Good Place. What will you be watching during the break? I will watch Gilmore Girls next Friday, then Fuller House on the 8th of December! I will also watch the rest of the new Transparent, the last few episodes of the last season of Bones and catch up on Jane the Virgin. I also plan to rewatch the first 3 seasons of American Horror Story, possibly seeing the 5th one, still uncertain if I should. Next week I’ll post a massive post on the shocking HTGAWM finale and much more!

Shows now on hiatus: Greys, SVU, How to Get Away With Murder, The Good Place, AHS (done until September 2017)

Shows with new episode for the next two weeks: Shameless, The Middle, Younger, The Simpsons, Scream Queens, Divorce

Greys 13.07

I don’t like the new character played by Justin’s girlfriend on Brothers and Sisters and Scott Foley’s wife. I’m not happy about her taking Webber’s job and eventually hooking up with Arizona. The highlight of this shitty episode was when the new character misspells Amelia’s name as Amelio Shepherd.

A teacher beat up a student.
We’ll see how fascinating she is when she starts handing out pink slips.
So direct her to the door.
Who the heck is Amelio Shepherd?!
That name with that face? It’s not one I’d forget about.

Greys 13.08

The way Ellen Pompeo said Zola’s name that one time, after the girl told her to go and fix daddy, as she fixes everybody. Absolutely breathtaking. The perfect definition of daydreaming was used as Meredith explained how we make someone up to get through the day in the closing narration. As some who daydreams 18/24 hours a day, let me tell you, it was fulfilling.  I could identify with this episode in a little different way as I have suffered from insomnia since I was 14, and working on used batteries is something I’m very familiar with, especially after working nights for 2.5 years. Richard treats the surgery as a teaching moment as he asks the doctors to imagine it’s someone they love laying on their table. They do something similar, Owen speaks to his missing sister, who tells him he should have married Meredith; Stephanie sees her younger version of herself; Meredith sees her children waiting for her to tell them Derek’s dead and Richard talks about the mother he lost to pancreatic cancer when he was ten. We finally learned something new about him, up to this point all we new was Adele/Ellis/Maggie concerned and now we’re finally getting to know his childhood a little bit. I loved the theatrical, single scene episode and no surprises there, Meredith’s story was my favorite. We watched her tell Zola and Bailey about Derek’s death and we got to see Derek, well a 2006 version of him, thanks to an old footage of him back in season 2. I loved it when Owen’s sister was walking around Meredith in the OR and there was this orange light following her, whereas everyone else was still. We learned why Stephanie became a surgeon and it was a beautiful episode. I loved it when the little girl raised her voice and said ‘Speak up’ in a way that Olivia often does on Shonda’s other show Scandal. Hmm, when to think of it, Mellie too! Powerful women on that show. I could write essays on this episode alone, here are all the best quotes.

We need sleep. Without it we make poor decisions, say things we shouldn’t and sometimes imagine something that’s not there.
How do you know when you’re too tired to operate?
When you make the first mistake.
I have a question, does Gale have a dog?
Maybe she’s whatever Dr Webber says she is.
And I outrank you!
You’re not going to choke this one too, right?
Shut up, for God’s sakes!
We spent months reading about it, remember?
Speak up!
When you’ve been stuck in a bed through most of your childhood…
Children? Are there children?
They’re waiting with her downstairs in the lobby.
Grey, what is your problem!?
What do you think I’m doing right now? Massaging this heart for exercise?
Is he hurt?
Then you should go in there and fix him! You fix everybody!
Zola… I can’t fix him, because no one can fix him. Because, he’s dead. Daddy died.
You didn’t make Gale up.
It’s okay son, there was nothing you could have done, you were only 10 years old.
We can do a partial liver transplant.
Nice save, Grey.
Sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good. Whatever you need to keep you going.

Greys 13.09

Bailey told DeLuca to use the Karev method of identifying patients using the Polaroid camera, which broke me. Remember the ferry boat accident back in season three? What a ride that was. Four of the songs from season one and two were reused and everything felt warm and homey and I felt like a teenager again. I really hope Alex doesn’t leave. I know he wasn’t getting good storylines, but he is one of the MAGIC five. When Meredith mentioned the original five and how she can’t be the only one by herself, naturally I burst into tears. I really enjoyed all the Alex/Jo interactions and him telling her she is Jo Wilson and should stay. Leah made Ben impersonate a priest and it was fun to watch him explain himself in front of his wife when she knew nothing about it. Overall, it was a fantastic episode, and I’m only annoyed by the main character they’re trying to push down our and Arizona’s throats. I would rather have her be with Leah than with this Brothers and Sisters alum.

Zero years is the goal.
The only way they can identify who made it to this hospital and who didn’t is this photo. I want a photo of every patient on this board in the next hour.
One minute you’re fine and the next thing, everything just collapses around you.
That has to be illegal.
The foundation was crippling.
You’re not trash. Don’t let anyone say that. You’re not trash, Jo.
I’m married. I’m married to a guy who almost beat me to death.
Jo Wilson isn’t my real name. That’s why I couldn’t marry you.
If I disappear after tomorrow, I don’t want you to think it’s you, ever.
This is your life. You’re Jo Wilson, you belong here.
Jo’s married.
What are you even saying right now?
That’s how I taught you to fire people. I’m ornamental and you know it.
You’ll be okay. You’ll be fine. You’ll be fine.
Me? Of course, I’ll be fine. I’m always fine, don’t you know that?
Who you are will be gone.
I’d hug you goodbye, but you’d have to scrub again. Goodbye, Mer.
You know I’d go down the river for you. Whatever you’re doing this for, please don’t.

American Horror Story 6.09

Taissa Farmiga is back! (and gets killed off in the same episode). I thought there was enough of the ‘found footage’ this season, which seems like a longer and a lot worse good old Blair Witch. This should have been the season finale.

Oh my God, is that the same girl!?
That’s the thing, there was no body.
This is exactly how every horror movie works!
Can you say that again?
I killed Daddy.
This is such  good idea. God, I can’t wait to get to the house!
Let me just say, that I’m a huge fan.
Oh no, I love Shelby!
Present yourself for slaughter.
They killed two kids.
Jesus, there’s another one.
You fucking murderer.

8/10

The Simspons 28.06

What a fine Friday Night Lights like episode. Adored all the music and the little FNL things, but it didn’t seem like enough. Why would it, it wasn’t a tribute, just one long reference. I enjoy the kid centred episodes the most.

We’re late to prenatal yoga.
Milhouse is 10 why are we still doing that?

7.5/10

The Simpsons 28.07

The Simpsons head to Cuba and the highlight being Homer buying postcards and saying that saves him a trip to the beach. Started off good, turn to nonsense.

I love seeing people I know, fail.
A lot of things are America’s shame.
I’m sorry there’s a fee if you don’t cancel withing 24 years.
That saves us from going to the beach.

4.5/10

Divorce 1.05

Okay, at least, Dean Winters joined the cast! Other than that, this show is so bad and boring, I’m only watching it because it will only have one season (let’s hope). Why the heck was she telling the lawyer about her never faking an orgasm with her husband we’ll never know.

