Didn’t you just love season two of Fuller House?! Expect a post on it very soon. I haven’t posted for two weeks, because I have been too tired from crying over Gilmore Girls. If you want to see my review, check my previous post.

The Middle 8.05

Sue chooses a quite shocking major that made me think of Lorelai Gilmore the minute she said it. Mike beautifully explains to her she needs a good job to avoid the Heck lifestyle and Brick learns how to drive and hits the Orson cow with Axl’ RV.

Anything I should know?
The Lord’s prayer.
I am 15.
I thought you were 12.
Uh! Astronomy!
Should we be concerned about how much we hide from our kids?
Theatre Where’s the future in that?! She’s not good!
Veterinary school? That’s harder to get into than med school!
I’m thinking of adding Criminal Justice as one of my majors.
There’s no inheritance, so you need a job that pays well. You can’t just sign up for everything that looks fun.
The only reason you’re still in school is that Dad sold his half of the diaper business.
If you start digging around this yard in 5 minutes you’ll hit a report card.
I need to pick one major, so tell me what you want me to do and I’ll do it.
What? I’m not gonna do that.
You were never supposed to know. I just didn’t think you had to worry about that.
I don’t want you to be on the first name basis with an operator from the gas company. Even though Joyce is very nice and lets us spread the bill over three credit cards. I don’t want you to have to share a battery between two cars. I don’t want you to hope for a tornado to bring your next appliance. I’m not trying to scare you kid, but it’s hard sometimes living like we do. And what I hope for you is just that it can be different.

The Middle 8.06

The Hecks eat Nancy’s Thanksgiving food and the episode is hilarious as always.

Other people watch you like a pig, cause you got three scoops.
When Cindy doesn’t get what she wants, Brick doesn’t get what he wants. Reading time.
I didn’t recognize you in youre uniform. Thank you for your service.
No, I don’t have a middle name. Except for Rose.
She’s losing memory, so It’s important we see her.
Or you could just tell her you saw her.
I don’t like her either. Cindy said she could not get a conversation going with her, and Cindy can talk to anybody!
Because I’m responsible for you.
I never want you to stop looking out for me.
So she’s not even related?
Oh no she is to somebody, but not actually to us.
And by the way, not a good babysitte, cause she obviously dropped April on her head a few times!
Try a few hundread times!
Thank you Lord, for the Hecks. The best neighboors in the world.

How To Get Away With Murder 3.09

I was surprised to see who died. He’s the main character! Bonnie and Annalise almost hooked up and Olly knows about the night of Sam Keating’s disappearance. Police finally finds Rebecca’s body and Wes learns she was murdered.

Junk food is all I’m doing.
I wasn’t high, I was traumatised.
Traumatised from what?
Like you don’t already know.
Social services rescued me and I sescued myself.
You’re fired. Did you not hear me?
You’re the problem with the gay community.
We’re all the problem with the gay community.
Bonnie, who is it?
It’s Wes.
Middleton student identified as fire victim.

10/10

SVU 18.06

Hands down worst episode of SVU ever. They wanted to make another transgender-centred episode and they screwed it up big time, as we were presented with a extremely boring script. Read these to see the only good things about this episode.

Can’t people yse the bathroom they were born to use? Is that really so damn hard?
He thinks that because he’s in love with a transgender woman that he’s gay.
Three lives destroyed all because a woman named Eva was born a boy.
He killed a woman of your dreams.
The single just hit number one. That’s all that really matters.

3.5/10

The Goldbergs 4.07

The fourth Thanksgiving at The Goldbergs was just plain bad.

Everyone, come back! It’s fucking thanksgiving!

American Horror Story 6.10

Who wasn’t dissapointed with the Lana Winters link or camoeo? The finale to the Ranoke season. I didn’t exactly enjoy it, but the same can be said about the whole season. I hope you understand, that I could’t give it a 10.

Are you sure, it’s not me you love.
But they did die, didn’t they?
Welcome to the Lana Winters special.
You turned everyone else down. Because of you, because of who you are and what you’ve been through. I mean, Jesus. You killed your own son, Bloody Face.
I killed a psychopathic murderer before he could kill me.
Where is she, she was reported missing by her grandparents an hour before we went on the air.
She talks to much.
Sydney didn’t ask me to participate, and as it turns out, fortunately so.
Are you people crazy enough to be shooting another show here?
Lea Harris showed up in the middle of the night.
You stupid fucks, you deserve to die.
Not if Precila ddid to me what you wnat her to do to you.

9.5/10

Younger 3.06

Such a funny episode, more of them I beg of you!

My one desire is to service Charles.
We’re all beginning for more cock.
Look, Nancy Drew and leggier Nancy Drew.
It started as a writing exercise.
She’s someone in the Empirical family, we don’t want her making a relationship with another publisher.
Make the offer, we have to keep him in in the house.
That was a big safe, Liza.

6/10

Younger 3.07

As above, good episode.

It’s difficult to keep a secret, especially when you pretend to be someone else in order to be taken seriously in your profession.
It gets better.
That’s what they say to kids who are severely bullied.
He’s flirting with you through The New Yorker.

5.5/10

Younger 3.08

What a great episode, first one this season! Liza gets hit by a car while trying to return Diana’s city bike and Charles almost saw Liza’s real date of birth on her hospital wristband.

In my experience sex can be nothing and a kiss can mean a lot.
I had to buy extra storage on my Dropbox judt to open te file.
Your bike has been in an accident.
The one they gave me is wearing off. I think they didn’t account for my height.
I’m fine.
The bike is not FYI.
That should have been Becky.
Diana alerted the Empirical legal team and they alerted me.

8.5/10

Scream Queens 2.05

Funny, and overall good, everyone speaks with different accents, possibly the best this season. Why oh why did Jamie Lee say Freddy Krueger instead of Michael Myers?