Savable? She fucked a French guy 69 times!
I wanted you to help me move them, not put my dead husband’s flowers on your fucking coffee table!
This is not a teaching hospital! This is my life!
He couldn’t pick that dog out in a fucking line up.

3/10

Divorce 1.06

He took the fault on himself, so her parents wouldn’t know she was the one cheating, okay that was actually good. The husband saying ‘Pleased to meet you’ instead of ‘Peace be with you’ at the church was another lovely surprise from this below average show.

Pleased to meet you!
I don’t like touching people.
I cheated on her.

Greys 13.05

Webber being all pervy accidentally asking a patient’s sister to get in bed with him.

Close the fridge.
You are quite young.
I’m a baby.
You look super sketchy.
So this isn’t real. Wait, I hugged you and you haven’t even peed on a stick yet? Tell me when it’s real.
No oh my gods and no hugging until she pees on a stick.
I need to get you in a bed.
She’s 25.
But screw her, granny is getting a liver today!
My answer is hell no!
Yes, I’ll hold. (eye roll)
Why am I not just a friend?
Ugh. (eye roll)
I gave Zola a shirt, and then with Ellis, I was off the hook, becuase he was dead.
Last time I didn’t have to tell the father, because he was dead.
This is for the Christmas card.
She’ll be talking for two now.

10/10

The Middle 8.02

I felt the episode wasn’t as good as usual, but It was still funny enough and I did count 20 great lines/scenes so it’s a 10.

College can be so impersonal.
Your financial aid got resented because you failed to renew it.
East Indiana kicked me out! I’m not in college anymore!
Did you tell them how poor we were?!
When was the deadline?
March?
I am not an adult!
Everyone has to learn to grow the hell up right now!
Kenny, stop talking.
Wait, I gotta poop again.
I’m gonna have to ask you to stop touching the photo of my cat.
If I’m gonna sneak out of work in the middle of the day, it better involve a margarita or a cinema.
Why can’t you parallel park!?
I swallowed the pill! I am a man!
Who cares!
I think you just lost our side mirror.
What about your parents’ business manager?
Why is the school emailing me? Don’t they know I don’t go here anymore?!
What happened to your side mirror?
Who cares?
I paid for it. I sold my half of the diaper business.
Why would you do that?
It’s Sue.

How To Get Away With Murder 3.04

A fantastic episode. Annalise’s licence is revoked. And Femke came back to say goodbye.

They found another body at the house.
I’m gay, she’s…
It’s complicated.
The defendant is represented by an unlicensed lawyer.
That’s physical assault.
Goofy looking table.
I am now in charge of this case.
Oh my God, it’s about your dad.
You stood by while your buddies raped Tiffany Howard
You think anyone ever believes a child in cases like this?
What the hell am I gonna do in the city? Move in with you, become your trophy wife?
I’m down with that.
Eve’s got more balls than all of you.
She sure thinks she’s Annalise.
You raped my client.
I plead the 5th.
I’m an alcoholic.
I’m sorry, I met someone. She wants me to move to San Francisco.
Does she love you? Do you love her?
I do.
You deserve it more than anyone. You deserve to be loved.
My father is dead.
It’s good to finally meet you, pop.
Who are you?
Frank.
It’s still not gonna make up for what you did to her.

10/10

How To Get Away With Murder 3.05

They showed up Frank’s backstory, Annalise’s miscarriage, Sam was back and Bonnie and Frank hooked up.

Cremate him.
How was it?
Lovely.
This is sexual harassment.
11 years earlier.
If you want me to take a pro bono case how about nit a wite guy wgi has violent tendencies.
How is this different than you asking me to help Bonnie?
Only a moron commits those kidd of infractions when you’re up for parole.
Ding dong. The bitch is dead.
We need to storm the presiden’t office and do Oh captain, my Captain.
Plenty of people prefer life on the inside. Someone feeds you., tells you were to be all the time, sounds nice to me.
It is illegal to do an unlawful search and seize of someone’s property.
Run away with me.
You were 13.
I planned it for weeks,
Frank you’re an idiot, you couldn’t even kill him right.
Sociopaths don’t cry after what they did, Frank.
Just tells us where your accent’s from.
We’re also messed up. Annalise especially, but you.
Frank isn’t gone.
I’m not in the mood to see your needy faces.
She can’t speak for herself? That’s not the Laurel I know.
Laurel is pregnant.
Annalise’s house burnt down.
Where’s Connor?

10/10

Younger 3.03

An average episode, I wish the next two were half as good.

What if I’m straight?
I gotta tell you something. People in this town know me and it’s possible they might be saying things about me which might be confusing.
I’m not the person you think I am and I don’t want you to be shocked.
What’s the big secret?
I was a slut in high school.
Stop trying to be so interesting.
You never know what’s gonna happen when you get in bed with a 26year old.
Wow, you are the real deal.

5/10

Scream Queens 2.03

Poor warted Taylor probably saw you naked and gaged and you were so enraged you killed him. Loved the Julia Roberts reference, since Emma is her niece, And it’s true, two people were left at the alter on Grey’s Anatomy, first Cristina by Burke, back in season 3, and much later Matthew the paramedic by April Kepner. At the end of the episode one of the most annoying characters gets killed.

Folks were being killed left and right.
I am alive, but I’m not living.
His ass was held back 8 years in the second grade.
61 degrees. You are dead.
Being left at the alter works in Julia Roberts movies and on Grey’s Anatomy.

6.5/10

Secrets and Lies 2.01

How come season 1 was so good, and season 2 is a disaster? I knew I shouldn’t have started it. Favorite part was when the mannequin fell from the sky while the victim’s family stopped by. Also, the show stars Terry O’Quinn or Locke from Lost, so I’ll keep watching. Did anyone notice how they force interracial couples on the viewers? 3 interracial couples in one family, seriously?

You didn’t know your wife had someone else’s baby?
I didn’t mean to kill him.

Greys 13.04

Didn’t  Webber close Denny’s clinic after he fired Izzie back in season 6? Karev at the clinic is basically me at work every day. Alex called Richard to talk to the alcoholic girl.

Denny Duquette Memorial Clinic
Things you didn’t do yesterday.
Do you think this is the place to hang out with your friends?
She’s yours now, I’m not taking her back.
So this means it’s real. I’m not overreacting?
There’s no way that other asshat doctor would have figured it out.
You didn’t decide to side with me, because of you and I?
You guys love each other, you can say anything.
I once chocked Cristina.

SVU 18.03

A mom decides to sleep with an admissions officer to get her son into a prestigious university. The man turns out to be a con. The kid can’t take it.

In 10 minutes she goes from best sex ever to you raped me?
So Noah is not getting into the fancy school?
She slept with the admissions officer?
There is a rapist out there pretending to be you.
Do any of the moms offer sex?
Did you mean to hurt yourself?
I’m saying that what he did to you was rape.
Ask me, that’s rape.
She screwed some guy trying to get her kid into college?
That’s campus security.
Win or lose we need to make a statement.
What you did is not sex, trust me.
Why did you tell me to testify?
How many women will we let this man victimise.?