For the love of God, number 5. Denise is dead could you maybe let us have two minutes that aren’t about you?
I finally  know what it felt like to be Freddy Krueger.
Hello non-doctor idiots. Sorry to interrupt your hard work cleaning bedpans, the only thing you’re qualified at any hospital on planet earth. Sorry, doctor tiny bitch.
These bed pans can wait till we find some less attractive people to clean them.
I’m pretty sure I ordered codde?
You didn’t order anything, this isn’t a restaurant.

9/10

Scream Queens 2.06

There are 3 Green Meanies!?

We’ve lost a lot of blood, so donate yours.
I’m sorry I haven’t welcomed you properly, by having sex with you.
And she’s a serial killer.
She’s a what?!

Most of our shows are now on a hiatus (thank God for Shameless and The Middle). I was shocked to hear SVU is on a hiatus without any prior announcement. Same with The Good Place. What will you be watching during the break? I will watch Gilmore Girls next Friday, then Fuller House on the 8th of December! I will also watch the rest of the new Transparent, the last few episodes of the last season of Bones and catch up on Jane the Virgin. I also plan to rewatch the first 3 seasons of American Horror Story, possibly seeing the 5th one, still uncertain if I should. Next week I’ll post a massive post on the shocking HTGAWM finale and much more!

Shows now on hiatus: Greys, SVU, How to Get Away With Murder, The Good Place, AHS (done until September 2017)

Shows with new episode for the next two weeks: Shameless, The Middle, Younger, The Simpsons, Scream Queens, Divorce

Greys 13.07

I don’t like the new character played by Justin’s girlfriend on Brothers and Sisters and Scott Foley’s wife. I’m not happy about her taking Webber’s job and eventually hooking up with Arizona. The highlight of this shitty episode was when the new character misspells Amelia’s name as Amelio Shepherd.

A teacher beat up a student.
We’ll see how fascinating she is when she starts handing out pink slips.
So direct her to the door.
Who the heck is Amelio Shepherd?!
That name with that face? It’s not one I’d forget about.

6/10

Greys 13.08

The way Ellen Pompeo said Zola’s name that one time, after the girl told her to go and fix daddy, as she fixes everybody. Absolutely breathtaking. The perfect definition of daydreaming was used as Meredith explained how we make someone up to get through the day in the closing narration. As some who daydreams 18/24 hours a day, let me tell you, it was fulfilling.  I could identify with this episode in a little different way as I have suffered from insomnia since I was 14, and working on used batteries is something I’m very familiar with, especially after working nights for 2.5 years. Richard treats the surgery as a teaching moment as he asks the doctors to imagine it’s someone they love laying on their table. They do something similar, Owen speaks to his missing sister, who tells him he should have married Meredith; Stephanie sees her younger version of herself; Meredith sees her children waiting for her to tell them Derek’s dead and Richard talks about the mother he lost to pancreatic cancer when he was ten. We finally learned something new about him, up to this point all we new was Adele/Ellis/Maggie concerned and now we’re finally getting to know his childhood a little bit. I loved the theatrical, single scene episode and no surprises there, Meredith’s story was my favorite. We watched her tell Zola and Bailey about Derek’s death and we got to see Derek, well a 2006 version of him, thanks to an old footage of him back in season 2. I loved it when Owen’s sister was walking around Meredith in the OR and there was this orange light following her, whereas everyone else was still. We learned why Stephanie became a surgeon and it was a beautiful episode. I loved it when the little girl raised her voice and said ‘Speak up’ in a way that Olivia often does on Shonda’s other show Scandal. Hmm, when to think of it, Mellie too! Powerful women on that show. I could write essays on this episode alone, here are all the best quotes.

We need sleep. Without it we make poor decisions, say things we shouldn’t and sometimes imagine something that’s not there.
How do you know when you’re too tired to operate?
When you make the first mistake.
I have a question, does Gale have a dog?
Maybe she’s whatever Dr Webber says she is.
And I outrank you!
You’re not going to choke this one too, right?
Shut up, for God’s sakes!
We spent months reading about it, remember?
Speak up!
When you’ve been stuck in a bed through most of your childhood…
Children? Are there children?
They’re waiting with her downstairs in the lobby.
Grey, what is your problem!?
What do you think I’m doing right now? Massaging this heart for exercise?
Is he hurt?
Then you should go in there and fix him! You fix everybody!
Zola… I can’t fix him, because no one can fix him. Because, he’s dead. Daddy died.
You didn’t make Gale up.
It’s okay son, there was nothing you could have done, you were only 10 years old.
We can do a partial liver transplant.
Nice save, Grey.
Sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good. Whatever you need to keep you going.

10/10

Greys 13.09

Bailey told DeLuca to use the Karev method of identifying patients using the Polaroid camera, which broke me. Remember the ferry boat accident back in season three? What a ride that was. Four of the songs from season one and two were reused and everything felt warm and homey and I felt like a teenager again. I really hope Alex doesn’t leave. I know he wasn’t getting good storylines, but he is one of the MAGIC five. When Meredith mentioned the original five and how she can’t be the only one by herself, naturally I burst into tears. I really enjoyed all the Alex/Jo interactions and him telling her she is Jo Wilson and should stay. Leah made Ben impersonate a priest and it was fun to watch him explain himself in front of his wife when she knew nothing about it. Overall, it was a fantastic episode, and I’m only annoyed by the main character they’re trying to push down our and Arizona’s throats. I would rather have her be with Leah than with this Brothers and Sisters alum.