8/10

SVU 18.04

Amanda’s psycho sister is back! And they explained all her craziness and irrational behavior as bipolar disorder!? Anyone else mad at this? Does this mean we’ll see more of Kim now that she’s living with Amanda? Does this mean she’s a regular now? Will she never do anything stupid again now that they think they know what’s wrong with her?! I am upset. The writers show us that everything is explainable. And we’ve never even seen her ‘depressed’ behavior to assume she’s bipolar. Amanda diagnosed the victim as bipolar and then it turned out her sister is bipolar too. Loved the case and this episode.

I have trust in Jesus.
Women get raped and killed in shelters.
I was raped.
Not here to judge you.
He paid for what he got.
He paid for what he took.
I can’t have my life blown up. Not right now.
Cause he raped you. There’s no such thing in this line of work.
You can’t rape a hooker.
No one deserves to be raped.
I’m a tabloid headline.
I’ve been an SVU detective for 17 years.
And then he did it anyway.
I am ashamed of what I did, but I’m not ashames that I was raped.
How dare you say my body isn’t perfect!
She has a bipolar disorder.
It’s for bipolar disorder.
You didn’t tell me.
You didn’t ask, Amanda.

The Middle 8.01

What a fantastic episode! No backup plan has always been my motto. Anyone else loves Greer Grammer as Axl’s ‘simple’ girlfriend as much as I do?

I was a girl in the well for 14 weeks.
Team Aniston! I am totally gonna wear this!
You have to be all in. No backup plan!
Put on a bra.What’t the word…um…good!
Oh, what’s the word…dumb!
Axl isn’t exactly the sharpest tool in the shed.
At least he can find the shed!
Hello, old friend. Woop! Damn it!
Did he just call me Mike?
Who’s the blonde?
Where’s the bathroom again?
First on the left. First on the left.
This is how bad it is. We’re crossing our fingers for Cindy.

10/10

The Goldbergs 4.03

Adam helped Erica out after she stole his Brady Bunch idea and I love this show.

Enough with your folk tales, old man.
I don’t know and more importantly, I don’t care.
Come on, go on Surfin Saffari with your mama.
This is my fucking nightmare.
Like any sensible adult, I stole an idea from The Brady Bunch.
That’s crazy no one wants to be an urologist.
I’ve never even seen The Brady Bunch.
I’d like to dig in, but this is nuts level, buddy.
Good luck to you, Beverly.
Is there anything I can do?
He just wasn’t the one.
You and Geoff are the real deal.
I’ll come back in another 4 years.

6.5/10

The Goldbergs 4.04

Oh my god, Erica. Dad did something that doesn’t suck!
Don’t record the suggested message!
Shut up, convenience.
And it’s advertised on TV, so you know it’s good.
Because you took me to see Psycho when I was little.
What the fuck is this?!

5/10

How To Get Away With Murder 3.03

This season is so much better than the crappy season 2! And Annalise just slapped her client!

Look straight into the camera.
Go make sure our client doesn’t purchusa Micheala.
I was kidnapped at 16 and he wouldn’t pay the ransom.
I killed a girl.
My lawyer is blackmailing me.
Jamie’s mother still updates the website every week.
It could have been me.
If police haven’t caught my father, I would have ran away and end up on the street.
I can call an annonymous tip.
There’s a dead girl it the freezer and I can’t do anything about it.
Say you’ll take the deal!
I am Annalise Keating’s lawyer.

7/10

American Horror Story 6.01

My first thought on this season was, ‘god, what a beautiful house’. At the first glance, season 6 reminds us of the hunted house in season one. Apparitions walking down the hallways, crazy pig headed people, croatoen, etc. I hate reality TV in general and I’m not a huge fan of crime docs, so I do not like this seasons’ format. I am still pissed that there is no opening credits this year that has always been my absoulte favorite!

Televised dramatization.
Back then, yoga was called streching. It’s something you do before not as excersize.
I got my degree in criminal psychology at UNC.
Did you know prescription painkillers can be more addictive than heroin?
I went from two pills a day to two pills an hour.
He was a serial rapist. A real asshole. I hate assholes.
My brother married one jumpy bitch.
Somebody’s gotta protect you from the wild man in the woods.
The sensors have been triggered by something.
When a mob showes up in the middle of the night with torches, they are not there to welcome you to the neighboorhood.
Someone’s in the house.
Why would someone break into my house to play a home movie?
I followed this woman straight into the forrest.

10/10

American Horror Story 6.04

Denis O’Hare is back!

It was a ritual. A sacrifice. And he was being burned alive.
They never had a chance.
These go back to 1700s.
I saw a dead girl playing in the woods. She was the one who led us to the cellar to the videotapes.
One look at his face and there was no doubt, he’s been through something hellish.
She took my hand and the black veil was lifted.
Blood sacrifised to the antiant gods.
Tell me young man, have you evver heard the term ‘gay for pay’?

9.5/10

American Horror Story 6.05

I hated this episode and it was the one who was supposed to wrap up Ranoake season one and it was just boresome. At least there was The Grunge reference and I enjoyed the scene were all the female servants were thrown into the cellar and their bones were found after years. I hated Evan’s accent. It was slightly British at parts, but he should have had some training. I loved the half the face getting all dark when Evan moved the torch away part.

2/10

Younger 3.02

So Kelsey was raped by her ex friend’s twin brother and they made a joke of it. What is worse, Peter Herman, who also happens to be Mariska Hargitay’s husband, is on the show. Not okay. Younger, strike out one more time and I’m done with you.

I can help out with the tuition.
I can’t let you do that. I can’t tell you how much that means to me.
Will you throw that in the pool?

3.5/10

The Simpsons 28.01

This year women may audition with permission of father, husband and pastor. In wirking.
An old man is prwling the school looking for your children. Please perform for him.
Excellent villain!
Do you ever say anything in a simple way?
Shut up.
Well, that was clear.
Thanks a lot, Lisa. we were getting out of school for this.
You’re telling me that really happened?
They looked just like us, didn’t they?

5/10

The Simpsons 28.02

Such a funny episode, and it got a little nasty at the end too.

You’ll never have this.
Cheap piece of plastic with photos of ugly people?
Maggie talk. No one listen? Maggie never talk again.
I think I remember what happened, Marge.
How could you remember, you were on your phone half the time.
If you can afford good Wifi, you use it.
Oh look, it’s the ugly people from the cube!
Stoned at a funeral.
When did salad get so awful?
Kale ruined everything.
I have a bike too, I keep a lock on it.
I have no interest ain riding your bike.

8/10

The Simpsons 28.03

The dog before me?!
I knew I didn’t pay this month’s mortgage for a reason.

2/10

The Good Place 1.01

Or the only show this season that I actually like. Even though it’s weak and stupid half the time, it’s still good enough for a comedy, and this was a fine trailer.

Relax. Everything’s fine.
Every religion uessed about 5%.
There’s a good place and a bad place. You’re in the good place.
Sponsored by two otters holding hands while they sleep.
I can only play you an audio clip of what’s happening there right now.
I spent half of my life fighting for women rights  and the other half of my life fighting for gay rights.
And he said, you can’t give me both of your kidneys. You’ll die.
But you will live. And I know we only just met on this bus 10 minutes ago, but you seem nice.
What a condensatong bench. Whay does she still have that British accent? No one here has an accent.
I just need to go steal some gold stuff.

8/10

The Good Place 1.02

Much worse than the pilot, still interesting enough.

What kind of pornography would you like to access?
Where am I from?
Is it racist if I say Africa?
Senso…dyne?
That’s a brand of toothpaste.
Have you seen my dog?
Imagine something that brings you joy.
People poking on rollercoasters.
You don’t belong here.

3/10

The Good Place 1.03

Welcome to the neighborhood. Even though we all got here at the same time.
Here’s some dirt I put in a bag, because I’m amazing.
Fun fact, Columbus is in the Bad Place, because of all the raping, slave trade and genocide.
I’m not supposed to be here too.

2.5/10

The Good Place 1.04

And it’s still getting worse.

Your favorite meal was the hunger strike you went on to protest Boliwian sex trafficking.

Our shows are back! What do you guys think about the new fall shows? I hated Notorious, I watched two episodes and it may be one of the most boring TV shows ever made. I think I’ll just stick with The Good Place. And I still need to see This is Us and The Exorcist!

Greys 13.01

I hated this opening episode with every fiber of my being. Karev beat DeLuca up, and was that eye injury really necessary?

2/10

Greys 13.02

Didn’t they close the Denny Duquette clinic back in season 6? When did it get reopened?

Felony in the second degree.
How do you plead, Dr Karev?
Not guilty.
Which parent is ready to hear that yes, your toddler i dead, but here’s a bill for quarter million dollars anyway.
Do you have a decent lawyer, do you need help?
You got along at the wedding.
It was a wedding, I had tequila.
She named her tumor after her ex husband’s mistress.
I was attacked, I remember.
I think I might have just threatened DeLucaa
Who is Mrs Petercan?
She doesn’t know that you’re madly in love with me.
What hear about you threatening DeLuca?
Where is Dr Alex? I want Dr Alex.
You were the big surprise. You were most improved. The person who beat up DeLuca is a person I thought you left a long time ago.
The Denny Duquette clinic?
We walked through doors as interns, we’re thrown into the deep end together, told to save lives together, to save each other, we become family.
I slept with Riggs.

Greys 13.03

What is happening to Greys?! Yawn, yawn, yawn. And why did they show us the eye surgery again? Other than that, Ben was just his perfect self yesterday. And Tucker Jones is so grown up! He looks 12 already!

Edit

After rewatching the episode, I realized it was actually really good.

It sucks but I’m fine.
Welcome back, Robbins.
Morgue. There’s not much emergencies in that job.
Excuse me?
You’re the boss.
I am a big chunk of this hospital, so technically I am.
I don’t want to go to jail.
That’s the guy you trained and raised or whatever.

SVU 18.01

I was running on reruns and holding on to the last straw. Season 18 started off with an intense Central Park scene, where Liv had to calm down a little child who pointed a gun at her and her son Noah. What a season opener. The episode went more into a terrorism side, than what the show is all about, but Olivia didn’t give in and did everything she could to help the abused Muslim woman. SVU covered recent mass shootings, while staging a Central Park shooting. Throughout the whole episode she had a lovely ‘fed up with perps’ attitude and Mariska was an absolute scene stealer. Here are some quotes I loved, you know the drill.

I am in the park with Noah.
I found him in Central Park, he had a gun.
Rita, you’re representing terrorists now.
Hell of a ride to get on.
She was raped and tortured by him and his brother.
Your job cost my son his life.
Rape or no rape she is a killer.
I am going to investigate a case that everyone wants me to ignore.
Unless you had in vitro, you had sex.
She asked you a question.
I want a lawyer.
Okay. (the way Mariska said ‘okay’)
I believe her and so does she.

9.5/10

SVU 18.02

A teenager was obsessed with Amanda and lied to please her and Amanda said it was not her fault he has a crush on her and that was the best part of the episode. A man rapes the only daughter of a woman who accused him of raping her years ago as the prison ‘made him a rapist’.

The girl was raped, beaten and stabbed.
She was pretty, like you.
Plus Detective Rollins…
I know she’s an attractive woman.
Detective Rollins flirted with you.
It’s not my fault he has a crush on me.
I was raped in prison all the time.

Shameless 7.01

Woah, season 7, what are you doing? I disliked most of the episode for the first time in the history of watching this show! It started off okay and then it got…boring! I didn’t know nurses had to wash coma patient’s genitalia, so thanks for that Shameless. I’ll tell repeat that to my best friend who’s finishing nursing school now. Another reason not to go into medicine. And I hated that Carl’s girlfriend practically bullied him into having a circumscription at 15, what the fuck. Not everyone is a jew, you know? The only thing I liked about this was that Lip will work at Fiona’s diner and I really enjoyed Debbie stealing these baby strollers and getting a nanny. I still don’t understand why Fiona got to keep her ex fiancee and boss was the one who moved away.

Holy Mother of Jesus.
It’s okay. I’ll just superglue it.
You’re thing is kinda weird.. It has all that extra skin. It freaks me out.
I could use an extra person on dishes.
Done.

3.5/10

The Goldbergs 4.01

When I heard The Goldbergs were doing The Breakfast Club episode, I thought it would be epic. Hell, I was expecting tears running from my eyes. I usually hate when shows act out the famous scene from this teen classic. I loved their tribute to The Goonies! And many other films, including Dirty Dancing or The Ghostbusters, etc. The only show that honored and celebrated The Breakfast Club well enough was Cougar Town a few years back.

Aww The Breakfast Club. Truly the ultimate teen movie of the 80s.
Why aren’t you moving?! Stop it! Start moving your body!I received my teaching license and I am now a substitute teacher.
See you in the halls, delicious people.
It’s just like The Breakfast Club!
I’m not the nerd!
Again, this is just like the movie.
You’re all wearing hats, like idiots.
Sincerely, The Breakfast Club.

6/10

The Goldbergs 4.02

I hope the whole season won’t be this bad. Why is Erica so obsessed with Geoff, she didn’t care about his feeling for years. I would have understood if she realized he was her soulmate, but why the sudden obsession?

Bookkeeper is not a librarian.
And most of my customers is me in different costumes.
My first professional paying gig!

How To Get Away With Murder 3.01

Frank shot Wes’s father and one of the students or Bonnie die at the end of season 3! Screaming in the woods as a form of letting go.

You get to be lawyers, responsible for your own cases.
Killer.
We’re good people now.
At least they chose a good photo.
Why are you always stalking me?
You were never normal, you just didn’t know it till now.
The five is in the bottom 10%.
When I look at you, all I see is Frank.
Who is it?

How To Get Away with Murder 3.02

I wasn’t concerned until you started talking how not concerned you are.
I did what you did. I killed a guy and I got away with it.
Wipe it clean. Everything on it.