Zero years is the goal.
The only way they can identify who made it to this hospital and who didn’t is this photo. I want a photo of every patient on this board in the next hour.
One minute you’re fine and the next thing, everything just collapses around you.
That has to be illegal.
The foundation was crippling.
You’re not trash. Don’t let anyone say that. You’re not trash, Jo.
I’m married. I’m married to a guy who almost beat me to death.
Jo Wilson isn’t my real name. That’s why I couldn’t marry you.
If I disappear after tomorrow, I don’t want you to think it’s you, ever.
This is your life. You’re Jo Wilson, you belong here.
Jo’s married.
What are you even saying right now?
That’s how I taught you to fire people. I’m ornamental and you know it.
You’ll be okay. You’ll be fine. You’ll be fine.
Me? Of course, I’ll be fine. I’m always fine, don’t you know that?
Who you are will be gone.
I’d hug you goodbye, but you’d have to scrub again. Goodbye, Mer.
You know I’d go down the river for you. Whatever you’re doing this for, please don’t.

10/10

American Horror Story 6.09

Taissa Farmiga is back! (and gets killed off in the same episode). I thought there was enough of the ‘found footage’ this season, which seems like a longer and a lot worse good old Blair Witch. This should have been the season finale.

Oh my God, is that the same girl!?
That’s the thing, there was no body.
This is exactly how every horror movie works!
Can you say that again?
I killed Daddy.
This is such  good idea. God, I can’t wait to get to the house!
Let me just say, that I’m a huge fan.
Oh no, I love Shelby!
Present yourself for slaughter.
They killed two kids.
Jesus, there’s another one.
You fucking murderer.

8/10

The Simspons 28.06

What a fine Friday Night Lights like episode. Adored all the music and the little FNL things, but it didn’t seem like enough. Why would it, it wasn’t a tribute, just one long reference. I enjoy the kid centred episodes the most.

We’re late to prenatal yoga.
Milhouse is 10 why are we still doing that?

7.5/10

The Simpsons 28.07

The Simpsons head to Cuba and the highlight being Homer buying postcards and saying that saves him a trip to the beach. Started off good, turn to nonsense.

I love seeing people I know, fail.
A lot of things are America’s shame.
I’m sorry there’s a fee if you don’t cancel withing 24 years.
That saves us from going to the beach.

4.5/10

Divorce 1.05

Okay, at least, Dean Winters joined the cast! Other than that, this show is so bad and boring, I’m only watching it because it will only have one season (let’s hope). Why the heck was she telling the lawyer about her never faking an orgasm with her husband we’ll never know.

Savable? She fucked a French guy 69 times!
I wanted you to help me move them, not put my dead husband’s flowers on your fucking coffee table!
This is not a teaching hospital! This is my life!
He couldn’t pick that dog out in a fucking line up.

3/10

Divorce 1.06

He took the fault on himself, so her parents wouldn’t know she was the one cheating, okay that was actually good. The husband saying ‘Pleased to meet you’ instead of ‘Peace be with you’ at the church was another lovely surprise from this below average show.

Pleased to meet you!
I don’t like touching people.
I cheated on her.

Summer shows are done. Now I’m counting down days to Greys, SVU, Shameless and many more!

Scream 2.07

You went full on Hard Candy.
He’s a known predator teacher.
This had never gone bad for anone in a movie, ever.
I’m not buying condoms. Where’s the shampoo?

8/10

Scream 2.08

Lakewood is cursed. People die in this town.
Unless we wake up and stop acting like this is not Murderville.

6.5/10

Scream 2.11

If they think we killed the mayor. They think we killed everybody.

10/10

Scream 2.12

Season 2 ends exactly same as the original Scream. I doubt Wes Craven would be happy with that. The very ending where the killer calls the just revealed killer asking them who let them where the Scream mask was the best part.

I’ll be right back.
Why, why would you say that?!
To kill with someone, that’s a real bond.
Hello, X, who told you, you could wear my mask?

9/10

Dead of Summer 1.07

I wonder if kids watch this show (it’s on Freeform so It’s a kids show) and think it’s great. Because everyone who knows a thing or two about television thinks this show is a joke.

You want to bring violent criminals into the camp full of kids.
That’s mu brother. He was never the same after that summer.
He took his own life.
Pretending to look into Michael Goodson and his visions.
I’m saying that when you first got here I thought you were the hottest guy I’ve ever seen. And I still do.

9/10

Dead of Summer 1.08

Morgue scene was on point, but the best scene of the whole series was the lake scene. Absolutely beautiful. Amy is even more annoying than ever. Her calm voice, jesus.
This eclipse unlocked something. The black girl’s relationship with her mom was messed up and one of my favorite things. There is no way
It’s a trick. Trust me.
They can’t see us.
Step across.
They’ll believe you did this.
Switch seats with me.
Northwestern? I’m your family.
I don’t want to be saved. Fooled you.

4/10

Dead of Summer 1.09

Great hamster scene, a bloody piano and Amy losing her family to a gas leak. The sea of blood and all the kids screaming was just wonderful.

Oh no!
I only wanted him to be free!
Now you’re in a cage.
I’ll try to buy you some time.
No, Debs, don’t.
He said no one is pure enough. Till now.
No mother what happened here this summer. This will always feels like home.
Of course, Amy hi.
If one of the councellors drops out, I’ll
Amy pull me up.
Camp Stillwater, it’s exactly what I wanted.
I’m looking for Amy Hughes. She’s not who she says she is.
Deb, can you believe they tried to purify me?
I closed this camp and it will never reopen. I saved the kids.
But you didn’t save yourselves.
Do you remember now? The real reason why you came back here? You’re not so innocent either.Thank you for bringing me home, Deb.
I’ll be right there.

10/10

Dead of Summer 1.10

I’m sad Elizabeth Mitchell was not in the finale and I hope that If they get s2, and they do decide to flash back to the 70s, Elizabeth comes back. It all ends with a Bowie concert. I wonder if the creator pitched the show before or after Bowie’s death. The show ends on a weak note.

You should turn her in.
But she’s my mom.
For sale.

3.5/10

Pretty Little Liars 7.04

Jenna is back and the guy the girls ran over may not have been Alison’s husband.

I even let friends tag me in photos.
Jenna.
The day after we run someone over, she comes back to town.
If that’s not him, then who did we just kill?