4.5/10

Transparent 3.01

Moira’s scenes at the beginning were amazing! Anything else was awful. Ali was practically sexually assaulted, but sure whatever. Every time the kids defend their mapa’s genre I feel so proud.

Told us to sign that in case we were kidnapped.
Can you change the M please?
Go fuck yourself.
Okay, I will.
She’s a woman! Her name is Moira!
His vitals.
HER vitals!
I am not doing things I could be doing.
I don’t want to die with some arrogant asshole calling me Mr Fefferman.

3.5/10

Younger 3.01

All this Liza Charles business is insane. I want them to get together. I doubt he’d care that she’s 40. So she lied, everyone lies about their age. I never saw the Liza/Josh connection. Homeless man in the wedding dress, though! Excellent.

Charles kissed me in the man’s department.
The sales who picked it out…
That’s for fat people.
You want a tour?
Sure.
This is were I sit. This is where I sleep.
It was just a kiss, Liza. Let it go.

4.5/10

American Horror Story 6.02

Anyone actually enjoying this season? For me it’s boredom. Remember how good the first 4 seasons were? I miss Jessica Lange every time I watch this show.

Percilla. The little girl with weird clothes.
Do you see her?
I see her.
Is that the same guy you saw in the video?

5.5/10

American Horror Story 6.03

Inbred hillbillies drinking pig’s milk and then masturbated while OJ Simpson had unconscious sex with Lady Gaga. Yeah, it’s finally getting fucked up. Doll with pig’s head and other cute gory things equally on point.

Your daughter is with Perscilla.
There can never be a friendship between dead and the living.
You were screwing this woman against the tree while these hillbillies watched.

Scream Queens 2.01

I guess now we all know why they invited Uncle Jesse to the show. Yes, my favorite scene was the one where Emma Roberts took her clothes off the minute she saw John Stamos naked. I also enjoyed that a Netflix documentary exonerated the Channels. And we all know people who went to med school even though they didn’t study enough and then there are people who really should be doctors and had to retake their exams even though they were much higher than the rich ones the first time. Don’t even get me started with online med schools and doctors who can’t diagnose the simplest things and check everything online while you’re asking them questions. Is everyone else loving Kristie Ally in this as much as I am?!

That Netflix documentary that exonerated us.
Shut up, number 5!
Turns out, I love blood! Looove it!
Turns out I’m really good at poking people!
Oh my god, thank you, right?!
Uhm, let’s go over what’s expected of you.
Dr. Hot.
Through the power of the Internet, anyone can be an M.D.
Still dressing as sluts, I see.Your obvious stupidity will not get past me.
You rich dumb whores.

Scream Queens 2.02

So bad it hurt at times.

Have you graduated high shool to become a detective?
I haven’t been man handled in 2 years.
Lot of work for relatively small and insignificant amount of land.
Call the police. No don’t call them. They’re morons!
From now on, when someone is about to take off the mask, don’t interrupt them with stupid questions!
Julianna Margulies.

Grey’s Anatomy In Preparation for Season 13

Season 13 starts September 22nd and this is just a summary of where we left of and what my expectations for the next season are.

My second favourite show, after the cousin from the same family, Private Practice. The first episode of Greys I watched was the ‘Heart in the Elevator,’ but the episode that got me into the show was the bomb in the heart two-parter. I know many people loved the show the first couple of seasons and then just stopped watching, which I will never understand as it’s so addictive it’s one of these shows you can’t put it down. How do you go on with your life, not knowing what Meredith and the gang are up to? I was flipping through channels one day and I asked my dad whether he’s seen this show and my dad said ‘Oh yeah I know it, it’s really good. So that’s the main character and she has an Asian best friend and they’re surgical interns.’ I was hooked. Season 12 ended 4 months ago and my mom has been asking me about S13 promo since the beginning of August. She really wanted to know what was Deluca’s condition and if Karev would be charged with assaulting him. In season 13, I expect to meet Jo’s husband. I’m really scared about Arizona’s love life, as Calzona was the absolute endgame and has always been my number 1 Greys couple even over Merder. I want Meredith with the New Zealander. I hope they won’t introduce any new interns or doctors.

How about you? Do you think you can wait another month for Greys to return?

I am so happy Mel Gibson is back. Go see the trailer for Blood Father. William H. Macy is in it too! While growing up all my dad talked about were Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson, it’s good to see Mel again, I only watched The Beaver since his 2004 films, and he hasn’t been in much since then.

freerideburied

Free Ride

More or less by accident I have seen all films starring a rising young actress Liana Liberato. I loved her performance in Trust, a very important film about sexual predators online, directed by David Schwimmer, yes that’s Ross from Friends. It’s one of my 100 favorite films and I rewatch it on DVD every couple of months. I have been following Liana’s career since 2010, so when I saw Free Ride expiring on Netflix, naturally I had to see it. Free Ride is a true story of the film’s director and screenwriter’s mother, who was a drug dealer. Yes, when you think about it, it is real time Weeds. Free Ride lightly covers sad life of a drug dealer and their loved ones. Anna Paquin’s friend was annoying as hell, why does half of the films feature an annoying best friend. The film wasn’t groundbreaking at any point, but it’s always fun to watch a film actually based on true events.

7/10

Buried

I don’t get the puff is about, I have been meaning to watch it for ages, and I was extremely disappointed. Buried was boring, and definitely not thrilling. Go watch Brake with Stephen Dorff and Chyler Leigh it’s very similar, but much more suspenseful that this.

3/10

hush alliegant

Hush

It wasn’t that good, why is everyone so excited about it. The neighbor’s boyfriend was so dumb he believed the killer was a policeman and gave his phone to him. They cast a hearing person for a deaf part, when there are so many unemployed deaf actors. I am not happy with this. This wasn’t some big production to show off a famous actor’s abilities. The one thing I liked about this was that the writer wrote down her last words to her parents the very last minute, I thought that was nice. There are tons of good horror films out there and this is not one of them. A special point for Derek’s killer finally getting what she deserved.

3.5/10

Allegiant

Oh boy, this series again. I started watching it for Naomi Watts, and I did like the first one. It gets worse and worse with each installment. Not true though, the second one was much worse than this one. I wish they could do 7 Hunger Games and just one of Divergent. I do remember there was a fun song in end credits.

4/10

echo boo

Earth to Echo

I think I mistook it for some other sci-fi kids film, and it wasn’t Super 8. I remember seeing Super 8 at the movies. I think it was called Wall-e something like that. I chose to watch this because I thought oh yeah It was Oscar nominated so why not. Earth to Echo will only make any impression on you if you’re a primary school kid. It tried to be Goonies at parts, it tried to be E.T. and it failed. The ending was a bit moving, but that’s all because of music. I think if you have kids you should show it to them, if you don’t, don’t watch it.

4/10

Boo

Apparently it was so bad, I can’t recall what it was about.

The Aviator

A beautiful portrayal of obsessive compulsive disorder. OCD characters show up extremely rarely on film, usually in one episode of a TV series. A show that went into the subject a little deeper and didn’t judge it or downplay it was Grey’s Anatomy. In season 10 one of supporting characters, Miranda Bailey developed OCD behavior for a couple of episodes, before being treated and put on medication. Back in season 2 there was a patient who had a very severe case of OCD and had to be assured everything was ‘clean, clean clean’. Most of the time if there even is an OCD character, it’s only mentioned superficially. Fortunately, in The Aviator it is perfectly shown. So realistically in fact, DiCaprio had to go to therapy himself as his own OCD amplified. Shame he didn’t get an Academy Award for his fantastic performance, I’m sure he would have won if people knew about his own struggles and how he risked his sanity to some extent. Plus his Howard Hughes performance is so much more important than his The Revenant role. Another aspect of the film that caught my attention was the focus on Hugh’s famous flying accident, that many people don’t know of or don’t remember. Every film layman has seen at least 5 Scorsese’s films, sometimes by accident, and this one comes up in those 5 most popular ones. I love how Scorsese adjusted scenography and colors with each year in colored film. Notice how blue the film seems at the beginning? More often than not Scorsese’s films lack focus on his female characters, they are added as a decoration, very stereotypical, but The Aviator ladies had just enough screen time, at times I thought they actually got a little more than expected. Cate Blanchet gave a wonderful performance as usual, and her Katherine Hepburn accent was quite delightful. One thing, which I suppose didn’t happen and was added by the scriptwriter was the last scene of Howard with Ava Gardner, portrayed by Kate Beckinsale, having a final chat with Howard and effortlessly helping him get better without realizing this saying ‘Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?’, which calmed even me down. The film didn’t focus on Howard Hughes the director/producer, but the aviator, which is understandable since he quit cinema for planes and later was overtaken by his disorder. If you haven’t seen the Outlaw or Hell’s Angels yet, do so.

‘You don’t care about money because you’ve always had it.’

Does that look clean to you?
Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?

‘You listened to my phone calls?’
‘No! Honey I would never do that! I just read the transcripts.’

I don’t want them bribed, Jack. I want it done legally. I want them bought.

‘I feel like a little adventure.’
‘Do your worst, Mr. Hughes.’

9/10

Short Term 12

How have I not heard of this film till yesterday, when I saw it expiring on Netflix ? It was simply wonderful, one of the psychological meets mental issues meets social problems films. The minute I read the description on Netflix, I had a feeling this is were the film was going. Short Term 12 tells a story of a young social worker sexually abused by her father in the past who meets a young teenager who she suspects is going through similar abuse. I absolutely loved that the medusa and shark children story the girl wrote referring to her abuse, may as well have been about the girl’s relationship with a razor. The film includes some of the most accurate quote about self harm I have seen captured on film. I highly recommend this independent masterpiece to everyone.

‘When I was your age, I had to stand in a courtroom with a bunch of strangers and tell them all the ways that he abused me. What he hit me with. How he got drunk. How he forced me to take a shower with him. Got me pregnant. I sent him to prison. I didn’t talk about it. I didn’t think about it. Until I met you.’

‘Last night, that girl sat next to me and she cried and she tried to tell me the only way that she knew how.’

‘It’s impossible to worry about anything else when there’s blood coming out of you.’

‘All fucked up now, damn near 18. All the pictures in my past ain’t never fading. I’m always wishing for something amazing but when your life is shit then it ain’t no trade in so put me in your books so you know what it’s like to live a life not knowing what a normal life’s like put a label on my head so you know what it’s like not knowing what a normal life’s like look into my eyes so you know what it’s like, look into my eyes so you know what it’s like, look into my eyes so you know what it’s like to live a life not knowing what a normal life’s like.’

‘Once upon a time, there lived a young octopus named Nina and she was very happy. But then, on Monday, the Shark showed up. “Do you want to be my friend? Just let me eat one of your arms,” said the Shark. Nina had never had a friend before, so she donated an arm to her wonderful new friend. Every day that week, Nina and the Shark would play together. And every night, Nina would give him another one of her arms to eat. On Sunday, after playing all day, the Shark told Nina that he was very hungry. “I’ve already given you six of my arms, and now you want one more?” She said.“I don’t want one. This time I want them all. Because that’s what friends are for.” When the shark finished his meal that night, he felt very sad and lonely. He missed Nina very much. So, he swam away to find another friend.’

‘I know the rules: no belts, no razors, no scissors, no fucking freedom.’

‘Grace, you are a line staff. It’s not your job to interpret tears. That’s what our trained therapists are here for.’
‘Then your trained therapists don’t know shit.’

‘Take the advice you give your kids every fucking five minutes and learn to talk about what’s going on inside your head.’

‘Please don’t be offended if I’m not very friendly, but I’m going to be living with my dad soon, and I don’t really like wasting time on short-term relationships. So, you know, it’s nothing personal.’

9/10

Far North

A lovely but monotonous film starring Jessica Lange. I am not sure why Patricia Arquette’s character was a bit on the crazy side and slutty too, but the film as a whole was satisfactory. There was this one very relatable scene where Jessica’s character talks about her rushing to move out the minute she could and not thinking about coming back home and now realizing it’s nice to have somewhere to come back to and explaining to her sister that there are worse things than raising your child in the house you grew up in.

4.5/10

Starting Over

A Burt Reynolds film you only saw if you’re a huge Burt Reynolds fan or if you were a divorcee starting over in 1979. Jill Clayburgh looked so much like Diana Keaton in this film. The second hal of the film got more romantic comedy like with Burt throwing balls and making her fall into the little basin. Are we supposed to be happy he tried to get back together with his ex-wife or are we supposed to treat it as a betrayal?’ Hight difference and sexual element?’ The storyline wasn’t special but Jill Clayburgh and Candice Bergen were both nominated for an Academy Award for their roles.

6/10

Hustle

And I thought Starting Over was weak. Without a doubt the worst film of both Burt Reynolds and Catherine Deneuve. I only liked the surprisingly tragic and somewhat random ending. If you cut out the grieving parents, you’d have a really shitty film.

3.5/10

He Said, She Said

Kevin Beacon’s character was a little too shady with not being able to decide whether he does love Elizabeth Perkins’ character enough or not, once saying she loves her and another time that she can’t marry her. I am always shocked that Elizabeth’s career did not start off after this. I am glad she finally got recognition for Weeds, but her 80s/90s films and her character on Weeds are two completely separate things. The film was a bit cheesy at times, but what romantic comedy isn’t.

6/10

Fruitvale Station

A moving biopic about the 2008 New Years Eve tragedy. This films is produced by Forest Whitaker and it stars Michael B. Jordan and Octavia Spencer. Not only was Oscar targeted as a black man, he also had to come across a dumb cop who mistook a gun for a taser. 22 is way too early to go. Thanks to Netflix for showing me this. There’s not much I need to say about this, go watch this especially now with what’s happening yet again.

‘Nooo! Don’t go. I’m scared.’
‘Scared of what?’
‘I hear guns outside.’
‘You know what, baby? Those are just firecrackers. You’ll be safe inside, with your cousin.’
‘But what about you Daddy?’
‘Me? Baby, I’ll be fine.’