5.5/10

Pretty Little Liars 7.05

Noel is back and Ezra proposed!

Aria Marie Montgomery, will you marry me?

1/10

Pretty Little Liars 7.06

Wanted in Wales, wanted in the UK.
Next time, make sure you really kill someone.
You and Ezra, it’s a different story.
I want to marry you.

8/10

Pretty Little Liars 7.07

Sara Harvey gets killed.

It’s Sara Harvey, she’s dead.
Your mom hired me for hotel security.
Hell, Em, I always knew you’d never leave Rosewood.
Damn, my hair looked good.
I see you.

9/10

Pretty Little Liars 7.08

Paige is back! A good episode plus we find out the liars graduated from high school in 2012!

Swim coach.
Hanna, you look like you’ve seen a ghost.
A darkness around you and Caleb.
Many people died here, Hanna.

8/10

Pretty Little Liars 7.09

Paige’s words were extremely relevant and most likely my favorite quote this season.

DMV moves faster than this place.
Our whole lives were wrapped up in this place.
I couldn’t wait to get out of here, now I kinda wish I could go back.
It’s happening again.
You found a way to include me when we were in high school, whoever you’re with now, you should be able to do the same.
That’s the same area Hanna was kept captive.
She’s hunting Noel like it’s the Hunger Games.
I know you killed Sara.

9/10

Pretty Little Liars 7.10

Everyone got back together, someone is pregnant and someone turned out to be Mary’s child, oh yeah and Nicole was found alive. PLL pulls the ‘Don’t Breathe’ trick, as the liars are forced to hide in the dark from the blind villain.

I’m pregnant.
You’ve been the bitch girl, the missing girl, the dead girl.
Oh my god, It’s a head.
X, I would never hurt you, I’m your mother.

10/10

Castle 8.21

Yes, I still haven’t seen the series finale, and I don’t plan on seeing it anytime soon. It took me 2 years to watch Private Practice’s finale and I still haven’t watched Dexter’s finale.

Someone breaks into Castle’s office and Castle is sure he is marked for death. It’s one of the most hilarious episodes that will make me miss Castle dearly.

Hello, it’s the Omen!
I’m marked for death.
That same flash of light appeared in the crime scene photos.
If by people you mean Satan.
He’s dead, so unless you have an Ouiji board.
I am being targeted by evil forces.
I saw his eyes. It was the demon.
Your husband has been marked for death.

10/10

Bones 11.11

I like how late in the year Bones now is. I can watch everything I need to and leave Bones for late August for when I’m stressed about not having any other shows for another month. After the break, Hodgins is all cranky and can’t seem to get pass his accident. Who can blame him?

You are so much more than this job.
That’s right. Bill me.
You don’t adjust kids’ art.
A man who treats a woman like dirt is not a man at all.

6.5/10

Bones 11.12

A wonderful Hodgins centred episode. Bones punched a guy! Again! And it was the funniest thing in a long time.

I have plenty of feeling. Anger, rage.
Royal Diner is our spot, don’t change it because of me.
All bitches need to be muzzled.
Booth, stop, you could lose your job for striking a civilian. Where I could face disciplinary action at most.
The jaw is so swollen he couldn’t tell if he wanted to.
Now you’re looking at me like a piece of meat.
I would never look at you like that, I’m a vegetarian.

10/10

Bones 11.13

This episode is everything the next season of Bates Motel will be. And Bones just got a new villain.

There’s no evidence the killer did anything sexual with the diseased.
You mean like taxidermy?
He lived with the body for an extended period of time.
For at least 6 months.
He spoon fed them.
Ever think you’re a little cray-cray yourself?
It’s the perfect location for serial murder.
In a way he and I are very similar.
He was turning his victims into marionettes.
You were right mommy, there are no monsters.

10/10

Scream 2.09

Aside from me and your mother, who else has been in your room?
Oh yes please, keep playing dumb.
Why is that picture upside down.

8/10

Scream 2.10

What an incredible episode. Noah and Zoey were buried alive and one of them could not be saved.

Please come save me.
I’m not gonna give you that satisfaction.
Of course I do, because you’re just my head saying what I already know.
She’s still down there.

10/10

Grace and Frankie 2.01

I watched it in June and was too lazy to rewrite my notes. The first episode was probably the weakest, with everyone stressing about not telling Robert about Sol and Frankie.

Are you fucking kidding me?
I don’t care why you became a rabbi.
I have 40 years of anger built up.
Last year when I said…I didn’t mean it.
By the power invested in me by the world wide web.

3/10

Grace and Frankie 2.02

Hilarious. Vin Diesel fucked Frankie.

Sol fucked Frankie. Sent.
Some shit is going down.
Vin Diesel fucked Frankie.
I’m so happy it was Vin Diesel who slept with my mom.
Whatever Mary-Louise, why don’t you go work at McDonalds.
Who’s Vin Diesel?

7.5/10

Grace and Frankie 2.03

Not as good.

That’s where I doodle.
All of Downton Abbey.
Be the bossy hamster with a drinking problem. They’re the ones who inspire their grandchildren to become writers.
I am gayer than you.

3/10

Grace and Frankie 2.04

Awful.

Ditch the booze.

1.5/10

Grace and Frankie 2.05

Frankie takes the driving test and it’s fun. Also, Still Alice is mentioned.

I’m not like that one with that guy with that redhead.
You too Judas have sold me up the river.
Fuck your take a break.
You were high when you studied.
Will you spend the rest of your life being roommates with that hippy nutbag?
This year she’s also been there for me in a very real way.
When the DMV is more fun than brunch with old friends.
You wanna talk about it?
I love you for that question, but no, thanks for now.
Why does it have restricted written on it?
I passed my written test, but my eyes didn’t. So no nighttime driving.
Great, so you have half a licence and I have no friends.
Or I had more license than I had yesterday. And you may have a new best friend. Best friends!
Kill me now.
Give me the keys. It’s getting dark.

10/10

Grace and Frankie 2.06

Frankie throws a bon-voyage party for her friend and Grace is not happy with it.

I painted this with my vagina.
I hated every job I ever had.
I thought we fired him.

4/10

Grace and Frankie 2.07

Sadly I don’t remember this episode well enough, but I did give it a 10.

This is a Lifetime movie.
I’m a member of Peta.
Animals are getting smarter.

I don’t usually post food reviews on this blog, but veganism is a big part of my life, and I decided to spice it up a little bit. I have been vegan for 6 years, and vegetarian for 7. Now that I’ve eaten all the July snacks, I wanted to share what I liked and why unlike a few other snack company’s, I keep my subscription. I do understand that there is no way to fully meet someone’s snacking needs, but Vegan Tuck Box is to the most part meeting my high expectations.

Vegan Tuck Box July 2016 and how much I liked the snacks

Kent Crisps Seasalt & Biddenden Cider Vinegar

Regular chips that taste like Apple and Vinegar, not the best combination. It’s bitter, duh. It took me a few days to eat it, but I guess it’s good in a way, as I couldn’t binge on it. And maybe that’s the point.

3/10

Kintaro Almond Nut Clusters

One of the best snacks (not just vegan) that I have tasted. The minute I ate this bag, I ordered a box of 7 rice and nut clusters from the kintaro website. After trying all of them, I do believe this one is the best, almost equally amazing one is the Strawberry Rice one. There’s also a nut one, chocolate/banana one, green tea one and a spicy one. Almond and strawberry are definitely the ones I’ll keep reordering.

10/10

YumEarth Organics Anti-OxiFruits

Delicious, vegan sweets, 200 percent of dayily recommended intake of Vitamin C in one. If you have sensitive teeth, don’t eat more than one. I know the struggle. I gave them to my parents to try and they keep asking me for more! I ended up giving them the whole bag. I am considering repurchasing them, but there is so many of them in the bag, 30 maybe? We won’t run out any time soon.

9/10

Go Max Go White Cleos

Peaunut butter covered in white chocolate! I know! Two of the most delicious guilty pleasures in one! Salty and sweet in one deal. Even new vegans know how hard it is to come across a vegan milk chocolate, let alone a white one! I bet you’re getting sick of that dark one too. The snack was a little too sweet, so I suggest you don’t eat both cookies at once.

8/10

So Sweet Couture Chocolate

Remember those tasteless chocolate bunnies from childhood? I remember one or two occassions when my mom accidentally bought a chocolate-like instead of a chocolate one and was so upset. Don’t worry it’s not what vegan chocolate tastes like. It’s a shame that vegan companies forget vegans drink the very appetizing soy milk. If you like orange chocolate in general, you won’t mind the not so delectable chocolate.

1/10

Lenny & Larry Birthday Cookie

One big soft and spongy cookie. Too big to eat it in one sitting, unless you’re really hungry.

6/10

Hoots Cheese and Onion

Very palatable and yes, the cheese is vegan! It’s baked too! If you have weak teeth, try to break it in half first. If you miss cheese crisps, or cheese in general, you must get them!

7/10

Shire Snax Peppermint Patty Bar

Tastes like a mint protein bar. If you’re into minty things, go get it. My rate has nothing to do with the taste or quality of this bar, it’s just that I don’t like minty bars.

4/10

Holy Lama Spice Drops

Unnecessary, but tasty. I will continue adding it to my cereal.

5/10

Wholebake Flapjack

Like a regular flapjack, just a little drier. And too big.

7/10

Inspiral Incan BBQ Kale Chips

I am very biased on this one, as I hate kale chips and kale in general, so I can’t say anything nice about this product.

0/10

Ten Acre Strawberry and Cream Popcorn

Woah, what a treat! Both mouth-watering and sweet! Second favourite this month and a must-have!

10/10

I loved most of these! I do love my Vegan Tuck Box and cannot wait to discover new snacks they send me next month!

I am so happy Mel Gibson is back. Go see the trailer for Blood Father. William H. Macy is in it too! While growing up all my dad talked about were Tom Hanks and Mel Gibson, it’s good to see Mel again, I only watched The Beaver since his 2004 films, and he hasn’t been in much since then.

freerideburied

Free Ride

More or less by accident I have seen all films starring a rising young actress Liana Liberato. I loved her performance in Trust, a very important film about sexual predators online, directed by David Schwimmer, yes that’s Ross from Friends. It’s one of my 100 favorite films and I rewatch it on DVD every couple of months. I have been following Liana’s career since 2010, so when I saw Free Ride expiring on Netflix, naturally I had to see it. Free Ride is a true story of the film’s director and screenwriter’s mother, who was a drug dealer. Yes, when you think about it, it is real time Weeds. Free Ride lightly covers sad life of a drug dealer and their loved ones. Anna Paquin’s friend was annoying as hell, why does half of the films feature an annoying best friend. The film wasn’t groundbreaking at any point, but it’s always fun to watch a film actually based on true events.

7/10

Buried

I don’t get the puff is about, I have been meaning to watch it for ages, and I was extremely disappointed. Buried was boring, and definitely not thrilling. Go watch Brake with Stephen Dorff and Chyler Leigh it’s very similar, but much more suspenseful that this.

3/10

hush alliegant

Hush

It wasn’t that good, why is everyone so excited about it. The neighbor’s boyfriend was so dumb he believed the killer was a policeman and gave his phone to him. They cast a hearing person for a deaf part, when there are so many unemployed deaf actors. I am not happy with this. This wasn’t some big production to show off a famous actor’s abilities. The one thing I liked about this was that the writer wrote down her last words to her parents the very last minute, I thought that was nice. There are tons of good horror films out there and this is not one of them. A special point for Derek’s killer finally getting what she deserved.