‘You shot me. I got a daughter…’

‘I told him to take the train. I didn’t know they were gonna hurt my baby. I should’ve let him drive, but I wanted to keep him safe. You gotta let me hug him. Please, let me hug him. He didn’t like to be alone.’

‘Where’s daddy?’

7/10

Secrets of Eden

John Stamos as a priest, what in the world is this? No one actually suspected the priest, as it was just too obvious, so I was quite invested to see how it all came together. I don’t think I’ve seen any of these actors before other than Uncle Jesse and the Breaking Bad wife. Every once a while there’s a Lifetime film worth watching, and this isn’t it.

4/10

Cyberbully

I liked the other Cyberbully so much more. The 2010 one starring Emily Osment was filmed from the perspective of a victim of bullying and this one is about a bully being bullied. I expected something more jumpy like Unfriended or at least a better threat than a bunch of naked pictures being posted. I didn’t even know people made sites just to laugh at Youtubers for how unprepared they are, I thought It was just mean people commenting stuff on their channels, like since the dawn of the Internet. Honestly I only liked the last scene – not really a spoiler – when she yelled ‘Dad’ and you could hear him running to her. -Spoiler – I hated that we never found out who the person who did this were. Please check out the 2010 Cyberbully, it was wonderful, and skip this mediocrity.

Hi guys, this is my 300th post, enjoy!

Greys 12.24

Still crying over Calzona never happening. There may have been warnings, but it’s still unbelievably hard to let go of a character you love. We deserved so much more. I hate that we didn’t get an appropriate closure with Callie. But most of all, I’m mad she left! Tremendously sad and angry about all this. Very happy about Benjamin cutting Kepner’s baby out on Meredith’s kitchen table. According to my notes this episode was 24/10, so that says something. I always download every single song featured on Greys, so I am currently obsessed with that new Rihanna song.
Can’t expect her to be Cristina.
I’ve had the love of my life.
Who? Izzie?
I am sober!
You’ve no idea how many people have locked themselves in that bathroom.
Stuff your feelings in!
Mer and I, the two of us, we’ve been through hell.
He left her to me and she left you to me.
Derek was supposed to walk me down the isle. He walked every one of my sister to the isle.
Nothing’s wrong with Owen.
He could use some sun.
I presented you with a menu of options and you chose to run.
Who has that twice?
Okay, can’t think of anyone.
Richard Webber.
Thank you!
He doesn’t even know my real name.
Poor guy, he loved me so much.
You showed superb technique. You saved two lives today.
I’m saying let’s all be happy.

10/10

SVU 17.20

This is one of the most common cases. I have friends who got into the modeling industry and quit just as quick as they were discovered after seeing their fellow friends go through this.

I didn’t want him to do that.
She took pictures of the rape.
Rape?
Yes, rape.
I warned her about this creep.
That bruise wasn’t there last night.
Is this art or porn?
Is that the camera you used during the shoot?
Sally didn’t want what he did to her.
This woman sets up models to be raped.
She looks terrified!
He doesn’t ask, he takes.
That story has a happy ending, she’s pimping for him now.
When I stimulated violence, she got off on it.

10/10

SVU 17.21

Another wonderful episode. SVU takes down every Bachelerotte-like reality series. Olivia and Fin’s reactions to Amanda and Carissi eating dinner together were priceless.

Who actually watches this show?
Wait, I don’t remember any of this.
Did you see what I just saw?
Did they just air rape?
Did Ryan rape me?!
That could be rape.
They said it wasn’t.
She signed a waver.
So I’m not a virgin anymore?
This girl didn’t realize she was raped until she saw it on live TV?
I got an STD from the rape!
He put it in her only for a couple seconds.

10/10

The Good Wife 7.22

The disappointing finale. Alicia messed up her relationships with everyone, to yet again, save Peter. I am only happy they brought Will back. What’s with Sutton Foster’s extremely short cameo?

Look at me, do I look like I’m breaking down?
It’s a ringtone. It’s a freaking ringtone.
Someone else’s she was using her cell to call 911.
You were always drunk, loling around.
Good to see you again.
Again, where was I?
It’s good to see people find their purpose.
Grace said she’s gonna drop out of college to visit you in prison.

10/10

Castle 8.20

Funny as always.

I grew up here, experimenting with costumes, makeup.
These fine gentlemen are constables.
Richard Castle is leading the case with the help from NYPD.

Nashville 4.20

Where was Candace when they were shooting The View part!? Elton John played on Nashville, and Nashville still got cancelled.

She’s everything. Without her music doesn’t mean anything. Nothing means anything.
I can’t. It hurts too much.

Welcome to ReviewThisFilm

This website started in 2010 as weekly reviews of movies and tv episodes, and a diary of the 700 new films I watched every year. Today it’s a place for me to write a few words on films and tv shows that leave some sort of impact on me. I no longer write in depth reviews, mostly thanks to bad habits gained by spending many hours a day on Letterboxd.

If you have a film you would like me to watch and review,  please leave a comment.

Enjoy!

– Joanne

About the Author

All I do is watch movies, the good, the bad and the ugly. Sometimes I make my own.

Check out my latest film (120K+ views on Youtube):

www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP3Iz23hD7M

I’ve seen over 6000 films and 220 TV shows. I have a degree in Film Production, and wrote my dissertation on Italian neorealism. I mostly gravitate towards social issues films, anything Ken Loach, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Roberto Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica or Jafar Panahi, etc.

I rate films within genre. I watch a lot of films on Mubi, Filmbox Arthouse. My favourite directors are Yasujiro Ozu, Ken Loach, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Zhang Yimou, Roberto Rossellini, Ingmar Bergman, Brian De Palma, Vittorio De Sica and Andrzej Wajda. My favourite actresses have always been Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. I’m nostalgic and reminisce a lot. I’m at the cinema 10 times a month. And I’m a Polish-British millennial.

I will watch anything:

psychological | arthouse | foreign | independent | drama | horror | lgbt | strong female characters | female centred films | dysfunctional families | sexual assault | troubled childhood | mental health issues

About me

I am the dark and twisty Meredith Grey, the mad Dexter Morgan, hoping to grow up to be a little more like the wise, but fun Nora Walker. I am an aspiring filmmaker. My favorite actresses are Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. Favorite genre – psychological drama. I watch anything with a sexual or mental abuse plot. I used to be a horror freak. I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, SVU and many more. My other interests include making oil and pencil portraits and wildlife conservation. I cannot say no to beautiful landscapes, travel, Aussie accent, TV/film quotes and avocados. I have recently moved back from Australia to the UK. I’ve been running this blog for the last 9 years. Here I comment on films and episodes I watch. Enjoy! – Joanne

favourite film and tv quotes

‘When I lived in Porpoise Spit, I used to sit in my room for hours and listen to ABBA songs. But since I’ve met you and moved to Sydney, I haven’t listened to one Abba song. That’s because my life is as good as an Abba song. It’s as good as Dancing Queen.’ (Muriel’s Wedding)