3.5/10

Allegiant

Oh boy, this series again. I started watching it for Naomi Watts, and I did like the first one. It gets worse and worse with each installment. Not true though, the second one was much worse than this one. I wish they could do 7 Hunger Games and just one of Divergent. I do remember there was a fun song in end credits.

4/10

echo boo

Earth to Echo

I think I mistook it for some other sci-fi kids film, and it wasn’t Super 8. I remember seeing Super 8 at the movies. I think it was called Wall-e something like that. I chose to watch this because I thought oh yeah It was Oscar nominated so why not. Earth to Echo will only make any impression on you if you’re a primary school kid. It tried to be Goonies at parts, it tried to be E.T. and it failed. The ending was a bit moving, but that’s all because of music. I think if you have kids you should show it to them, if you don’t, don’t watch it.

4/10

Boo

Apparently it was so bad, I can’t recall what it was about.

Stockholm, Pennsylvania. The Diary of a Teenage Girl. Ferris Bueller’s Day Off. Reservoir Dogs. Godzilla. A Guy Thing. Boogeyman 2

Stockholm, Pennsylvania

The main character, a 22 year old girl (Saoirse Ronan) escaped her captor to end up in hands of another, this time related to her. I don’t quite get why the father abandoned her and let his wife forbid him to see his daughter when he seemed so nice at the beginning. The ending was quite dazzling, as the crazy cycle continued. It was never explained how the main character escaped, how the kidnapper got caught or if her kidnapper sexually assaulted her, surprising as it may be, I really thing he didn’t. It seemed like he just wanted to have something to raise that was fully his, but without the perversity. Cynthia Nixon’s performance was alluring, I have seen her in some dramas after the SATC series, and this was most likely her best work. Saoirse brings her usual sensitivity to the film. Stockholm is an independent film, but it  deserved similar recognition to The Room.

8/10

The Diary of a Teenage Girl

To answer the main character’s question, yes, you are the only one who thinks this much about sex. Girls tend to think a little more about it before losing their virginity, but after the fact they only share the exceptional and exceptionally bad experiences with their friends. I know it was the 70s and people had more time to waste, but not everyone was sex crazed. One of the thing I enjoyed about the film was that ‘unnatural bond’ remark Christopher Meloni’s character made, forcing the mother (Kristen Wigg) to feel uncomfortable around her daughter. I enjoyed how the mother found out, and it was the first time I enjoyed watching Kristen Wigg act, I may check out more films of hers. I didn’t like her in Bridesmaids, or the film in general, I did love the shitting/puking scene. The Diary of a Teenage Girl is a good enough film, that I’ll never get on DVD or even watch again.

‘The point is that you fucked my daughter.’

‘Just keep drawing.’

5/10

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off

I needed a rewatch after watching that Ferris based The Goldbergs episode and feeling more nostalgic than usual. I skipped school 9 days a month, not a semester, so not sure what the hype is all about. The film felt much less eventful than when I watched it when I was Ferris’s age.

‘Life moves pretty fast. If you don’t stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.’

7/10

Reservoir Dogs

I never understood the appeal of this film. I do enjoy watching it once a decade, but I don’t get why people worship it. At least many men do. I know that women seem to hate it, but it’s not that it’s boring. It starts off interesting and then it just goes like every other gangster film, even though it isn’t even a gangster film. It’s just a bunch of guys making series of really bad decisions.

7/10

Godzilla

All I expected from this film were great special effects, and the Loch Ness monster hunt feeling, and that’s what we got. The monsters looked a little unnatural at the beginning with their metal heads, but their appearance got better throughout the film. I swear Richard T Jones plays a secondary character in half big budget action/catastrophic productions. I see him on my TV at least 3 times a year. I still don’t understand how the main character found his son. I saw more than a half of Elizabeth Olsen’s films, which I guess makes me a fan. She was fantastic in Silent House and Marcy May Marlene or whatever the order of those name was, both end up focusing on sex crimes, and I highly recommend these two.

5/10

A Guy Thing

Netflix, why don’t you stop adding crappy films? I wanted to turn it off, but then the guy caught a veneric disease and it got funny  for a second or two and then it was too late to turn it off.

3/10

Boogeyman 2

The first Boogeyman starring Emily Deschanel from Bones, made some sense, this just didn’t. Mae Whitman plays a self-harmer, there’s also a bulimic girl, an OCD guy and people with other phobias. Even if you’re into mental health films, which I am, you won’t find much about the character’s issues and they seem to unnecessarily explain every obvious aspect of their diseases which feels odd. I know when you like horror, you’re tempted to watch almost everything, but trust me, skip this one.

Ten more are coming tomorrow.

The Girl in the Book

I was nicely surprised by this one. The girl practically consented, even though a 14 year old can’t really consent, to being sexually assaulted, because she didn’t know how to refuse and kind of had a crush on her writing mentor. Her parents don’t believe her and you know the drill. Her teacher does not only not want to have anything to do with her, but he also steals her words and publishes a book based on her diary. Every aspiring writer needs to watch this film. It was simply beautiful, It made it to my top 10 of the month among with many Globe or Academy nominated titles. This is exactly the type of film I wanted to see Emily VanCamp do after Revenge.

9/10

Lions for Lambs

I hated that we didn’t get to see Redford’s character’s reaction to the final deaths. I did enjoy it as a whole, but it all just seemed too fast, and I don’t think the kid would enlist. Especially if he heard what happened to the original guys. I don’t think I’ve met a person who would have signed up for this programme. I don’t think that Meryl and Tom’s film long conversation was necessary, but s a whole, the film was definitely intriguing.

Nowhere else have I seen such lions led by such lambs.

Why did we send 150,000 troops to a country that did not attack us, and one-tenth that number to the one that did?
How many times are you people going to ask the same question?
Till we get the answer.

Says the man in the air-conditioned room.