‘I used to think about
your life in New York. I tried to imagine your room. I kept track of the time difference, so I  knew when you were awake and when you were asleep.’ (Disobedience)

‘Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?’ (The Aviator)

‘No, I’m not quitting. I don’t quit things.’
‘No, actually you do. Your mother quit your father. Your father quit you. You quit your boyfriend and if I read your hospital chart correctly you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It’s what you know how to do.’ (Greys)

‘Where the hell was I that year?’
‘Your were watching television’. (Everybody Loves Raymond)

‘It’s impossible to worry about anything else when there’s blood coming out of you.’
(Short Term 12)

‘I wanted it to happen. And when we were girls… Even then, it was the same. It’s always been this way! I have always wanted it.’ (Disobedience)

‘Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a moment when our lives change forever. The moment we admit our weaknesses, the moment we rise to a challenge, the moment we accept a sacrifice, or let a loved one go. And sometimes the change in our lives is an answer to our prayers.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Yesterday I went to the movies all day by myself. One after the other. I’ve never done that before. I had a really happy day.’ (Doing Time for Patsy Cline)

‘I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are going to change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed a feel like I might die today.’ (Greys)

‘She saved me my whole life. Without her, I’m nothing.’ (The Favourite)

‘Don’t wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don’t. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.’  (Greys)

‘Bree sobbed quietly in the restroom for five miutes, but her husband never knew, because when Bree finally emerged, she was perfect.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘I am not food, you cannot just eat and eat.’ (The Favourite)

‘I don’t love him.’
‘Of course you do.’
‘No!’
‘Don’t take me for a fool Olive,  I’m many things but I’m not a fool.’
‘I know that, you’re brilliant.’
‘Don’t you see, it’s over. Whatever this is, was, it’s over.’
‘I love You.’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing, is reason enough to celebrate.’ (Greys)

‘Many years ago, a neighbour and a good friend of ours took her life, and that left us all heartbroken and perplexed. But somehow, when I was alone in that hotel room, I forget about all the pain that she caused. In those awful moments, I thought maybe she had the answer.‘ (Desperate Housewives)

‘What happened last year when you fell in the water?’
‘I almost drowned. Do you think I did that for kicks?’
‘You put your hand in a body cavity that contained unexploded ammunition.’
‘I was trying to save a patient!’
‘Why is it that every other person in that room had the sense to hit the deck? You know people run away from this line between life and death. You seem to stand on it and wait for a strong wind to sway you one way or the other. You’re careless with your life. You’re not slitting your wrists but you’re careless. Probably because your mother told you you were a waste of space on this planet. The problem is you believed her. And if you don’t want out one of these days you’re going to die because of it.’  (Greys)

‘This is the street where I used to live and these were the people with whom I shared my life. I met them the day they moved in. And I saw what they brought with them. Beautiful dreams for the future. And quiet hopes for a better life. Not just for themselves, but for their children, too. If I could, would I tell them what lies ahead? Would I warn them of the sorrow and betrayal that lie in store? No. From where I stand now, I see enough of the road to understand how it must be traveled. The trick is to keep moving forward, to let go of the fear and the regret that slow us down and keep us from enjoying a journey that will be over too soon. Yes, there will be unexpected bends in the road, shocking surprises we didn’t see coming, but that’s really the point. Don’t you think?’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Was your life not working when you let that slip out from under you?’
‘When are you going to stop suggesting that I’m suicidal?’
‘When you start acting like someone that wants to be alive.’
‘Give me my chart.’
‘Why?’
‘Because I’m not suicidal, and if it says that I am, then it’s wrong.’ (Greys)

‘There is nothing wrong with me.’
‘Then show me your arm.’ (Degrassi)

‘Look, my whole life, I have been the freak. The girl who nobody picked for dodgeball. The girl who didn’t have a mom. The girl who dressed funny because it was her dad buying her clothes. And then, tonight I looked at these people, and I thought maybe there’s a future where I don’t have to be a freak. Maybe I can be who I am and that’s okay.’ (Everything Sucks)

‘Dr, I have been this way since…since I can remember. There is no cure.’ (American Horror Story)

‘He was so crazy about me, I couldn’t breathe. So we tried drinking our way back into love, but it never made sense in the morning. So I ran. And every time I came back, he was here. And he was still crazy about me.’ (My Blueberry Nights)

‘Bree van de Kamp had always wanted to live her life with elegance and grace. That is also how she wanted to die. Her plan was to pour herself a glass of her favorite chardonnay, put on her most stylish nightgown and leave behind a note on embossed stationery.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘All we have is this moment. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So be… here…. now.’ (Six Feet Under)

‘On the train coming here, we were in the same cart, I saw you, you were reading and you feel asleep. I didn’t dare to look at you, you were so beautiful, it was scary. Afterwards,  I couldn’t stop thinking about you. It made me smile. Then I thought of all the men who would get to hold you, who’d make you laugh. How lucky they were.’ (Enemy at the Gates)

‘It was a good day. Maybe even a great day. Even when it was hard, I was the me in my head. There was a moment when I thought I cant do this, I cant do this alone. I close my eyes and imagine myself doing it, and I did, I blocked out the fear, and I did it.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a time when we must expose our weaknesses. When our secrets can no longer remain private, when our solitude can no longer be denied, when our pain can no longer be ignored, but sometimes we feel so alone that a weakness we thought we’d overcome suddenly becomes too strong to fight.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Why did you get married, Esti? Why didn’t you just leave? So everything was all right when I left?’
‘No. I was ill.’
‘What sort of ill?’
‘In my head.’
‘If I had to sleep with a man, why not with our best friend?’
‘Oh, Esti…’
‘It hasn’t been a complete disaster.’
‘And that’s enough?! Do you have to have sex every Friday?’
‘It’s expected.’
‘It’s medieval. What happened to you?’
‘Nothing. You happened to me. And then I started teaching and that became important. I give them ambition.’
‘To do what? Push out seven babies and be a good wife?’
‘Don’t. Don’t. I help them to value themselves.’
‘Okay, but what about you?’
‘That is me. And you? Are you happy?’
‘Yes, I am.’
‘Have you been with other women?’
‘No. Not really. And you?’
‘No.’
‘But, Esti… Do you still
only fancy women?’ (Disobedience)

‘OK, then, listen. Let’s not get caught.’
‘What are you talkin’ about?’
‘Let’s keep goin’!’
‘What d’you mean?’
‘Go.’
‘You sure?’
‘Yeah. Yeah.’ (Thelma & Louise)

‘She let me live at Nora’s house. She let me believe that I was a part of their family. I fell in love with that family. What am I supposed to do, just sit there, pretend I’m related to them? I was happy. For the first time in my life I was happy.’ (Brothers and Sisters)

‘You will be left all alone with your bitterness and your rage and your knowledge that you loved her and she loved you and you threw it away for them.’
‘Do you love her?’
‘Yes.’
‘And Have you always?’
‘Yes.’
‘So then ask her.’

‘No razors, no scissors, no fucking freedom.’
(Short Term 12)