7/10

Gone

I have been postponing watching this one long enough. Jennifer Carpenter was only in two scenes, but it was a nice thriller.

6/10

My Sweet Audrina

Even though I do not remember the book well enough, I do believe this script exaggerates behavior of already psychotic characters . My Sweet Audrina is a story of a girl who was gang raped by a bunch of teenagers when she was only 9. If you follow films that portray sex crimes, you will run into this one sooner or later. I very much hated the happy ending. It ruined whatever was good about the film. Why did they make the guy seem faultless? I know we’re not supposed to expect much from Lifetime films, but they should have tried more. I enjoy My Sweet Audrina as a story, especially the family trying to protect her from the truth, and if you haven’t read the book, you will probably figure it all out before the characters tell you.

6/10

Admission

What was even the point of this film? The only good part is when the son turned out -spoiler- not to be hers.

1/10

Charlie’s Farm

Like every other bad horror, so don’t do this to yourself.

1/10

Containment

You need to live in the UK to see how low budget this film was. One block of flats, 20 people. It didn’t make sense half the time and it ended horribly.

1/10

The Abandoned

Watchable probably only for security people. If you’re not a CCTV Operator or a Night Guard, you will most likely not like this film. I am both, and as I always enjoy films that feature security work, I made it through. Sure we were all asking why did the girl walked down the forbidden corridor especially on her first day, but that’s just what happens in bad horror films. I am disappointed with the ending as well.

Welcome to ReviewThisFilm

This website started in 2010 as weekly reviews of movies and tv episodes, and a diary of the 700 new films I watched every year. Today it’s a place for me to write a few words on films and tv shows that leave some sort of impact on me. I no longer write in depth reviews, mostly thanks to bad habits gained by spending many hours a day on Letterboxd.

If you have a film you would like me to watch and review,  please leave a comment.

Enjoy!

About the Author

All I do is watch movies, the good, the bad and the ugly. Sometimes I make my own.

Check out my latest film (120K+ views on Youtube):

www.youtube.com/watch?v=WP3Iz23hD7M

I’ve seen over 6000 films and 220 TV shows. I have a degree in Film Production, and wrote my dissertation on Italian neorealism. I mostly gravitate towards social issues films, anything Ken Loach, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Roberto Rossellini, Vittorio De Sica or Jafar Panahi, etc.

I rate films within genre. I watch a lot of films on Mubi, Filmbox Arthouse. My favourite directors are Yasujiro Ozu, Ken Loach, Krzysztof Kieslowski, Zhang Yimou, Roberto Rossellini, Ingmar Bergman, Brian De Palma, Vittorio De Sica and Andrzej Wajda. My favourite actresses have always been Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. I’m nostalgic and reminisce a lot. I’m at the cinema 10 times a month. And I’m a Polish-British millennial.

I will watch anything:

psychological | arthouse | foreign | independent | drama | horror | lgbt | strong female characters | female centred films | dysfunctional families | sexual assault | troubled childhood | mental health issues

I am the dark and twisty Meredith Grey, the mad Dexter Morgan, hoping to grow up to be a little more like the wise, but fun Nora Walker. I am an aspiring filmmaker. My favorite actresses are Jodie Foster, Sally Field and Julianne Moore. Favorite genre – psychological drama. I watch anything with a sexual or mental abuse plot. I used to be a horror freak. I am obsessed with Grey’s Anatomy, SVU and many more. My other interests include making oil and pencil portraits and wildlife conservation. I cannot say no to beautiful landscapes, travel, Aussie accent, TV/film quotes and avocados. I have recently moved back from Australia to the UK. I’ve been running this blog for the last 9 years. Here I comment on films and episodes I watch. Enjoy! – Joanne

favourite film and tv quotes

‘When I lived in Porpoise Spit, I used to sit in my room for hours and listen to ABBA songs. But since I’ve met you and moved to Sydney, I haven’t listened to one Abba song. That’s because my life is as good as an Abba song. It’s as good as Dancing Queen.’ (Muriel’s Wedding)

‘I used to think about
your life in New York. I tried to imagine your room. I kept track of the time difference, so I  knew when you were awake and when you were asleep.’ (Disobedience)

‘Nothing’s clean, Howard. But we do our best, right?’ (The Aviator)

‘No, I’m not quitting. I don’t quit things.’
‘No, actually you do. Your mother quit your father. Your father quit you. You quit your boyfriend and if I read your hospital chart correctly you quit your life momentarily on a couple of occasions. You quit. It’s what you know how to do.’ (Greys)

‘Where the hell was I that year?’
‘Your were watching television’. (Everybody Loves Raymond)

‘It’s impossible to worry about anything else when there’s blood coming out of you.’
(Short Term 12)

‘I wanted it to happen. And when we were girls… Even then, it was the same. It’s always been this way! I have always wanted it.’ (Disobedience)

‘Sometimes it’s easy, sometimes you play games in your head. You make up someone, someone good.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a moment when our lives change forever. The moment we admit our weaknesses, the moment we rise to a challenge, the moment we accept a sacrifice, or let a loved one go. And sometimes the change in our lives is an answer to our prayers.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Yesterday I went to the movies all day by myself. One after the other. I’ve never done that before. I had a really happy day.’ (Doing Time for Patsy Cline)

‘I just need something to happen. I need a sign that things are going to change. I need a reason to go on. I need some hope. And in the absence of hope, I need to stay in bed a feel like I might die today.’ (Greys)

‘She saved me my whole life. Without her, I’m nothing.’ (The Favourite)

‘Don’t wonder why people go crazy. Wonder why they don’t. In face of what we can lose in a day, in an instant, wonder what the hell it is that make us hold it together.’  (Greys)

‘Bree sobbed quietly in the restroom for five miutes, but her husband never knew, because when Bree finally emerged, she was perfect.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘I am not food, you cannot just eat and eat.’ (The Favourite)

‘I don’t love him.’
‘Of course you do.’
‘No!’
‘Don’t take me for a fool Olive,  I’m many things but I’m not a fool.’
‘I know that, you’re brilliant.’
‘Don’t you see, it’s over. Whatever this is, was, it’s over.’
‘I love You.’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘At the end of the day, the fact that we have the courage to still be standing, is reason enough to celebrate.’ (Greys)

‘Many years ago, a neighbour and a good friend of ours took her life, and that left us all heartbroken and perplexed. But somehow, when I was alone in that hotel room, I forget about all the pain that she caused. In those awful moments, I thought maybe she had the answer.‘ (Desperate Housewives)

‘What happened last year when you fell in the water?’
‘I almost drowned. Do you think I did that for kicks?’
‘You put your hand in a body cavity that contained unexploded ammunition.’
‘I was trying to save a patient!’
‘Why is it that every other person in that room had the sense to hit the deck? You know people run away from this line between life and death. You seem to stand on it and wait for a strong wind to sway you one way or the other. You’re careless with your life. You’re not slitting your wrists but you’re careless. Probably because your mother told you you were a waste of space on this planet. The problem is you believed her. And if you don’t want out one of these days you’re going to die because of it.’  (Greys)

‘This is the street where I used to live and these were the people with whom I shared my life. I met them the day they moved in. And I saw what they brought with them. Beautiful dreams for the future. And quiet hopes for a better life. Not just for themselves, but for their children, too. If I could, would I tell them what lies ahead? Would I warn them of the sorrow and betrayal that lie in store? No. From where I stand now, I see enough of the road to understand how it must be traveled. The trick is to keep moving forward, to let go of the fear and the regret that slow us down and keep us from enjoying a journey that will be over too soon. Yes, there will be unexpected bends in the road, shocking surprises we didn’t see coming, but that’s really the point. Don’t you think?’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Was your life not working when you let that slip out from under you?’
‘When are you going to stop suggesting that I’m suicidal?’
‘When you start acting like someone that wants to be alive.’
‘Give me my chart.’
‘Why?’
‘Because I’m not suicidal, and if it says that I am, then it’s wrong.’ (Greys)

‘There is nothing wrong with me.’
‘Then show me your arm.’ (Degrassi)

‘Look, my whole life, I have been the freak. The girl who nobody picked for dodgeball. The girl who didn’t have a mom. The girl who dressed funny because it was her dad buying her clothes. And then, tonight I looked at these people, and I thought maybe there’s a future where I don’t have to be a freak. Maybe I can be who I am and that’s okay.’ (Everything Sucks)

‘Dr, I have been this way since…since I can remember. There is no cure.’ (American Horror Story)

‘He was so crazy about me, I couldn’t breathe. So we tried drinking our way back into love, but it never made sense in the morning. So I ran. And every time I came back, he was here. And he was still crazy about me.’ (My Blueberry Nights)

‘Bree van de Kamp had always wanted to live her life with elegance and grace. That is also how she wanted to die. Her plan was to pour herself a glass of her favorite chardonnay, put on her most stylish nightgown and leave behind a note on embossed stationery.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘All we have is this moment. The future is just a fucking concept that we use to avoid being alive today. So be… here…. now.’ (Six Feet Under)

‘On the train coming here, we were in the same cart, I saw you, you were reading and you feel asleep. I didn’t dare to look at you, you were so beautiful, it was scary. Afterwards,  I couldn’t stop thinking about you. It made me smile. Then I thought of all the men who would get to hold you, who’d make you laugh. How lucky they were.’ (Enemy at the Gates)

‘It was a good day. Maybe even a great day. Even when it was hard, I was the me in my head. There was a moment when I thought I cant do this, I cant do this alone. I close my eyes and imagine myself doing it, and I did, I blocked out the fear, and I did it.’ (Greys)

‘There comes a time when we must expose our weaknesses. When our secrets can no longer remain private, when our solitude can no longer be denied, when our pain can no longer be ignored, but sometimes we feel so alone that a weakness we thought we’d overcome suddenly becomes too strong to fight.’ (Desperate Housewives)

‘Why did you get married, Esti? Why didn’t you just leave? So everything was all right when I left?’
‘No. I was ill.’
‘What sort of ill?’
‘In my head.’
‘If I had to sleep with a man, why not with our best friend?’
‘Oh, Esti…’
‘It hasn’t been a complete disaster.’
‘And that’s enough?! Do you have to have sex every Friday?’
‘It’s expected.’
‘It’s medieval. What happened to you?’
‘Nothing. You happened to me. And then I started teaching and that became important. I give them ambition.’
‘To do what? Push out seven babies and be a good wife?’
‘Don’t. Don’t. I help them to value themselves.’
‘Okay, but what about you?’
‘That is me. And you? Are you happy?’
‘Yes, I am.’
‘Have you been with other women?’
‘No. Not really. And you?’
‘No.’
‘But, Esti… Do you still
only fancy women?’ (Disobedience)

‘OK, then, listen. Let’s not get caught.’
‘What are you talkin’ about?’
‘Let’s keep goin’!’
‘What d’you mean?’
‘Go.’
‘You sure?’
‘Yeah. Yeah.’ (Thelma & Louise)

‘She let me live at Nora’s house. She let me believe that I was a part of their family. I fell in love with that family. What am I supposed to do, just sit there, pretend I’m related to them? I was happy. For the first time in my life I was happy.’ (Brothers and Sisters)

‘You will be left all alone with your bitterness and your rage and your knowledge that you loved her and she loved you and you threw it away for them.’
‘Do you love her?’
‘Yes.’
‘And Have you always?’
‘Yes.’
‘So then ask her.’
‘Olive, will you forgive me?’ (Professor Marston and the Wonder Women)

‘No razors, no scissors, no fucking freedom.’
(Short Term 12)

‘You can’t take a picture of this. It’s already gone.’ (Six Feet Under)
